Stoop. Me and my husband are trying for a baby (YES WE FUCKIN YALL) and I can't wait for him to get this opportunity đ„șđ„șâ€ïžâ€ïž
âàŒ â KATSUKI BAKUGOU. baby talk.
about. you know when people raise their voices all high and squeaking, and pout through their words when they talk to babies?âŠyeah? well imagine that with your husband, katsuki.
warnings. minors, blank and ageless blogs do not interact ! sfw, fluff, baby talking (lots of wâs involved), cutesy speech, baby doesnât have a name, new parents, reader is referred to as mommy, fem!reader, girl dad + pro hero!bakugou, uncle!deku.
youâve always known your husband, bakugou, to be slightly rough around the edges. being the man that he is, and witnessing first hand every struggle heâs ever gone through, itâs hard to imagine him without his hardened outer shell. your katsuki has stood on the brink of death more than once â testing, fighting it⊠all while facing a world that saw him as good for nothing and evil.Â
how could you expect a man like that to be anything other than defensive, brash and bold? katsuki bakugou can be a little harsh, a little too mean at times but thatâs never deterred you from giving him all the love he thinks he doesnât deserve. youâd give him all the stars in the sky if you could, and he would give you the universe in turn.Â
he was far from cookie cutter perfect, yet, even with his bumps and sharp edges, katsuki tried to love you and let you in. still, youâd never thought youâd see the day when all of the blondeâs roughness, his bared fangs and callous tongue all melted away for another human being aside from you.Â
for your darling baby girl.Â
âwhoâs my âeepy lilâ girl? you are! yeah. you are, sweetheart. oh, whatâs that? big yawn for daddy?â the blonde coos with a sunshine smile that lights up the entirety of his well-aged face. youâre still young, for parents of a eight month old but even you can see the way that his hair is slightly silvered at his undercut thatâs growing out and there are finer lines under ruby framed eyes (the late nights and early starts are probably the reason for that).Â
still, with all of this, and even with your genetics throwing a spanner in the works â your daughter is the spitting image of bakugou and he loves her. he loves her pale blonde curls, big bambi red eyes and her all the parts about her that remind him of you.Â
pulling her from her crib to settle her on his hip, the bigger bakugou rubs the sleep from her eyes as she wakes up from her nap. âso freakinâ cute.â he hums, licking his thumb to wipe over the traces of tears on her cheeks.
ever since she was born, earlier and around spring time, bakugou has been absolutely obsessed with the tiny human version of him you'd blessed him with. heâll be the first one up at the crack of dawn when she cries for her breakfast, heâs happy to carry around her dynamight themed baby bag and always apologises to you when you have to change her explosive diapers (or he just does it for you.).
baby dynamight goes everywhere with her daddy, sheâd be on patrols if youâd let bakugou take her on them too. sheâs absolutely spoiled as well, with more clothes and toys and itty bitty little shoes a baby of her age would need despite how often you tell your husband that sheâll just grow out everything. perhaps your little girl is more spoiled than you â not that you mind, because it only means you get to witness adorable moments like these each and every day.
âkatsuki, sheâs supposed to be lying down.â you remind him gently, stepping past the threshold of the nursery to be by his side. your daughter instantly reaches out to curl three of her tiny fingers around your index, drooling in content between both of her parents.
bakugou looks down at you with a distraught pout. âyeah⊠but she woke up cryinâ fâme so i came to check on my sweepy wittol pwincess.â you giggle at how high pitched katsuki makes his voice when he talks about your daughter, baby-talking her whilst waving her tiny little hand at you. âsay hi to momma, sweet girl. say hi!âÂ
the mini bakugou tucked into his bulky arms lets out an excited squeal â though sheâs quickly distracted by mapping her hands up and down the squiggly lines (tattoos) on daddyâs arms.Â
âexactly,â you press, grabbing an uravity themed spit up cloth from the diaper station behind you moth. carefully, you mop up the drool tracks baby dynamight leaves on katsuki before dabbing at her chin as well. âweâre trying to get her to learn how to go back to sleep on her own. which means?âÂ
âleavinâ her to cry until she falls back to sleepâŠ.âÂ
âwhich is why?âÂ
bakugouâs shoulders sag in defeat. you know how much he hates leaving her to cry, itâs been difficult for him to adjust to not just picking her up whenever she needs or he wants to. âyou invited stupid deku over ân daddy has to have stupid drinks with his big stupid broccoli head, ainât that right gorgeous?â your baby grins with her gums again and bakugou blows a raspberry at her. âoh yeah? yes it is! look at that pretty girl smilinâ, just like momma.âÂ
you know heâs trying to butter you up for more time with her â youâre a sucker for the father-daughter bond they have already, you fear that you might melt if you look at the two of them together any longer. theyâre a sight for sore eyes, the two loves of your life cuddled up with each other, baby bakugouâs pudgy cheek resting on katsukiâs warm chest (no doubt lulling her back to sleep).
âkatsuki please,â you plead weakly, ready to give up on being the rain on this baby parade so you can scoop your little girl up and shower her with kisses. âwe have guests and she needs to go back to sleep. or sheâll be up in the middle of the night.âÂ
the elder blonde canât help the proud smile that illuminates his face as he watches his two girls together â the way you fiddle with her baby grow to make sure sheâs cosy. âsâokay, daddyâll wake up for you, wonât he?â bakugou sways from side to side, toying with all the tiny features on your daughter before catching your exasperated look. âalright, fine. back to sleep we go princess. donât mind mommy, sheâs jusâ beinâ meanie who wonât let me show you off.âÂ
thereâs a tender moment, where time stands still, while katsuki lowers his pride and joy back into her crib â fighting back what are probably tears as she clings onto every part of him, looking up at him with her matching big beautiful ruby eyes. he feels as though heâs looking into a mirror that reflects not only him but parts of you as well.Â
ânight night princess, goodnight! daddy loves yaââ
said moment is lost when izuku stops by the nursery on his way back down stairs from the bathroom. âwait, kacchan baby-talks?âÂ
âof course i do nerd!â bakugouâs head whips up faster than the speed of sound, and you have to refrain from laughing at how fast he goes from soft and tender father to dekuâs public enemy number one. âsheâs my fuckinâââ Â the blonde pauses after receiving a warning glance from you. no cursing in front of the baby. âfreakinâ kid!â
the number one raises his hands in surrender, sheepish laughter spilling out of him. ârelax kacchan! i was only teasing.âÂ
âtease my ass! you go ând have a kid with your partner ân see what it turns you into â in fact, âm surprised you donât have a whole litter already. what with the way you two are fuckinâ.â
âoh thatâs rich coming from you, kacchan. you guys literally conceived at my family barbecue last year!âÂ
âwell you fucked on my desk. my desk. so itâs only right that weâ!âÂ
while the boys bicker, you make quick work of ensuring your daughter is safely tucked in and her pacifier is popped into her mouth just in case she wakes up again and needs to soothe herself. stroking back her peach fuzz curls, you press a kiss to the soft membrane of her skull and pull back with a wistful grin while she drifts off to sleep again. her unfairly long lashes flutter against your hand, mostly inherited from her father.
âalright boys, thatâs enough!â you whisper yell, hands still on the bar of the crib to make âdonât you see that sheâs sleeping again? we wouldnât wanna wake her up, right?âÂ
katsuki pouts. âyouâre right, sorry, sweetness.âÂ
midoriya nods along agreeably, taking a peek at his sleeping niece from the doorway.âright! otherwise weâd have to send daddy back in there to save baby girlâs day. he canât resist his pwecious gwirl.âÂ
âi said shut the fuck up, izuku!â your husband snarls, cheeks burning fire truck red.Â
âyes daddy!â izuku bats his eyelashes at him.
