Frostbite883 Q: What are your thoughts on Batman stories in general?
No particular opinion, really. There are some Batman comics that I really enjoy -- Miller’s “Dark Knight Returns” was good and the “Batman: Black & White” collections are pretty cool. “The Killing Joke” was well-written and horrifying -- which is kinda why I don’t think it needs to be the one they turn into an animated feature. Batman is one of those characters/storylines that I have no particular attachment to, but I enjoy specific, unique interpretations of the character/setting.
In case it hasn’t been evident, I’ll take this moment to make it clear: I am not here for white supremacists/nationalists, racists, misogynists, homophobes, antisemites, antiziganists, xenophobes, TERFs, SWERFs, or any manifestation of fascism or social darwinism.

UGH I am so impatient to share more of the projects I’ve been working on but two are ~secret~ for awhile longer and the other is a weaving on a rigid heddle loom so the progress gets rolled up on the bar and you CAN’T see the progress all at once.
80 picks into the first color and now on to the second!
I’m in the 6th color now! Look at the color shift between five and six!!!

Working on a painting for the 1st time in like 6 months.
A practice in reducing values and colors to geometric shapes. Also using open acrylics, which stay wet longer. It does feel more like oil painting!
I’m impressed by the vibrancy of the color compared to the transparency of the paint.
I don’t know if the tumblr app is still doing that stupid thing where image posts are done as “jpeg within a text post” format, which looks incredibly ugly and bypasses the formatting I did for my tumblr theme.
I've been listening to the audiobook of "The Killer of Little Shepherds: A True Crime Story and the Birth of Forensic Science" by Douglas Starr.
It's the case of a French serial killer in the late 1800s, Joseph Vascher, and the development of early forensic science by Alexandre Lacassagne.
Lacassagne worked in Lyon, France, where the morgue was housed on a barge in the Rhône. The reasoning was that this would keep the stench away from the city and it was close to the two largest sources of corpses -- the hospital and the river itself. However, there were problems.
Joseph was a problem child...

Anonymous said: i really care about your doctor hill comic... i i i know it's viral now so you probably have a lot of asks like this, but i watched all those shows growing up and it made me feel like it was normal for me to be mistreated. especially as a little gay kid. seeing the narrative flipped was... extremely cathartic. i think i'm gonna go to therapy
Thank you so much for taking the time to write me such a kind message. I’m glad you connected to the comic and I wish you all the best! I hope you’re able to find a kind, respectful therapist. And if the therapist you find ISN’T doing it for you: Ditch ‘em and get a better one.
Anonymous said: hey i know u've gotten a few asks along these lines but i really digged ur therapist bobby comic. i have experienced a lot of trauma and want to become a therapist who works thru trauma w ppl. and idk the comic was just very oddly soothing. i hope all the queers can find peace. thank you 💘
Thank you! I hope you find peace too and good luck on your journey, whether or not that journey involves becoming a therapist. A good therapist can make such a difference in someone’s life.
Anonymous said: Bobby Hill becoming a therapist is the best idea ever!!!!! I love your comic about Bart and Chris 💖💕
Thanks!! I really think Bobby would be a good therapist.
dreamed that me and two girls that I went to middle school with were recording a song, reading the lyrics from a dark blue book with glowing white letters. don't remember the lyrics.
dreamed that there was a huge block party going on in my neighborhood, with tents set up all over and one of those janky ferris wheels. I decided that I wanted a milkshake and a burger. Every restaurant that I went to was getting held up by a delusional man with a shotgun. Every single one. Same guy, too. I'd leave and go to the next restaurant and he'd have moved on to hold that store up. I just really wanted a milkshake.
Part of some sort of giant videogame world. Built like one of those marble tunnel toys. Riding the marble down a spiral slide. Giant monster crushing the marble tunnel world. Water is rising faster.
I keep sleeping through the curtains falling out of the window frame and on top of me.
First stage in a multi-step project. Hand-weaving fabric which I will then use to sew the body and limbs of a marionette doll.
I’ve decided this will actually be my test weave... gonna start the whole thing over because I have brainworms.
All this work and I’ve concluded I’m gonna have to cut it up to harvest some of the yarn for the next one! The custom multicolor yarns that I made. The issue is those plain weave sections are uhhhh almost 4 ft long. If I reduce the number of picks, I can reduce the length of the plain weave section by half and have a lot more room for cool stuff.
Doing insane shit with string today
Awwww hell yeah we getting somewhere now
