spent all day yesterday reading about alex aster and lightlark and it's so funny that she has 'follow your dreams 🥰' in her bio when the only reason she got published was her enormous wealth and privilege and connections and she really thinks that 6 figure deals and 7 figure movie deals can happen to anyone else as long as they work hard not to mention the excessive level of bragging in her tiktoks that comes across as tone deaf
all this hype is completely manufactured, none of this is organic, and, as she keeps saying in the tiktoks, all it took was one tiktok to catapult her to stardom. she does not talk about her writing process or her characters or Anything about writing at all, it's just all about her success and how she was rejected 'countless times' before tiktok. which imo really goes to show you the kind of product you can expect. and reading excerpts from the book, maybe there's a reason she was rejected for so long
all this bragging and nothing to back it up with.... embarrassing.
If you live in the U.S. and you’re 12+, you’re eligible for the updated bivalent anti-omicron booster shot, and it should be available in your local pharmacy.Â
Please reblog this post, as there’s been very little news coverage and shockingly little propagation of information about the availability of updated boosters.

Small town culture is knowing that there are Old Folks with strange nicknames but never knowing the stories behind them.
Of course, I made the mistake of asking why everyone calls this one guy Brickaday and it turns out that he worked at a brickyard for 40 years, stealing exactly one brick every day and making no particular efforts to conceal the theft. Nobody thought anything of it until years later he was discovered to have built three houses.
His boss is said to have shrugged and made some remarks about the importance of coming up with a plan and sticking to it.
I‘m trying to arrange my face into an appropriate approximation of silent bafflement and failing miserably.

the thing about being in a fandom for a long time is you inevitably develop very intense opinions about things you know objectively are absolutely meaningless but nonetheless make you want to gnaw through drywall like a feral cat and there's just nothing you can do about that