âiâll kill you, nerd.â
âiâd like to see you try, daddy!â
âboys!âÂ
you do try your best to intercept, but your daughter beats you to it â waking up with a fresh set of tears and a wail so loud it has two big, burly pro heroes baby-talking her in an attempt to get her right back to sleep. Â

(the song will come in later :) )
You opted out of lessons for the day, honestly you havenât needed them for a while, you just liked being with the group, but now you and Aoânung have a facade to keep up. You sat in the Marui weaving the necklace, even though you were frustrated with Neteyam right now, you still wanted to make this.   Â
Youâre sure that these projects shouldnât take this long, but it was your first one, so you gave yourself some grace.    Â
"So this is where youâve been hiding out all day?â You look up to see Loâak standing at the entrance. You rolled your eyes, âYeah, unliked someone, I can afford to miss a few lessonsâ you teased.   Â
He threw his side bag at you, causing you to laugh, before he sat down across from you. âAoânung looked like a lost puppy without you aroundâ he quipped; you resisted the urge to smile. âAnd youâre over here pouting like a child.â you rolled your eyes again   Â
âI am not pouting, I am wishing that you would leave me be.â You kicked at him and he put his hands in the air.   Â
âAll right all right, I won't bother you anymore.â He laughed, dodging your kicks, but you landed one on his chest which pushed him on his back. âYou are the meanest sister Y/nâ he grumbled as you laughed.   Â
-Â Â Â Â
It was hard to ignore Aoânung, he was always around, and he did kind of look like a lost puppy... usually you would banter or explore the reef together, but now he stuck with Rotxo and you with Neteyam and Kiri. Stealing glances at each other and finding flowers in âout of the ordinaryâ places became a routine, as did meeting at the edge of the reef every night.    Â
Youâre sure that your family is growing suspicious of your nightly disappearances by now, but you couldnât find it in yourself to care.   Â
Lying on the rocks stargazing with Aoânung quickly became what you looked forward to everyday. You talked about anything and everything, life in the forest, growing up in the reef, family. Whatever you could talk about, you would.   Â
âOur parents talked to each other about us.â Aoânung stated, you sat up and looked at him, confusion splayed across your face. âApparently, we are a âbad influenceâ on each other...â he smirked   Â
Aoânung stayed lying on his back. You furrowed your brows, âBut we havenât even spoken to each other for days, at least in front of othersâ   Â
âYour parents say I've caused you to be too moodyâ He laughed, you rolled your eyes and smacked his chest.   Â
âWell, what about you lover boy? What bad influence have I had on you?â you teased, getting close to his face.   Â
Hs smile dropped and he looked away awkwardly, before you could question it you noticed a dark spot on his cheek. With how dark it was, you hadn't noticed until you were this close. You grabbed his face and turned it to get a better look, he protested but you had already seen it.   Â
âAoânung is this a bruise?â You questioned urgently, you looked him in the eyes, but he kept them averted. You frowned âAoânung...â you pleaded.   Â
He sat up and rubbed the back of his neck, âI uh...â you nodded for him to continue. âMom and dad say that youâve caused me to get into too many fights...â   Â
This was the first you were hearing of this... âWhat are you talking about?â you moved closer, placing a hand on his bruised cheek âDoes this have to do with my brothers?â you asked, ready to chew out the sully that couldnât butt out of your business.   Â
âNo no itâs not themâ he sighed, pausing for a moment. âThere were some guys talking about you and Kiri and... well they werenât being respectfulâ you didnât want to know what he meant by that. âI donât know, I tried to ignore it, but they started asking me questions about you and-â he gestured to his face.    Â
You frowned and cupped his face in your hands, âAtleast they look worseâ he added, amused. You rolled your eyes.   Â
âYou do not have to defend me, weâre supposed to be mad at each other remember?â You sat back and he leaned forward.   Â
âI know but I couldnât just let them talk like that about you and your sister...â he was only inches away from your face, you smiled. He went from being what you needed to be defended from from, to being the defender.   Â
If you had told yourself a year ago that youâd be sneaking around and lying to your family for some boy who almost got your brother killed, sheâd be feeding your head to your mothers ikranâŠÂ  Â
âWell please be careful next timeâ you placed a kiss on the bruise ânow it's not just my brother against us...â   Â
He smiled and grabbed your wrists, pulling you forward as he laid back down. You landed on his chest, a chuckle escaping your throat before you nestled into his side, arm wrapped around you. You could hear his heart beating, this was the closest you had ever been, you swore you could have fallen asleep like this.   Â
-Â Â Â Â
You didnât talk about Spider much, aside from conversations with Kiri and Jake comforting you, it was a touchy subject. Neytiri always tried to hide her scowl when he came up in conversation, Neteyam and Loâak didnât have much to say other than they missed him. It was like he was supposed to be forgotten.   Â
You knew he wasnât technically a part of the family, he was raised by the lab guys, but so were you. The more you thought about it, the more it bothered you. Spider was your brother, and they just kind of brushed off your worry about him.   Â
âHe is human. He will be fineâ Neytiri would always say. Neteyam and Loâak repeating the same sentiment, just more sympathetic and reassuring.    Â
What If I was the one that got caught?   Â
You wanted to ask them, but you were scared, of their reaction, their answer... so you didnât.   Â
But you wondered, and the more you did, the more you came to the conclusion that they probably wouldnât have done much to get you back. You know that you're not the same as Spider, but how would Jake and Neytiri view it?   Â
It was useless thinking about it, harmful even, you knew that, but you couldnât help it. So you found yourself spending more time with Kiri, she was the only one who could understand the heartbreak you harbored over your brother's capture.   Â
Out in broad daylight it was hard to have a private conversation in such a bustling village, so Kiri called for her ikran and held out her hand for you to mount after her. You raised a brow questioningly but took her hand before she had to explain.  Â
Before you knew it, you were flying above the village, circling as you closed your eyes and breathed in the air. It had been so long since youâd flown, spending most of your time swimming or in the Marui. Kiri did a few more laps before landing atop the mountains on the island, the view of the trees was somewhat nostalgic...  Â
âI thought youâd like it up hereâ She commented, placing her hand on your shoulder as you both sat on the edge, legs dangling far above ground.   Â
âI donât know why I never thought of thisâ you breathed, your shoulders relaxing, you didn't even know you were tense.  Â
âWell, you were a little distractedâ she bumped her shoulder against yours, you swatted her away, blushing.  Â
âI donât know what youâre talking about.â you denied, and she laughed  Â
âI am not dumb sister. Our brothers may not notice the looks he gives you but sooner or later they willâ she smirks, leaning in closer. You look away and continue to deny her accusations, it grows quiet for a second and your mind drifts back to spider, Kiri notices your change in demeanor.  Â
âY/n you know I was just teasing you right?â she offers, placing her hand on your shoulder. you shake your head âNo I know Kiri, I just...â placing your hand over hers âI miss my brother...â you whisper.  Â
She breathes out and scoots closer, you lay your head on her shoulder and she moves both your hands to the ground, still holding onto each other. âI know, I do too.â Is all she says, she doesnât try to overcompensate or comfort you about how heâll be fine, she just understands.  Â
Thatâs what you always liked about Kiri, even when you were upset over something stupid or didnât even understand your own feelings, she listened and understood. You were both adopted by the Sullys with scientist mothers loyal to the Naâvi, granted, Kiri was adopted from birth and had her mothers recording to connect with, but the fact still remains that theres more than just being âfamilyâ connecting you. Â
âI remember when we were little and heâd always try and carry you aroundâ She started, âNorm and Max didnât trust him, but you begged and begged to go outside, they could never say no to you.â you giggled at the memory.  Â
âOf course, Neteyam and Loâak would start arguing about how theyâd be better fit to carry youâ she drawled, you could practically hear how she rolled her eyes.Â
âAnd I'd get so sick of it that I'd just end up running off or getting carried by you.â you added.  Â
âLoâak would complain that you were slowing us down but back home heâd whine to mom about not being the one to look after youâ she giggledÂ
âI still donât get why it was such a big dealâ You mumbledÂ
âYou were curious about the world, you took it all in like you were one with itâ Kiri explained âMax was so protective though, you barely got any time out, so when you did, we didnât want anything happening that could confine you back to the labâ she played with the ends of your hair as she spoke. âAnd none of us trusted the others to not mess it up.â  Â
You thought for a moment before sitting up and laughing âSo all of that was just a way to one up each other?â you threw your head back âNo wonder you guys kept it going when I became Naâviâ  Â
She laughs with you, âYour brothers are all stupidâ she states, playfully punching your shoulder âAnd old habits die hard, I donât think Neteyam ever gave upâ  Â
You smiled âTeyam is...â you thought for a moment âmy twin. I might just have to get used to itâ you shrugged, a grin spreading across both your faces.  Â
âWell, if you ever need a moment to not be used to itâ She leaned in âI think I'm the only one who knows about this placeâ she whispers playfully, like sheâs telling you a secret in a crowd of people, before winking.  Â
You lamely stuck out your tongue as she snickered. Before anything else could be said, the horn that signals the return of dinner hunters sounded, you looked at each other before getting up and mounting her Ikran. Â
-Â Â Â
You decided to sit with Loâak in one of the village dinner circles, youâre not sure why, but you were surprised to see Tsireya and Aoânung among the group. You were almost directly across from Aoânung, and it was hard to resist scooting closer to him.   Â
âCan he stop ogling at you?â Loâak leans in to ask, you roll your eyes âMaybe when you stop ogling his sisterâ   Â
He scrunches his nose âIâm just saying it's weird, you guys have been at each other's throats for days and now he canât keep his eyes off of you?â He questions, raising his brows, his argument is reasonable, but youâd rather not encourage him. You just shrug and go back to tearing up your fish to eat.  Â
âHey maybe heâs into thatâ He adds, jabbing his elbow into your side.  Â
You whip your head around to him, eyes widened, mouth agape, a sound of disbelief escaping your mouth. He only laughs and picks up a piece of your fish, placing it in your mouth and closing it with his hand.  Â
You spit the food at him, and it was your turn to laugh as he frowned at you. Tsireya laughed at the interaction between you two and Loâakâs scowl fell into a bashful smile as they shared glances at eachother. You made eye contact with Rotxo and Aoânung, you rolled your eyes as they smirked at Loâakâs awkward crush.  Â
âMaybe I ought to tell her youâre into that huh?â you chuckled into his ear, bringing back his scowl, he flipped you off before swatting you away.   Â
You spent dinner chatting away with the Metkayina your age, and Loâak reminding you multiple times to âeat or your food will get coldâ or a finger in front of your lips that pointed down to your food as soon as you stopped talking.   Â
Tsireya complimented you on your tweng, sparking a conversation on weaving and accessories. You shared stories of the different bracelets and additions to your necklace, how you helped Neytiri weave Tukâs first clothes, and when she outgrew them Neytiri wove a piece of it into your necklace before it was repurposed.   Â
She showed you the beads from her first underwater ceremony she performed under her mother, with this, others joined in. Rotxo telling the story of the bones on his necklace, Loâak showed off the teeth of his first kill in the forest, Tsireya listening intently. Aoânung spoke of the beads on his armband and the giant tooth woven into his necklace. the one he took off and insisted you wear while together just the night before.  Â
The conversation was lively and shifted from topic to topic, until some started to yawn and parents came to collect their children, until only a few of you were left. Rotxo and Aoânung shoved at each other as Tsireya and Loâak were immersed in a conversation about the forest, others continued their conversations. You stared up to the sky before a smile fell on your lips and stood up.  Â
