We personally don’t have any alters that speak different languages. While collectively we know a bit of Spanish, there’s no one who speaks a different language exclusively, at least not that we know of! Who knows, haha. Thank you for the ask!

Hii I’ve recently discovered that we’re a system and was wondering what your favorite thing the person you like or your friend you mentioned has done for you!! I’m kind of scared to tell our friends but your blog gives us hope

hey! welcome to the community! one of the best things one of our friends have done to accommodate us is by doing their own research themselves! i am absolutely blessed to have them, haha. they have also made sure to respect our boundaries, including not interacting with particular alters such as littles due to our own hesitance, and other forms of assistance!

if you have supportive friends, it’s definitely great to tell them about it! we were apprehensive at first as well, but they ended up being one of our most supportive people. :) something i recommend is allowing them to ask questions and explaining the basics! and if they’ve already heard of systems before, especially from ‘cringe’ posters, make sure to re-educate them and point them to more informational places or sites to correct any misinformation.

of course, they won’t understand, at least at first, but the important thing is they are willing to learn and try and understand, even if they cannot at first.

yep ! we used to, but it apparently wasn’t useful for our system so we no longer function that way. basically, its just a shit ton of fragments switching in and out, rarely consistent. we just randomly appear and just have little to no discernible identity.

are there any other systems that don’t have a host? just have a few alters that front more frequently? and usually that group of alters rotates over time

none of us identify with the body, none of us are the host, non of us hold a “host like” role

Common things in DID that no one likes to talk about

- switches that feel like you’re turning into someone else rather than them taking control (non-possessive switching)

- being unable to recognize amnesia until something requires you to remember something you forgot

- staying in the front for weeks at a time

- being unable to communicate with alters internally (this is so common why does everyone act like this is weird?)

- feeling like you don’t have any problems because you feel disconnected from them

- constant denial

- rapid identity, label, and appearance changes

- comorbidities, particularly personality disorders, anxiety disorders, and the schizophrenia spectrum

- autism (there is science pointing towards autistic people being more susceptible to trauma)

- disliking your system

- wanting final fusion

when you're sleep-deprived, woke up with a nose-bleed, dehydrated, overstimulated, water isnt watering, temperature regulation isnt temperature regulating, your body aches, you have therapy today, two projects are due that you haven't even started, and you have an orthodontic appointment.
