Sketchbook pieces while at work.
Never sure if I like markers or not. Should probably try them out with paper specifically for markers...

I didn’t know that!! Thank you for the additional context! It adds another layer to this that I wasn’t aware of. I am delighted!
I have a new comic – a real, physical one – up for sale on my Etsy!
It’s $6 + shipping, and you get a sticker!
Because I have brainworms and want to infect everyone I can with them, I will be posting the whole thing here but the draw for the hard copy is a pretty color cover! And a sticker!
Read the whole thing below the cut and then maybe buy a copy.

maskedjoker replied to your photoset: I really hope this is a joke. I don’t think it’s a very good message for men to clean better by saying “women deserve better” I mean seriously. Again, if it’s truly only a joke and not at all serious fine. But if it isnt. This particular chapter is meant somewhat facetiously. I mean, the most important thing I learned since going on testosterone was not that people with hairy butts need to wipe more; I’ve learned and realized far more important things.
That said... I don’t see how “men should clean their asses for the good of the world and the comfort of their partners” is not a good message.
My “Keep on Truckin’ with your Transition” collage that I made for myself.
Awesome, influential people.
Diamanda Galas in the top center. Pierre et Gilles’ “Saint Sebastian” on either side. David Wojnarowicz on the left, Slyvia Rivera in the center, Antony Hegarty on the right. Marsha P. Johnson and the wings of a gynandromorphic butterfly at the bottom center.

Reaching that point in working on a piece where I lose any sense of reality and my brain just chants "I AM A GENIUS I AM A GOD" over and over. Well, working in customer service until 11:30 pm will certainly beat down that overblown sense of confidence. Off to work!

Dreamed that I opened a book an there were beetles hiding in the pages. I turned the page and there was a snake. I flipped the book over but the snake came at me. I grabbed it’s tail and smashed it against the wall but it wouldn’t die. I wrapped it up in plastic bags to suffocate it but I could feel its body thrashing. I felt terrible. I didn’t want to prolong its suffering but I didn’t want it to hurt me.
Dreamed that there was a tornado outside the house. Everything was dark and the whole house was shaking and when I looked out the window, I could see the tail of the tornado dragging down the road. I lay down on my stomach and put my hands over the back of my head. My grandmother walked through the dark and shaking house as if nothing were wrong.

Was looking over my old posts and had a moment where I was like “Dang, I am actually a pretty good painter and this is a pretty cool painting.”
Only took four years distance from the actual creation of the piece to feel that way about it! ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
“Pretty Bunny/Ugly Hare”
acrylic and stickers on canvas board, 14 x 18
PRINTS AVAILABLE
Something of a continuation on the theme of “fuck your fascist cuteness standards.”
Inspired by the Playboy Bunny as a restrictive concept of American female beauty, the different connotations of the words “bunny” and “hare,” and overhearing a pregnant woman discuss her fears that her unborn child would be born with a “hare lip,” because that had “just ruined” Joaquin Phoenix’s face.
Slightly dissatisfied with this painting, actually. I have a tendency to push shadows darker than I would like, and that happened in this piece. I want to develop an ability to work with paler palettes.
However, this is the first time that I’ve really tried mixing a more deliberately stylized look with traditional painting, and I am very pleased with how that turned out.

I'm waiting for someone to come into your inbox and say, "It's just a cartoon! Stop taking it so seriously!" But Family Guy teaches some really dangerous lessons so shouldn't we take it seriously?
Yeah, I’m kinda waiting for that too...
I’ve gotten a couple of comments on reblogs along those lines, but I’m practicing Not Getting Into Every Argument Ever.Honestly, I’m more bothered seeing my stuff reblogged by racist/misogynist/transphobic/TERF/neonazi blogs. I mean, my blog isn’t locked so anyone can reblog, whatever, that’s fine. But... I’m queer, transgender, and one side of my family is Jewish. So... ew.
I would have less of a problem with the violence in Family Guy and The Simpsons if it were absolutely cartoonish -- like “Itchy & Scratchy” or Coyote and Roadrunner -- but the shows are couched as a semi-realistic comedic depiction of family life. The shows exist in a world where this sort of violence really does happen and more and more studies are showing that there is no qualitative difference in the effects of physical punishments. Like, spanking is not magically less harmful -- physically OR psychologically -- than other forms of physical punishment.
uh tl;dr I agree