You walked around the group, as you passed by Aoânung you flicked his back with your tail. You kept walking but glanced back and made eye contact with him, you smiled and continued to the shoreline on the other side of the village. You sat in the sand drawing for a few minutes before you heard him coming. Â
âTook you long enoughâ you teased, standing up to be face to face with him. Â
âI didnât want to be too obviousâ He twirled the hair that framed your face with his finger. Grinning, you took a step back. Â
âI think itâs a little unfairâ You drawled, taking slow steps backwards, âThat i've learned to swimâ with every step you took back, he took one forward. You stopped and you were face to face again âbut you haven't learned to flyâ Â
His face dropped; your grin only grew wider. Â
You resisted the urge to yell as you shot through the air, Aoânungâs hands holding onto your hips tightly. It was dark but not so dark that you couldnât see, you flew out past the village and reef. TsyĂa cried out, it had probably been a while since she had stretched her wings like this. A smile etched onto your face as you soared through the air. Last time you were over the ocean you were filled with dread, now all you can feel exhilaration.  Â
You couldnât help the cheers and laughter that escaped you as you accelerated, the waves below you crashed into each other, the sound reminding you of thunder, spraying water on your skin. Slowly you ascend upwards, the ocean now far below you.  Â
âHow ya doing back there fishlips?â you smirked. Â
âIâll be fine as long as we don't faAA-â you cut him when TsyĂa jerked down suddenly, leveling just above the ocean and tilting to the side so the tip of her wing could glide against the water. You laughed as his grip tightened and he jumped closer to you. When he realized what you did, he smacked you on the side of the head. Â
You snickered âDonât worry, I won't let you fallâ you titled your head back to look at him, delighted look on your face. He still looked uneasy, but he nodded with a smile, he placed his hand on your thigh and wrapped his other arm completely around your waist. Â
Admittedly, the position was much more secure and comfortable, but you shifted, his skin on yours felt like fire compared to the cool air nipping at you. Â
You leaned forward more as TsyĂa started to circle, not wanting to stray too far from the village. You let your body hang towards the sea as she started to tilt, the circles getting tighter, spurring on her speed. You laughed, thrill and adrenaline buzzing through your veins. Â
As TsyĂa twisted to the point you were almost upside down, out of the corner of your eye you saw Aoânung reach down and graze the surface of the water with his fingers. Thank Eywa you secured both of you to the saddle. Â Â
You noticed it was starting to get late, so you decided it was time to start heading back to the village, a shame since Aoânung had just started to let loose. You evened out and made a steady pace back to the reef. Â
Your head fell back resting on Aoânungs chest as you looked down at the ocean. Â
âItâs beautiful, isn't it?â You hummed, listening to his heart as it beat steadily.Â
âI can only wonder what the forest looks likeâ he pressed his lips to the side of your head. âYou must show me one dayâ he whispered. Â
A smile grew on your face, you nodded, breathing in the air as it whipped against your face.  Â
As you landed on a secluded part of the beach, you prepared to dismount but Aoânung beat you to it. He stood to your side, wordlessly he held your hips in his hands and lifted you off and onto the ground, your hands landing on his shoulders for stability. Â
You pouted, insisting you could do it yourself but he simply laughed, leaning into whisper in your ear âI know.â Â
-Â Â
You weren't there when Kiri had her seizure, Neytiri and Ronal had taken through the island to collect difference herbs and plants, you ignored Ronalâs subtle remarks about you being too clumsy or ungraceful, it took another kind of patience to calm your mother so she wouldnât attack the pregnant Tsahik. Â
You were sorting what you had collected when Neteyam and Rotxo came rushing into the Marui with Kiri in their arms, Jake not far behind them already making a call to the biolab. Before you could ask what happened, or even get a good look at your sister, you were ushered out of the Marui.  Â
You stayed close to the entrance, peaking your ear in, you heard Neteyam explaining to Neytiri that she had a seizure under water. Â
Thatâs when you started to hyperventilate. Loâak noticed but Aoânung was the first to act, pulling you into his arms and speaking to you softly, repeating instructions from your breathing lessons. His voice low and firm.  Â
You werenât calm at all, but you had your breathing under control now. Loâak placed a hand on your shoulder, telling you that the lab guys would be here soon, and Kiri would be fine. Â
It didnât take long for Norm and Max to run their analysis, but Neytiri had grown impatient and brought Ronal to take over, trusting her position as Tsahik over any human technology. As they walked out of the Marui you perked up and ran over to them. Â
âSpell! Pa!â You called out to them. Growing up everyone called Max âDr Patelâ and Norm âSpellmanâ, you of course being so young, couldnât pronounce it and settled on just the âSpellâ and âPaâ part. No one ever corrected you, so you never really grew out of it. Â
They turned around, their mood immediately changing once they saw you. Norm, being in his avatar, picked you up by the armpits and swung you around before placing you on the ground for a hug. âBirdie! How are ya kid?â  Â
Just like how your brother was given his nickname because of how much he crawled around, you were called Birdie because of how you supposedly âsquawkedâ as a baby, you're just glad it didnât stick like Spiderâs did. Â
Max placed a hand on your arm before pulling you in for a hug, ironic how now you were the taller one. Â
âIâm good, just worried about Kiriâ You pulled away they looked at you sympathetically. âDonât worry kid, sheâs gonna be fineâ Â
You let them both place a kiss on your forehead before retreating to the Marui so they could talk with your dad. As you took your place next to Loâak, both he and Aoânung were giving you amused looks. Â
âBirdieâ They both questioned in unison, you rolled your eyes. âSomething neither of you have the privilege of calling meâ you state as you flick Loâak forehead. Â
Before either of them can say anything else, you hear Tuk exclaim that Kiri was awake. You peak inside to see your mother holding her hand, Tuk leaning over her, as she starts to cry. Â
It breaks your heart; you want nothing but to rush in and comfort her but you know she needs space, so you stay back. Loâak frowns the same as you rubs your shoulder saying he was right, that she is ok. Â
You lean back into Aoânungâs chest as you gaze at your sister, he wraps his arms around you, placing his chin on your shoulder. You were to wrapped up in your sisters distress that you didnât notice Ronal walking out of the Marui until she stopped in her place, glaring at your display.  Â
âSon.â her voice is cold, Aoânung jerks his head up, his ears immediately dropping. She doesnât say anything, she doesnât even acknowledge you, she just coldly glared at Aoânung before nodding for him to follow her.  Â
Wordlessly he lets go of you, he gives you an apologetic look before following his mother. Â
You can tell your heart is only going to break even further... Â
-Â Â
âWhat did I tell you son?!â His mother barked, he held his head down, his fists clenching. Â
âYou do not reprimand Tsireya for hanging out with Loâak!â He points out.  Â
âTsireya is not starting fights and slacking on her work because of him.â His mother hisses. She circles around him, picking up his hand to show him his bruised knuckles. âThat girl is inept, her connection to Eywa scant.â Â
He frowns âYou cannot know that mother-!â âDo not talk back boy.â She cuts him off. Â
He helplessly looks to his father who has been observing the whole time, he sighs and stands up. âRonal, dear, you are being hard on the boyâ Â
âI am talking sense into him. He has already made a fool of us; I will not let the son of the Oloâeyktan court a forest girl when our Tsakarem is already a fool for the forest boy.â she snarled. Aoânung dug his nails into his palms. Â
âThey have come here to learn our ways and become reef peopleâ Tonowari calmly stated, Ronal narrowed her eyes. Â
âYou let them into our clan and now you let our children mingle with them.â Her voice was steady. âIf it werenât for Tsireya, that girl would be considered an option for Tsahik?â  Â
âMother! It is not like thatâ Aoânung defends Â
She turns her attention back to him, hissing âI have seen you two, do not think your midnight escaped have gone unnoticed.â Â
Shit. Â
Aoânung looked down, embarrassment coursing through his body. Â
âI have stayed quiet but I will no longer. Stay away from her.â She hisses before turning and leaving the Marui. Â
Aoânung stands there, words caught in his throat. Tonowari places a hand on his shoulder. âListen to your mother, son.â Â
-Â Â
You tried to not cry when Aoânung didnât show up that night, you knew it was probably his mother, but you still couldnât help the shame and betrayal that stung at your heart. You waited for hours, you twirled the last flower he gifted you between your finger, the petals falling off wilted.Â
When you showed up at the pod in the middle of the night, tears running down your face, arms wrapped around yourself, you were surprised to see Neteyam and Kiri up. They were whispering about something, probably her seizure, but as soon as they saw you, it was long forgotten. Â
They soothed you and help you close as you cried, they didnât ask what happened, they could probably guess pretty easily, they just cradled you until you fell asleep in their arms. Your face buried against Neteyamâs chest; Kiriâs arms wrapped around your middle.  Â
You felt guilty for interrupting their conversation but the next morning they insisted it wasnât a problem, that they were glad you came to them. So you spent your entire morning huddled in the corner of the Marui with Kiri, neither of you having the energy to socialize.  Â
Maybe you were being dramatic but you really didnât want to face Aoânung or Ronal.  Â
You and Kiri had talked about her seizure, how he was sure it was because of the questions she asked her mother, but that was it. You fell into a comfortable silence until Tuk can barreling in. Â
âKiri! Y/n! Câmon you have to come see!!â She squeals, jumping up and down in the entrance. When neither of you seemed receptive, she came in and started dragging the both of you. Kiri protested until She got a glimpse of what was happening in the reef. Â
âThe Tulkun are here!!â Tuk yelled. You stared in awe at the giant creatures filling the reef. Kiri and Tuk both jumped into the water, ready to meet the Tulkun, but you simply walked to the edge of the dock gaping at the sight. Â
âY/nâ you heard him say your name, you looked down nervously to see Aoânung on his ilu in the water under you. âI am sorry about last night but pleaseâ he reached his hand out to you âCome meet my spirit brotherâ The apology in his eyes is genuine, you could tell it had pained him how you were visibly hurt and on edge.Â
Hesitantly, you took his hand and he pulled you down, quickly grabbing a hold of you to place you on the back of his ilu. His hand braced your thigh as he sped off into the crowd of Tulkun. You watched in amazement, the creatures circling far below and bonding with the Metkayina.Â
A Tulkun jumped out of the water, twisting as it fell back in, the children watching laughing and trying to copy the movement.Â
âThere he is!â He exclaimed âMy spirit brother!â He quickened his pace until a Tulkun broke the surface, stopping you both. Â
âOmui!â Aoânung grinned âHow are youâ he placed his hand next to the Tulkunâs front eye. Omui responded with a noise that you couldnât understand and Aoânung laughed. âI have been fine, mother and father think I have caused too much trouble thoughâ He signed as he spoke. Â
The Tulkun made another noise before itâs eyes shifted to you, you tensed up. Â
Aoânung patted your thigh, âI want to introduce you to Y/n, she is a girl I have met...â His shy grin explaining more than his words, you blushed equally as hard. Â
Another noise was made, and you leaned closer to Aoânung. âI have no idea what he is sayingâ you admitted Â
He grins at Omui before looking back at you âHe says you are beautiful, that I have fine tasteâ you feel as if a volcano erupted in your face, a hand coming up to hide your shy smile. Â
Nervously you signed back âThank you, you are just as beautifulâ He cried out again with what you can only guess was amusement.Â
You laughed as Omui and Aoânung shared stories with each other, slowly you started to understand the Tulkun. Tsireya and Loâak swam by to greet Omui, briefly talking about you and Aoânung right in front of you.Â
You reached over an smacked Loâak every time he or Tsireya made a comment about it, ignoring his complaints of getting punished for what Tsireya says.Â
The rest of the day was spent celebrating, telling stories, and dancing. The music was played from the beach, many Naâvi joining in with their instruments and singing. Many danced atop the Tulkun, there were obviously more experienced dancers, as the seemed to be the focus, but plenty simply danced with each other song to song.Â
