On this day, January 13, 2004: British photography student Tom Hurndall dies after being shot by an Israeli sniper in Gaza nine months earlier. Hurndall was trying to save Palestinian children from Israeli gunfire when he was shot in the head and left in a coma.
"What do I want from this life? I want to be proud of myself. When I die, I want to smile because of the things I have done, not cry for the things I haven't done. I will die with images of earthly heavens in my eyes" – Tom Hurndall

ID: [A little girl stands in front of a chalkboard, with her mouth open, showing an expression of fear or shock. She points at her drawing on the chalkboard, which is a drawing of an Israeli warplane dropping missiles over two stick men running away from their houses. The stick men are running towards a drawing that reads ‘ملجأ' (Mal-Ja’) which translates to refuge shelter. There is an arrow pointing to the warplane that reads ‘خطر' (Kha-Tar) which translates to danger. One the right side of the board, there is Arabic writing that indicates that this is a 2nd grade class, and this is fourth period. On the left side, the date is written in Arabic: Tuesday. January 15, 1980.] END ID.
February started with false hopes of a ceasefire.
It is now February 15 and the largest medical facility in South Gaza, which sheltered ~2,500 people and had been under siege for two weeks, has been attacked. It is now completely out of function.
We are 21 days away from marking 5 months of ongoing genocide.
Here are several posts with numerous donation links & other ways to help. I’ll also include the tag I use for those posts, where you’ll find individual gofundme’s listed as well. There is also Operation Olive Branch, which has an excel sheet of numerous families in Gaza & how to donate to them + how to contact them. If you can afford it, please consider donating and please, please remember to scroll down to donate to families at the bottom of the list. If you cannot give, please simply share as many resources as you find.
You don't have to be the person who feels like they can't help the situation in Gaza because they're thousands of miles away. There is plenty you can do!! SAVE THE ZAQOUTS!!!