Tsireya and Rotxo insisted on you and your siblings joining them in a group dance. You werenât completely clueless, as many of the songs and dances had been performed at feasts and other small celebrations, but you and Loâak still stumbled and ran into each other continuously, bickering about whoâs fault it was.Â
Often you and Neteyam took turns dancing with Tuk, she jumped around with no regard to the beat or rhythm, until Kiri swept her up in her arms once she was tired out. This left you and Neteyam together, he clearly found amusement in how uncoordinated you were, but he always caught you and was patient when helping you stay with the beat when you fumbled.Â
Neteyam laughed as he watched the the dismay on your face when Aoânung and Rotxo pulled you all along in a dance the required hopping from Tulkun to Tulkun, and many seemingly advanced steps. You screeched as you fell an embarrassing amount of times, but Teyam always covered for you, âfallingâ far less gracefully more than a few times or catching you.Â
You were dizzy and tired out by the time you made it back to Omui, falling into the water when Loâak and Rotxo made an abrupt stop. You groaned and stated you wouldnât dance anymore, they picked at you for a bit but eventually dispersed, leaving only you and Aoânung who sat on his ilu with you while you regained your energy. Â
As it got closer to night, more mellow, soothing songs were played. Aoânung grinned and held out his hand as he stood on top of Omui, recognizing which song would come next.Â
âWhat if we are seen?â You whispered, hesitating to take his hand. Â
He glanced around before turning back to you, reaching his hand out further âThen we are seen.â Â
(Play the song now I think?)Â Â
And with that you placed your hand in his and he pulls you up, you glance around and realize youâre now farther to the back of the reef. He wraps his arm around your waist and holds your hand in his, slowly swaying you both to the music. Â
You kept glancing around as people started whistling to the song, instruments playing in the background, but your attention snapped to Aoânung when he started softly singing the lyrics. Â
Wasnât really thinking, wasnât looking, wasnât searching for an answer Â
You stared at him, he continued to grin as he swayed you to the music. Â
In the moonlight. When I saw your face... Â
You bit back a smile as he leaned in closer Â
Saw you looking at me, saw you peeking out from under moon beams Â
There were plenty of actual performers on the beach singing, but it felt like all you could hear was him. His eyes were completely fixated on you.Â
Through the palm trees, swaying in the breeze. Â
He dipped you, moving your hand to his chest as your head fell back, a laugh escaping your lips. Â
I know I'm feeling so much more than ever before Â
You held your head up but he kept you in the dipped position, his face now only inches away from yours. Â
And so I'm giving more to you than I thought I could do~Â Â
He pulled you so you were now standing up, he stepped back, now engulfing both your hands in his. Â
Donât know how it happened donât know why but you donât really need a reason Â
He leaned closer, he brought one of your hands up to his lips and pressed a kiss to it, a grin spreading across his face. You giggle shyly, not wanting to look away. Â
When the stars shine Â
His fingers now intertwined with yours, your arms extended outwards in a slow fall to your sides,Â
Made to love each other, made to be together for a lifetime Â
He twirled you, not letting go of each other of your hands, so you were now locked in an embrace with his holding you from the back. Â
In the sunshine Â
His breath tickled your ear, causing you to giggle Â
Flying in the sky Â
He held you tighter and shook you gently, you laughed, your head falling back to rest on his shoulder Â
I know I'm feeling so much more than ever before Â
He slowly released you; he planted a hand on your waist as you turned around to face him again Â
And so I'm giving more to you than I thought I could do Â
He closed his eyes, getting into the song, leaning in closer. Â
He wrapped his arm around your waist again, taking your hand in his, swaying to the music. You stared at each other. His forehead rested against yours, as he twirled you, he placed a chaste kiss on it. You giggled as he continued to sway with you. Â
Now I know love Is real Â
You tilted you head so that your foreheads no longer touched, instead your noses didÂ
You had heard this song once before; you could only remember the last few lines, so you softly sang back to him. Â
So when sky high as the angels try, leaving you and I, Â
Your lips were only inches apart as you whispered the last words to each other Â
Fly love... Â
You stared at each other for a few moments before Omui sprayed water out of his blow hole, interrupting the moment. Â
âOmui! Gross!â Aoânung yelled, but you could only laugh, he turned to look at you, his frown softening as he watched you. Â
You swam back to the docks on his ilu when it got dark, your cheek pressed against his back, arms wrapped around his waist, his hand over yours. You could faintly hear his heartbeat, strong and steady.Â
âAoânung.â You jumped at the cold voice. You peaked from behind his shoulder to see both your parents standing on the dock, your parents looking at you disappointed, Ronal and Tonowari angry. Â
âBoth of you.â The Tsahik pointed in the direction of her Marui âNow.â Â
Katsuki Bakugou x F!Reader
Warning: Angst, characrer death, dark themes talked about, hurt, fluff *more at the end*,
Summary: How do you move on when your childhood love has left you behind, with your one year old child too.
How long had it been? A day? A week? Time had seemed to slip by at different speeds ever since that night.
It seemed like any other day where you kissed Katsuki goodbye on his way out the door, your son Katsu giggling as he waved bye-bye to his father, "Bye-bye!" He cheered, Katsuki smirking and placing a kiss on his sons forehead, "Look after your Mama for me little man, Papa will be back tonight," you could only laugh and wish him luck and to be safe out on patrol, "I will, don't worry, I'll be back tonight and we can talk about how we're gonna take the little bud to our special place, that sound good, huh Blossom?" You beamed and nodded, leaning up for one last kiss goodbye. Katsuki turned and walked down the stairs to his car, though he couldn't help but turn and look at you two one last time, an actual smiling rising to his face. He waved once more before getting in and driving away in his car, honking a final goodbye like he did every morning.
Yet things would never be like every morning again.
Katsuki normally came home around 5PM, so you knew somthing was wrong when it had reached 7PM and you hadn't received a phone call, even a text letting you know he was running late or had stopped somewhere on the way home. Of course, God hears prayers and your phone began to ring as you picked it up, seeing Kirishimas contact number. "Hey Kiri! Is everything okay?""(Y-Y/n)" he choked out, this causing you to stand alert and question him again, "what's wrong? What happened?" Kirishimas voice shook as he tried to find the courage and strength to continue, "B-bakubro..h-hes in very rough shape, they don't know if he's gonna..gonna.." he couldn't finish the sentence, his voice breaking again as he found it hard to continue without sobbing. You could only hear your ears ring as the phone slipped out of your hand and landed with a BANG on the tiled floor. Scrambling to pick up the phone it all seemed to happen in a flash and you demanded to know where he was as you grabbed Katsu and your shoes, running out the door.
You could barely remember getting to the hospital. Barely remembering the train ride there as you held Katsu close to you. A silent prayer for your husband to be okay. You could barely remember begging to see your husband, needing to see him. Katsu crying from the over stimulation of the noise and action going on around him and you doing the same as the Drs informed you they did all they could.
"His injuries were too severe, I'm so sorry,"
Silence and ringing flooded your ears as you dropped to the floor, a pain taking over your chest as your held Katsu to you. A nurse kneeling beside you to pat your back wasn't even acknowledged as you screamed for Katsuki. Fellow Pro Heros stood off to the side, classmates and friends, all with tears of their own.
Katsuki had been the one to run back into a Villain attack to save a child. A child a little older than Katsu, whose Mother had been separated from her in the first Villain attack that blew up a street corner. Katsuki had been a true Hero to the end. Risking his life for others, and now his life had come to an end.
Kirishima and Midoriya came over to console you, yet they knew nothing they said could help the pain and devastation you felt inside. Your husband, your childhood sweet heart was gone. Ripped from you and your child forever. Tears flowed down your face from your red rimmed (E/c) eyes as you bent over, gagging and sobbing, your body literally sick and hurt from the news.
You don't remeber leaving, you don't remember getting home to meet Mitsuki and Masaru there. You don't remeber the four of you embracing as you shed tears together. The only thing you could remember was how empty your heart seemed from that point on.
~~
"Papa"
It seemed to be Katsu's new favorite word, before he never really seemed to talk but ever since Katsuki, he'd been growing more and more. His words expanding more each day but yet he still chose 'Papa' and would always seem to stare at the pictures of him on the wall. The pictures you couldn't bare to look at, yet you couldn't find it in you to take down.
You stared at your bundle of joy who sat on his baby blanket in the living room, yourself seated on the couch. It was an early Saturday morning, almost two months after Katsuki had been ripped from your lives. His presence seemed to slowly leave the house too, though it was also because you couldn't being yourself to remember him much, the pain so crushing that you'd start crying all over again. Grieving was painful and sometimes you just didn't acknowledge it, holding onto the hope that Katsuki would somehow walk through the door.
Observing your child, sorrow filled your heart as you clenched your chest tightly with your fist. His hair was the same spiky blonde of his father's, his eyes the sharp vermillion, only they seemed more round and gentle like yours. At least. That's what Katsuki would say and he would boast on how his son was a looker but bad your charms. Those love and warmth filled days seemed so far in the past, but had it really only been a few months ago?
A knock broke you out of your depressive thoughts as you sighed, standing up from the couch and brushing your hands through your messed up (H/c) locks to seem more presentable. Opening the door your came face to face with your Mother-In-Law who smiled and in her hands she held a medium sized box. "Hi Honey, how're you today?" Mizuki had made it her mission to come around every other day to check on you. Even though she'd lost a son, she knew this was hard on you as well. Losing a best friend, a lover, a husband and the father to your child.
You forced a smile and invited her in, "I'm doing fine,"you couldn't fool her, but she hoped what she'd brought you would help the process of healing and acceptance. "I found some old things, I thought you'd wanna see,"
Having taken a seat on your couch, Katsu yelled in excitement, standing up on wobbly legs to toddle over to his Grandma who scooped him up and hugged him, and she couldn't help but imagine she was hugging her Katsuki again.
Opening the box, you were taken back as you stared at old photographs. Ones taken of you and Katsuki, even your old friends. Tears pricked your eyes as you reached out a shaky hand and picked one up. It was a quick snapshot of you and Katsuki, both dressed in your U.A uniforms on the first day of school.
"Oh look how precious you are! Come on Katsuki smile for once dammit!" Mizuki scolded, wanting him to at least pretend to be happy. You laughed at his expression as he yelled to his mother in annoyance, "Damn Hag! We're gonna be late of you don't knock your shit off!" Taking a hold of his arm, you wrapped yours around him and smiled to Mizuki, who took a picture as Katsukis face turned bright red and he looked elsewhere but the camera, embarrassed you'd been so close. Looking up at him with your big, (e/c) eyes, you squeezed his arm and he looked to you, the pink flush still apparent on his face. "Yeah yeah, whatever Blossom," he grumbled, but moved his arm to put it around your shoulders as his mom took another picture, this one of you both actually looking happily at eachother.
You put your hand up to your mouth to quiet your sobs, but Mizuki just smiled and rested a hand ontop of yours that held the picture shakingly. "Its hard to forget someone who left so many memories, but he'd want you to embrace what you had together, what you still have together," Mizuki brought you in for a hug as you cried, Katsu not knowing what was going on, yet he sensed you needed comfort so he climbed into your lap, wrapping his arms around you and squeezed, your arms coming around him as you hugged him back.
~
When Mizuki had gone, you sat back down at the table where the photographs were and laying them out in front of you and Katsu, you could only smile in as you riminisced how much love you and Katsuki had shared in the time you had together.
"Oi! Let's go dammit, I ain't got all fucking day Blossom," Katsuki called out to you as he entered your classroom. Your classmates however could only look in shock as you bounced from your seat, rushing over to him as he turned and began to walk out the door. "We're having lunch outside, I don't feel like being around all the stupid extras from class," "Aww but isn't Midoriya in your class? Maybe we should invite him!" "NO WAY IN HELL! THAT DAMN DEKU CAN DROWN IN HIS OWN PISS FOR ALL I CARE AND DONT TALK ABOUT HIM," It always amused you how easy it was to get him riled up, his hands popping with small explosions as he rounded on you, though you knew he'd never hurt you. Giggling you took a picture of him in his angry mode as you held up a peace sign, his expression blowing up more once he realized what you were doing. Of course, he'd never admit that seeing you happy made him happy. Not now at least.
"Your Papa always treated me so nice, I hope you'll treat your someone the same way," you softened your expression to Katsu who looked at the picture with large eyes full of wonder, "Papa," he mumbled, reaching a hand out to the picture as if he could really feel his Father.
This made your lips quiver with another round of tears, emotion flooding to you like when you'd first told Katsuki about Katsu.
You sat nervously in your house, Katsuki was due home anytime now. You guys had only been married a few months, only two years out of high school as you wanted some time before marriage to focus on your careers a little more. Yet by 20 and 21 years old Katsuki couldn't take it anymore and proposed, confessing on how he'd wanted to do this since the last year of high school and how he wanted to grow old with you, like how you'd been growing together since childhood.
Yet here you stood, just having turned 21 and pregnant, and Katsuki never really spoke about children, you two seemed to have been content with eachother that who knows what a baby could bring into the mix. "Hey I'm home," his voice called out as you froze, it was now or never. Turning to him, he could tell right away somthing was wrong, "What's-" "IM PREGNANT" You screeched at him, face bright red as he just stared at you, vermillion eyes shot wide and his mouth dropped open. His bag that was slung around his shoulder also fell to the floor, it's THUD being the only noise heard for a good minute. Of course Katsuki broke out of it with a large grin, whooping as he dashed over to you and picked you up. Spinning around he screaming in happiness, "HELL YEAH! IM GONNA FUCKING BE A DAD!" You cheered too as he set you down, tears forming in his eyes as he pressed his hand to your stomach, his forehead resting against your own as you smiled to each other. "Thank you," was all he said before kissing you.
You ran your fingers through Katsu's hair, now feeling a blazing warmth fill you as you looked back on all the amazing memories with him. An idea struck you though which made you smile softly, picking up your small budding boy and carrying him upstairs. There was something you wanted to share with Katsu, and tomorrow would be the day to do it.
~
Dawning a light pink sundress that happened to be one of Katsuki'a favorites on you, you dressed Katsu in a matching pink shirt and a pair of tan shorts. Heading out of the house, you took a quick train ride over to a park. The warm Spring day enveloping you as you walked with Katsu down the sidewalk, his small eyes taking in everything he could.
Settling down on an old wooden bench, the white paint faded from the few years of weather damage, you turned toward Katsu and motioned to the area. "This is where Mama met Papa," of course him being 1 and a half he didn't quite understand, but yet he looked at the flowers that surrounded you, noticing a particular one, "Mama" and reached out the special orange flower that had caught his eye, when a small, yellowish butterfly landed on it.
Your eyes widened in surprise as you took notice of the small creature. Butterflies had always been your favorite, as your quirk revolved around plants and flowers, Butterflies naturally came as a favorite for their beautiful wings.
Katsuki when learning this had said he'd wanna be a Butterfly just so he could be around your flowers all day, and be with you always. A look of fondness crossed your face as you reached out to the butterfly, it's wings beating twice as it flew onto your finger and you brought it slowly over to Katsu who grinned, his cheeks lighting up pink as he squealed, "Papa!," and you could only nod and close your eyes for a moment as you imagined Katsuki, relishing in the moments you'd had together.
"Hey, what's your problem?" A boyish voice had broken through your quiet sobs, you turning toward the voice to see a young boy with spiky blonde hair and red eyes staring at you confused, though his cheeks flushed a light pink when your glossy (e/c) eyes met his. "I-I was just growing m-my flowers when some m-mean b-boys ruined them," you choked out, motioning to the ruined orange flowers that sat beside you, their petals all torn and missing, the stems mangled from behind yanked apart. Katsuki wasn't sure how to handle this, usually if someone was crying he'd just ignore them or tell them to suck it up. Yet with you he actually wanted to make you feel better, he just wasn't sure on how to go about that in this moment.
Katsuki looked around and found an orange flower, seemingly matching the ones you had next to you, causing him to he pick a few and brought it over to you, where you still sat sniffling a little. He held his hand out and presented them to you, his cheeks a darker red when your eyes widened in surprise before a smile took over your chubby face, "Cosmos? What are these for?"You questioned, taking them from his hands and as your fingers brushed against eachother he shivered and turned away with a pout, "I just want you to stop crying, you look ugly when you cry," he winced when he realized what he did and had said, but he looked back in surprise when you giggled, standing up to face him properly, "My name is (L/n) (Y/n), do you wanna be friends?" You held your hand out to him, and he could only smirk and nod, introducing himself, "The name is Bakugou Katsuki, I'm gonna be the Number 1 Hero one day," you laughed, taking his hand and running off to the playground, your moms taking a quick picture of the interaction from afar.
You felt a sense of relief flood through you, your arm around Katsu as he laughed watching the Butterfly leave, some more joining it in the sky. You kissed his head and looked up to the setting sun, the wind caressing both of you under the orangeish pink sky. "We'll be okay," you mumbled, feeling a lingering touch on your head.
"Yeah, we'll be okay,"

Ao'nung x Reader [Word count: 5.8k]
All characters are aged-up to 18!! (okay not all, but-)
Warnings: Aoânung being a jerk, mentions of death, bullying, smoochingÂ
âIf we do not find someone worthy of being our mates, weâll mate each other,â Aoânung scoffed as you muttered a promise, seemingly frustrated by the idea of being one with you. An innocent declaration that none of the two of you expected to be rekindled in due time.
You have known the children of the Metkayina clanâs olo'eyktan and tsahik for as long as you can remember, being in close age with the two. The idea of being playmates struck your parents after seeing the two of you, along with Tsireya and Rotxo. The two of you were inseparable as young naâvi, having learned to breathe, swim, weave and heal collectively, and however intolerable the idea is to you right now, it has always been you and Aoânung who get paired up with each other in various chores. As you grew up however, Aoânungâs attitude towards your peers have also gone into a drastic change, as if he was above everyone, developing a penchant for sneering at every naâvi that approaches the two of you. You, on the other hand, thought of every naâvi you interact with as equals, being of no noble position as him. This very reason caused a rift between your companionship, forming your respective circles, frequent greetings turning into brief glances and side eyes, only communicating when training or when you are tasked with healing him. However, you understood the growing distance between the two of you, as you had different interests and responsibilities. The arrival of Jake Sully and his family was the one responsible for both rekindling and downfall of your relationship. An unwanted occurrence by most of the village percentile although your life would not be the same if it were not for them.
It was a bright day when the former oloâeyktan of the Omatikaya tribe had sought sanctuary in Awaâatlu. You and Tsireya were tasked with weaving nets when a ginormous silhouette of flying creatures flew over you, earning a worried glance from Tsireya. Your heart sped up at the thought of sky people discovering an obsession towards your village, you immediately clicked your tongue and called for your ilu, Orâma. Cautious at the arrival of the ikrans, you dove with your ilu to approach the shores, noticing other villagers approach the forest naâvi, some hissing with threat. Peering from the waters, you spotted familiar faces, deciding to detach yourself from the ilu and see what the commotion is all about. A bunch of tsurak accompanied by warriors resurfaced from the waters, that flew above the people, signaling that the oloâeyktan had arrived to take care of the matters. Gulping at the building anxiety, you looked for immediate safety, finding Aoânungâs wary stance, stalking behind the ikran, searching for any danger. Having a glance around you once more, you gave up finding your parents and ran towards Aoânung, gripping his left arm for protection. Â
Landing on the sand, the new faces earned hisses from all around them, causing the tallest figure to raise his hands as if he was surrendering, followed by his family. You peeked a glance at the ikran, gasping in amazement at their strong wings, wincing in fright when you met a particular naâviâs eyes, ducking your head behind Aoânungâs larger frame, forcing him to shield you with the arm you were gripping, puffing his chest with a threatening gaze at the eldest son of Jake Sully. Rotxo snickered at the size of their tails, âIt is too small, how are they supposed to swim?â, he laughed, earning a chuckle from Aoânung and a swat on the hand from Tsireya. âDo not. Rotxo, Aoânungâ she scolded, her eyes widening as a warning. Your furrowed eyebrows did not help the smile of reassurance directed to your friend. A glare from one of the Omatikayan siblings made you more nervous, squeezing Aoânungâs arm as your ears flattened down in panic. Â
As far as you know, you did not do anything to anger the female naâvi, so why was she rolling her eyes at you?
âMawey, (y/n), mawey,â Aoânung whispered, backing up when his father walked to the center of the crowd to address the problem at hand. You frowned at the words being exchanged, realizing how crucial it must be for their family to be let in, as they were in need of hiding from the sky people. Asking for uturu is no childsplay, considering that it is still the village leadersâ decision if they would be letting in those who asked for sanctuary. Â
Ronal went through them one by one, analyzing what use they could be of in the reef, having no physical trait to aid them in swimming. Hisses were let out when she raised one of the naâviâs hands, having an extra finger to it, a sign that they have demon blood flowing in them. Â
âThey are not even real naâvi!â she exclaimed, holding up the girlâs hands, one extra finger on display.
The girl whom you found glaring at you refuted, âYes, we are!â You winced at the confused dread you sensed in her voice, finding it in yourself to sympathize with her. Being close to the chiefâs children meant that you hang out with either or both of them often. You were witness to Aoânungâs condescending demeanor, and have made aware of how painful his words are. Something that he must have inherited from his mother, Ronal. Â
Countless thoughts filled your mind, only subsiding when you heard Tonowariâs decision, âToruk Makto, and his family will stay with us,â the faces of the forest naâvi lightened up, âTreat them as our brothers and sisters. They do not know the sea, so they will be like babies taking their first breath.â The mate of Jake Sully turned her gaze away, offended at the statement. âTeach them our way so they do not suffer the shame of being useless,â Tonowari emphasized, turning his attention again to Jake Sully, nodding at the family.Â
âAlright, what do we say?â He urged, thank youâs being muttered by the rest of his family.Â
âMy son Aoânung, our daughter Tsireya, will show your children what to do,â a grimace morphing in Aoânungâs face, whilst the complete opposite reaction was written on Tsireyaâs. She beamed at the family, and her brother sought an escape from unwanted duties. Â
âFather whyââÂ
âIt has been decidedâ
It has been decided.
It wasnât too long until you had to interact with the new faces, having been invited by Tsireya to dive with them, along with Rotxo and of course, Aoânung. You warily distanced yourself from the navy blue naâvi, sticking close to Aoânung, since Tsireya was enthusiastic with her newly acquired duties. You waved at Tuktirey, or Tuk, as what she asked you to call her. You found her adorable, having no siblings of your own. You swam closely to the reef, glancing behind you to ensure that they were following you, when you saw them swim upwards, Rotxo looking at them with disbelief, and Aoânung signing that they were bad divers. Â
âStop, they only need to learn,â Tsireya signed, with you nodding in agreement, swimming upwards to follow the Sully children and encourage them to swim more. You were eager to show them the beauty of the reef, determined to get to know them better. Loâak stuck his face into the water, finding Tsireyaâs smiling face, signaling them to swim together, as he responded with gibberish signs, having no idea how to respond. This coaxed a shy smile from you, continuing to swim upwards along with the other metkayina. Â
âYou swim too fast! Wait for us,â Tuk whined, making you chuckle at her adorableness.
âYou are not good divers, maybe swinging through trees butââ Aoânungâs tasteless humor earned a smack on the head from his sister, fed up with unsolicited criticisms. âCâmon broââ âWe do not understand this finger talk you were doing,â Neteyam tried copying what you were doing, making Rotxo grin and Aoânung laughed at their cluelessness. Â
âI will teach you,â Tsireya volunteered, and suddenly included you in her future responsibilities, â(y/n) and I will do. Aoânung and Rotxo can help us with your breathing.â
âWait, whereâs Kiri?â Rotxoâs face twisted in worry, the whole group asking each other where she was, not noticing that the eldest daughter of the Sullyâs had disconnected from the lot.
As soon as you realized where she was, you regrouped again and were told to follow Aoânung towards the shore. He stood a meter away from the group, producing clicks and noises to call a group of ilu. Waist deep in the water, he glanced at each of you, âIf you want to live here, you have to ride.â Â
His arms gestured at the iluâs surrounding him, nodding at the siblings, encouraging them to approach the creatures and familiarize themselves. Your eyes gleamed at how commanding his voice was, as if the whole ocean was sitting on his palm, an attribute that seemed to be innate in the future oloâeyktan of your clan. One by one, they tried their hand at riding an ilu, Loâakâs attempt being the most memorable after being thrown off its back at his recklessness.Â
The training went on and on for weeks, with you assisting Kiri, who was surprisingly a natural when it came to the ilu, having found her underwater interacting with one, which amazed you so much she was shocked to see your beaming face at her after resurfacing with an ilu. Â
As the eclipse approached, so did the end of your daily meetings. The beautiful shades of auburn purple shone on the archipelagic glory of Awaâatlu, indicating the end of the day. Soon after dismissing the group, Tsireya bid you farewell, whispering that she wanted to have a few moments Loâak, making the two of you giggle at the thought of potentially finding someone she wants to spend her life with. Your simpering caught Aoânungâs attention, raising his brow at what could possibly be funny that you and his sister are looking at the rest of the boys coyly. Supporting her idea after knowing that the Sully mean no harm and are actually just a family, you waved at her, tugging Aoânungâs arm to the direction of the village knowing his tendencies to be protective over his sister. Â
âWhat were the two of you talking about?â he asked, adjusting your headpiece, seeing how disheveled your hair looked. You brushed off a sand on your arm, âOh you know, thereâs this boy,â you giggled, remembering Tsireyaâs blushing face,â âReya really likes the forest boy.â You tucked a strand of hair behind your ear, âIâm very happy for her. Finding someone she likes and allâŠâ A small whisper from your lips following, âHow wonderful it would be if I too..â
You sighed dreamily, reminiscing about your encounters with peers, frowning at the lack of finding someone that stood out from all of your options, having no recollection of successful romantic encounters. Your sigh did not go unnoticed by your companion, receiving a questioning gaze from Aoânung. He stopped walking and asked, âWhat, you want a mate all of the sudden?â
You breathed, the smell of the ocean embracing you, âI am simply pondering my options, Aoânung. My rite of passage is not far, and it is of common knowledge that it is only a matter of time until all the commendable bachelors in our village become betrothedâ he scoffed at this, his tail flicking in annoyance at the thought of you getting a mate. Â
âI do not want to grow old all alone. I would want a family for myself, you know that.â Approaching the direction of your marui, you smiled at him moving your hands to sign him farewell. As you were helping your mother prepare dinner, you couldnât help but reminisce about the times when another guy your age would approach you with the most intricate shells in hand. Â
You have just turned 14 when a boy of your age approached you with a carefully woven bracelet. It was typical of you to spend the day with Tsireya, however due to her duties as the tsahikâs daughter, she has asked you to pair up with her brother for the day. Not minding the company, Aoânung took you to a spot he and his friends frequented. You were humming a song to motivate you while searching for shells to give to your dearest friend when a familiar face started to walk towards you. Aoânung squinted in curiosity when he noticed KeomĂ€ approach your spot. KeomĂ€ is usually assigned with fishing out nets before the eclipse, often swooned at by girls due to his dimpled grins. The village is not a vast place so the two of you have already been acquainted with each other.
âWhat could be that bastardâs business?â he thought, his carving halted in contemplation. Rotxo stared at him in suspicion when he suddenly stopped sharpening the bone. Meeting his friendâs gaze, he huffed and continued his task with a newfound aggressive vigor. Shrugging at his strange action, Rotxo went back to polishing his dagger. Â
Aoânung was seething as soon as his eyes spotted the bracelet that was not-so-subtly held behind KeomĂ€ as an attempt to surprise you. His enraged mind was prompted to come up with unprecedented schemes to ruin the other metkayinaâs chances with you. As soon as you lifted your head to meet KeomĂ€âs smile with yours, he flouted as he finally decided on what to do. Â
âKeomĂ€, have you just finished fetching dinner for the village?â you put down your collection, politely nodding at him. âYes, it is another bountiful day,â he stiffly responded, making your head tilt as if to ask what was going on. Resolved to fulfill what his heart desired, he immediately spouted words of confession before his mouth betrayed him.
âYou are the most beautiful person that I have ever laid my eyes on (y/n). Your melodic voice never fails to complete my day,â he started, making your cheeks flush in appreciation at his kind words. âI am to participate in my rites of passage in a few months. If you would..â âIf your heart is to say yes,â he cleared his throat to continue, âWith this crafted bracelet, I would like to ask you for permission to stake a claim onââ
Unfortunately for him, Aoânung is not one to give openings for other metkayina. He had his heart spoken for since you were of young age, and he would not let you find a man other than him. He stood up from his sitting position with a smirk, prancing slowly towards the two of you.
âAh, KeomĂ€. Were you not reprimanded by ZoaiĂ€l for your irresponsible decisions yesterday?â Aoânung towered over the both of you, and to add salt to the wound, âThe offense you have induced on yourself could lengthen the stretch before you are allowed to take part in the ceremony for adulthood, you are aware arenât you?â
âT-thatââÂ
âFrankly, I do not see the significance in asking her for her hand if you are only going to make her wait for your incompetent self,â his arms extended in a haughty stance, his tail jerking with a snap with threat, âBest to get going to aid your ineptness, KeomĂ€.â His voice deepened to emphasize his point, making the poor boy shiver. Â
Just as your suitor stomped in anger, Aoânung shook his head at KeomĂ€âs pathetic attempt. Meanwhile, you were disappointed at the interrupted confession, making you glare at your companion. Aoânung could only raise his hands with a satisfied smirk all written on his face. You went back to your prior activity with a sunken expression and ears down, making him contemplate if you liked KeomĂ€ enough to induce despondency from you.
You are not as skillful as Tsireya in healing, nor as good as NoĂŹukĂ€ in hunting. Your modesty however, is of notable charm for most people in your village. This led to not two, but more than four suitors in a span of seven months just after the first efforts to capture your heart. Â
How wonderful! Not.Â
Aoânungâs annoying interruptions continued on as more young metkayina tried their hand in asking you, finding it increasingly difficult to penetrate the barricades that your childhood friend had established. He was acting like a possessive mate at that point. Thatâs right, a mateâ
That particular speculation immediately pulled you from the barrage of memories you were just recollecting. Your eyes widened at the thought of Aoânung holding romantic affections for you. You have never considered him to be someone who would develop feelings for you. Â
Not that you know of.Â
Set on shrugging this particular idea off of your mind, you finished cleaning up with your mother and informed her that you were turning in for the night, making her meet your forehead with hers in good night, receiving another from your father with a promise from your parents that they will be joining you in bed later. You tucked yourself in your familyâs mat with a strange feeling in your stomach, making it difficult to fall asleep. Instantly after a few minutes, you were off to sleep with a particular boy in your dreams.
Months have passed since the arrival of the Omatikaya naâvi and you have grown close with the siblings, which is quite the contrary in Aoânungâs case, growing some kind of disdain for them, calling them names and sneering at them for their differences. Â
It has become unbearable, really.Â
As you grew close to the siblings, you have also gotten to know their mother, Neytiri, and the Toruk Makto, Jake Sully. You looked up to the both of them, having been told the stories of how they fought the sky people with victory. You often found yourself dining with them in their marui at some nights. The cherry on top however, was the friendship that you have found in Neteyam. He is someone that you look up to, treating him as a brother and him, treating you as one of his sisters. You have invited him and his siblings to one of your dinners, your mother and father appreciating their presence as they have finally had a chance to take a closer look at the infamous family. Â
âSo, do you like it here so far Neteyam?â your hands untangled themselves from the net, gesturing for him to try continuing the work himself.Â
âIt is different from the forest,â he reached out for the strands, âthere is also difficulty in connecting with other naâvi, but the island is wonderful.â
You were assisting Neteyam with weaving a net when Kiriâs voice caught your attention. âLeave us alone!â, followed by a series of laughter. You frowned when you saw Aoânungâs peers around her and Loâak. Hearing a hiss from Neteyam, you casted a worried glance at him when he stood up stomping towards his siblings. You pressed your lips together and stood up to follow him, your ears flicking in alarm when he shoved Aoânung away, âYou heard what she said. Leave them alone.â He huffed with his tail flicking with a rigid threat, âSmart choice, and from now on, I need you to respect my sister.â  Â
You grimaced at Aoânungâs lack of apology when he simply raised his hands in mock surrender, obviously not taking Neteyamâs words seriously; followed suit by his friend who hissed at Neteyam from being told off. Neteyam goaded his sister gently to the direction of the village marui with Loâak following, when Aoânung voiced out another jibe.Â
âBuh-bye~â One of his friends waved goodbye with a singsong voice.
âTheyâre all freaks. The whole family,â he slyly whispered loudly, purposely making the siblings hear. You frowned when Loâak stopped walking, only to turn back and approach Aoânung with anger clearly visible from his eyes.  Â
âLoâak.âÂ
âI got this bro,â Loâak responded to his older brother calling his name in warning. Facing Aoânung, he raised his left hand, âI know this hand is funny. Look, Iâm a freak, itâs alienâ he waved his pinky, making the group snicker at the âweirdâ display. âBut it can do something really cool, watch.â He slowly started to close his hand to form a fist, âFirst I ball it up real tight like this, âkay? Then,â his balled up first met Aoânungâs cheek, catching him off guard to pause for a few seconds at what had just occurred. Â
âItâs called a punch, bitch. Never touch my sister again,â he raised a finger in threat, only to be greeted with hisses and a tackle. Your eyes met Neteyam and Kiriâs, only to gasp when Neteyam shook his head and joined in. Â
âOh dear,â you hissed when two of them pulled on Loâakâs tail, Aoânung being the main instigator of the action. âThis is stupid!â Kiri facepalmed in embarrassment, only to chortle at the childishness of the boys, making you follow her example as you bit your lip to stop yourself from laughing out loud at how silly they all looked. It was not long before one of the villagers spotted the lot of you and helped stop the boys from worsening their injuries. Â
As soon as the fight is broken off, Neteyam and Loâak were dragged by their necks by Jake Sully himself, meanwhile Aoânung successfully evaded his mother by calling an ilu together with his friends. Â
The eclipse had already begun when you went back to your home in order to assist your mother, spending time telling her of what had just occurred between your friends when an alarm resonated to gather the villagers. As soon as you were in the emergency gathering, you spotted Aoânung being interrogated by his own parents and Jake Sully, along with a livid Neytiri, clutching Tukâs hand. Â
âWhatâs going on, âReya?â you inquired, spotting your friend behind her parents. Her eyes glistened with welled up tears, fear clearly written on her face. âItâs Loâak..â she started, repeating what Aoânung confessed earlier.Â
You raised your hands to your mouth in shock, terrified at what you heard, âWhat do you mean Aoânung left Loâak beyond the hunting grounds? No one but warriors are allowed there!â You swallowed at the thought of Loâak getting injured, or worse, losing his life in the middle of nowhere. You had witnessed Aoânungâs tendency to play pranks countless times, but never did this particular idea strike your mind. You did not expect things to escalate this much. Â
Aoânung met your gaze with his ears flattened down with regret and scrutiny at himself clearly on his face. You avoided his gaze in utter disappointment, exasperated at the endangerment of one of your friends. You thought he had done enough to make the family feel unwelcome, but this is going above and beyond the line. He had endangered the life of another naâvi. You could not bring yourself to meet his eyes without a scornful grimace on your face.Â
It was not long after until someone yelled that they had found Loâak, hugging Tsireya in relief, her tears streaming down her face. Loâak shook his head when he saw Aoânung approaching him, getting blocked by his fatherâs distressed figure. Â
âHey, letâs take a look at you,â Jake roamed his eyes on his sonâs body, noticing a few scratches, proceeding to check on Loâakâs back to see if there were any notable injuries that needed immediate remedy. âHeâs fine! Itâs just a few scratches, heâs fine,â he finished examining, Neytiri coming into view with concern morphed into her face, turning into something akin to rage, âI pray for the strength that I will not pluck the eyeballs of my youngest son!â She hissed with a clawing gesture right at Loâakâs face, interjected by Tonowari. âNo, my son knows better than to take him outside the reef.â He smacked a hand at Aoânungâs nape, making him kneel before them, âthe blame is his.â Â
âOkay, letâs go,â Jake shrugged off the statement, patting his sonâs shoulder. âNo, this is not Aoânungâs fault,â Loâak intervened, obviously covering up for the oloâeyktanâs son. Aoânungâs surprised expression made you shake your head at his foolishness, feeling bad for your friend for salvaging his bullyâs honor. Loâak peered at him, back to Tonowari âAoânung actually tried to talk me out of it, really.â Tsireya only pursed her lips in shame for her brotherâs poor decisions, urging her to walk away from the commotion. Soon enough, the rest of the villagers were dispersed, ending the day with you thanking Eywa that she has kept your friend safe, and with the thoughts of Aoânung circling within your mind.
The next day, you were once again gathered in your usual spot to help the Sully siblings with their breathing. Although instead of training, the group had a newfound interest for talking, curious about Loâakâs frightening experience the prior day. You found out that Aoânung has apologized to Loâak, regretful of his actions but also thankful that the boy covered up for his irrationality. Â
âThe tulkun have not returned yet,â Aoânung scoffed in disbelief, crouching down, âand anyway, no tulkun is ever aloneâÂ
âBut this one was, he also had aâ a missing fin! On the left side, like a stumpâ Loâak defended, pointing at his arm, a bit annoyed.
Your eyes met Rotxoâs in realization, âLoâak, did you just say the tulkun was missing a fin?â He nodded at you in hopes of finding more information about his friend, âYou have met Payakan..â Tsireya gulped, afraid for him because of what the villagers know about Payakan. Â
âPayakan?â
Rotxo shook his head, fiddling with a shell, âA young bull who went rogue, he is an outcast. Alone, and he has a missing fin.â Tsireya held Loâakâs arm, âThey say he is a killer.â Loâak frowned, âNo, he saved my lifeââ âHe killed naâvi, and other tulkun,â Aoânung gritted his teeth, pointedly gesturing as if to emphasize his point. âNot here, but far to the south.â âLoâak, you are lucky to be alive,â Tsireya smiled as an attempt to ease his worries, but Loâak could only sigh, finding it ridiculous that none of his friends believed him. Â
âMy baby brother, the mighty warrior who survived from Payakan!â Neteyam chuckled, patting his brotherâs shoulders. âNo, you guys arenât listening,â âNo Iâmâ Iâm listening Loâak!â Tuk whined, reaching out for her brother.
You pressed your lips together, hugging yourself when Loâak stormed off. Blinking at his brotherâs response, Neteyam went to sit beside you, offering a smile, âI guess heâs not so mighty to be this fed up in a span of minutes, huh?â You laughed, standing up to call it a day. â(y/n), you are not coming with us?â Tsireya asked, brushing off sand from her legs. âI think I am going to pass, I have not told my mother that we would be visiting,â you smiled apologetically, waving at the rest of the group. âI wonât be going as well,â Aoânung said, standing up from his crouched position to walk towards you. He slung his arm around you, nodding at his sister, âBe back before the eclipse, Tsireya.â He shared a look with Rotxo, the latter snickering at his friend. âSee you guys around,â you waved, starting to walk with Aoânung.Â
You were talking to Aoânung about his latest opinion on the Sullyâs when a thought crossed your mind, something that you have been pondering since that night. Â
âAoânung, am I not desirable?â Â
Your question caught him off guard and stopped walking, âWhat?â Confusion. It was all written on his face. âI said, am I not desirable?â you repeated while facing him, slowly meeting his gaze with glossy eyes. You have been sought after before but when you turned 18, it was as if all of your redeemable qualities had disappeared. That you have become dull compared to the other girls your age. KeomĂ€ had bonded with Tifka. Rotxo is obviously pining for a certain girl. Tsireya and Loâak has something going on. Â
Aoânung.. Â
Aoânung probably has someone in mind.
Your ears flattened down in shame, your insecurities resurfacing, doubts swallowing your heart as you searched for answers.Â
Were you not worthy of being loved?
Tears started to stream down when Aoânung opened his mouth to answer. You were afraid that he might say something true that you cannot accept. You were afraid that he might ridicule you. You were afraid that you might be incapable of being loved. You were afraid that nobody would see you.
You were afraid that Aoânung does not see you the way you see him.
Aoânung let out an exasperated breath, reaching for your hands. âYou are desirable.â He licked his bottom lip, âYou are beautiful,â he breathed, âthe most beautiful metkayina.â He tucked a strand of hair behind your ear, âYou are good at healing, better than most in weaving.â Â
You laughed, sniffling at the sudden compliments. âYou are not speaking the truth, Aoânung. You do not have to say those to make me feel better,â you smiled, looking at the horizons instead of his eyes. You could hear the constant splashing of water against the sand, a sound that you have been accustomed with since you were little. The blues reflect the way of the ocean, colors that you have most seen in your whole life. Â
But you were not familiar with the way Aoânung looked at you when you glanced back at his face. The look of yearning, as if he was pleading. Like there was a thing that he wanted to see.Â
That, he sees you.Â
Your heartbeat fastened at the thought. Of course not. He would not.
Interrupting you from more thinking, he spoke as if he was holding back âDo you have any idea why the others stopped trying to approach you?â You blinked at him, a few tears escaping from your eyes. Â
âI,â he inhaled sharply âI have told the others that I did not want them near you.â He brought his hand up to wipe at your tears, âI made it clear that they were not worthy of you,â your eyes clouded up again in realization. Â
âThat I was the only one who can love you,â you gripped the arm that held your face, clutching it, afraid that you might slip away from this dream. âI do not want you to see others so I made it impossible for you to have other options than I.â Your lips quivered, âI see you, (y/n). You have owned my heart since we were children,â his face was slowly inching towards yours, âyou make me feel tiny in this world,â he smiled like he was in pain, âyou hold my whole being, like you would a shell in your collection.â Â
âYou have so many people to choose from,â he closed his eyes, slowly closing the space between you, one centimeter at a time, âmany shells to place in your song chord.â He opened his eyes once again when your foreheads met, âBut, I want to be the one who will be in your life, recorded and embedded in your heart.â
His eyes themselves were becoming glossy, reflecting the hopeful expression on your face, slightly flushed but still just as beautiful as you were when he first met you. âI see you, (y/n). I see you like how the ilu sees the ocean,â you smiled, happy tears dropping at the mercy of his loving gaze, and finally your velvety voice reached his ears.
âI see you, Ma Aoânung. I see you since the promise that I have spoken years ago,â without hesitation, your lips met, perfectly slotting together like puzzle pieces finally finding one another after years and years of searching. His plump lips smiling against yours, slowly but passionately finding its place on yours, so full of longing, and as you returned with fervor, his arm found itself wounding across your back, one of his hands gently caressing your jaw, tilting it to a newer angle, making you sigh as he made it clear how long he waited for you to know. For you to see him back.Â
Seconds felt like hours to the two of you, the background fading into nothingness when it was just the two of you, close together. Your lips parted to catch your breath, holding on to Aoânungâs neck to balance your weakened knees. You smiled against Aoânungâs lips, âSo, all those years you were taking all of their chances for yourself?â He smirked, âA man cannot be too careful, they were simply not strong enough to go against me.â Â
âOr, you were simply not strong enough to handle it if I saw someone else,â you snorted at his deadpanning face. Your eyes widened in horror when you saw his face morph into something akin to a daring tsurak, his fangs visible from how wide his smile was, âYou have five seconds.â Â
â5,â you tried to get out from his tight grasp, giggling when he started to nose at your neck,Â
â4,â he strengthened his grip, ânot running away, pretty girl?âÂ
You wheezed, feeling too ticklish when he moved his arms near your sensitive spots, â3,â
â2â
âOh my Eywa, Aoânung!â you squealed, failing to escape.
â1!âÂ
âReady or not, here I come!â he announced, making Aâvire giggle nervously behind you. You smiled at his tiny hands gripping your tail, trying to hide his whole body from his father. Â
âSaânu, AiwouĂŹ would not give me my tsurak back!â ĂmepxĂŹr cried, tugging at you as you bounced Aytretem in your arms making him giggle. Â
âAiwouĂŹ, give your sister her toy back, or I will snap your spear in half.â You glared at your 4-year old son. Â
âMa yawne, stop glaring at our son or he might just melt into a puddle,â Aoânung pressed a kiss on your forehead, patting his son on the head, tearing up after being scolded. Â
âRemind me again, why did I go for you? Look at these little Aoânungs! None of them look like me,â you whined, repeatedly glancing over your children to double check if they at least had an ounce of you. Â
He grinned, letting out a boisterous laugh when you let out a long sigh, âMaybe it is because I am stronger than you, (y/n).â
âStronger?â you scoffed, âI see how it is. I hope you are strong enough to withstand the cold nights Aoânung,â his eyes almost popped out of his skull in realization. Â
âNo, maâ Yawntu, you know I was justââ Â
âI hope you have fun being strong by yourself outside my mat, Aoânung.â

My heart â€ïž
Sharing a love with Bakugou thatâs absolute.
Imagine being the one to mend Bakugouâs broken heart.
Maybe you didnât manage to get to Bakugou in time, so heâs already experienced his firsts with someone else. It was a case of wrong time, wrong place but fate was finally aligning to try and bring you together.
And itâs hard enough to get close to Bakugou Katsuki at the best of times, but itâs even more difficult when heâs had his heart broken.
Heâs closed off, guarded and doesnât want to get hurt again. He tells himself itâs better this way, that the pain felt experiencing a break up wasnât worth the love he felt in the relationship. That thereâs no point trying to find love again or letting it happen, so he cuts everyone off.
Thatâs why he ignores the way his heart pangs for you, the heavy flutter of it against his ribcage like petals blowing in the wind. Convincing himself that the love he would experience with you isnât worth it, because love never lasts. So every time you feel yourself getting close to him, he pulls back. That same voice in the back of his head telling him that heâs not worthy, that heâs not good enough.
It brings him back to that feeling that he was never worthy of love, so of course he continues to believe he doesnât deserve it. And if he opened himself up to you, youâd realise it and leave him just like the rest. So keeping you at a distance is easier than convincing himself that youâll love him the same way back.
Of course, his friends donât want him to get hurt again either. After experiencing the aftermath of his breakup first hand. Bakugou reverting to the angry teenage boy who handled his feelings through anger, shouting at his interns and burying himself in his job. Running himself into the ground to try and mask the hollow feeling in the pit of his stomach, because if heâs too tired to think maybe heâll be too tired to feel.
But thereâs something about you that they see, something they can tell is just perfect for Bakugou. So as fiercely protective Kirishima is, and how much he doesnât want his friend to get hurt anymore, he encourages you to try.
Because thatâs all you can doâ try.
So you do. You try, and you manage to pull Bakugou out of the darkness. To show him that he can feel a love again thatâs honest, pure and real. But thereâs something different as he begins to find himself falling for you, itâs not the same love that he experienced before. Itâs differentâ
Absolute.
And now heâs wondering whether he was ever really in love before? Whether heâd wanted something to work so badly that heâd framed the perfect picture of his relationship in his mind, but that moment had lead him to find you.
It takes time to heal a broken heart, but the repair gives space to love again, and to be loved again. So youâll take his broken heart and mend it, wondering how his ex could have ever wanted to fracture it because thereâs absolutely no way youâre throwing Bakugou away.
Itâs like you were the missing pieces of the puzzle that each other needed, and now Bakugouâs convinced heâs never been in love before. Because being in love with you is like nothing heâs ever experienced before, and he hates that he made himself wait so long to experience it.
Awe my heart feels all mushy đâ€â€

summary: five years ago he left you. left you alone with nothing but memories of your love. so how dare he come back now?
contents: 1.5k words, fem!omaticaya reader, angst, swearing
authors note: AHHHH first chapter i'm so excited to post this guys!! thankuu to all my mooties that helped me brew this series
Nothing could ever surmount to the despair you felt that day. The day he looked into your weeping eyes, looked right into your aching soul, and told you he was leaving.
Leaving. You begged him to take you with him. Pleaded with his pained expression to let you stay with him. To take you with him. To walk every journey together.
But he didnât. He shook his head, pursing his lips that have kissed you for the last time. Crossing his arms that embraced you for the last time. He said no. One simple word that crushed your entire self.
âIt wonât be safe, I canât take you from the forest, this is your home.â No. No he was your home! He was your everything. The last face you look at when you say goodnight to the day left behind you. The one you would run to, so you could tell him everything good and bad. The man you imagined your entire life to be with.
That same man who was running from his home, to never return back to you.
You pleaded with him, crashing onto your knees, wrapping your arms around his torso. Crying into him as you begged to accompany him. How could he leave you? How could he have the heart to tear out yours.
âY/NâŠlet go.â His deep voice ring deep in your ears. You knew he was talking about your physical grip on him. But it felt so much deeper. Let go. Let go of us. Let go of everything we ever were. Let go of me.
You shook your head desperately, hands still clinging to his body. The rough soil beneath you cutting into your knees but no cut would ever be as deep as the one he had laid into your soul.
It was as if the hands he took to pry your frail body off him were the daggers that were slicing up your heart. Leaving wounds so deep they would never heal. How could you ever heal from this?
You looked up at him, tears letting his cheeks dampen, his face showing nothing but grief as he met your hurt eyes.
âI have to goâŠY/N you know I have to.â You did. You knew you had no say in this. Your words were insignificant to begin with.
His figure crouched down in front of you. Wiping the salty tears that stained your cheeks. He saw the way your chin quivered as he caressed your beautiful face.
A salty, sweet kiss was the last one you ever shared with him. A kiss you both cried into, gripping onto each other knowing it was the last time. It was bittersweet. To share a moment so close together only to be ripped apart.
All that connected you both was memories. Memories that now serve you nothing but hurt.
Five years had passed. Five dreadful years.
You were now a 20 year old woman. Adorned with your Hometree bow and the physique of a fit warrior. Though no amount of time could ever heal the cuts he left so deep in you.
For the first year, you were nothing but a shell. Never eating, never sleeping. You simply existed. Which was a chore to do without him.
You wished nothing but to stop existing. To stop experiencing every bit of sadness, every bit of grief. To stop mourning the loss of the only man you could ever love.
Tears were your most worn accessory, no one ever daring to tell you they looked bad. Too scared to send you spiralling even more than you already had.
Though, those times you spent rocking in your hammock. Looking at the stars that lit up the night sky, those cuts that ran deep within you, the cuts that caused so pain. They started to seep.
Started to seep blood red rage.
How could he ever have left you? Was he so selfish to not think of the effect this would have on you? Did he simply not care?
How was the one time he decided to act selfishly be the time wounded the one who loved him most? To be so selfish, to claim he would be keeping you safe.
Safe to what? The sky-people that reigned free through your planet. Constantly on the verge of war to aliens that had no consideration for your people. Just like he had no consideration for your heart.
You wanted to hate him. You wanted to hate him so bad, that every memory of him would fade into a blood red image of evil. That every memory would turn into a disgusting thought of a disgusting man.
You wanted to hate him with every fibre in your body. But you couldnât.
Maybe thatâs when everything stopped looking so blood red. When everything dulled out. Nothing mattered, he would never come back.
So with a tainted heart and an aching soul, you accepted that you would never experience the love of your mate every again. Never feel his touch, hear his voice, smell his scent, taste his kisses. You would never be with him.
Thatâs were Vaâtep entered into your life. Barging into your knocked down walls and building a crappy foundation.
Vaâtep, Tarsemâs younger brother. One year your elder. A fierce warrior, a man who refused to lose, a man who claimed what was his. And to him, you were his.
Your parents always longed for status. To be high up in the clan. You were their golden ticket, finding your way into the heart of Toruk Maktoâs eldest son. They rejoiced in your heartâs residence, rejoiced in the fact that you fulfilled their one wish. They were your number one advocate. Pushing you to train for your rite of passage ever since you became closer with the boy. They worked every inch of their being towards the union between the pair of you.
But the hard work washed away as fast as the waterfall plunged.
Washing away all your dreams, your happiness, your meaning. It washed away your parentâs status, Vaâtep being the life guard that pulls them out of the strong currents.
Nothing could ever amount to him though. Your heart resided with someone else as your body laid with his. You felt yourself fill with shame every time you shared a touch. A shiver of disgust running down your entire body. Breaking the vow of your love towards the boy who broke you.
âWhereâs your head at beautiful?â That was what he called you. Beautiful. His voice would never be as sweet as his. Never send the right shivers through you.
Vaâtepâs calloused hands caressed your cheek, so rough it felt as if he was dragging you with his touch. Everything he did was rough. Rough like the soil you pleaded on.
Maybe this was Eywa laughing in your face. Giving you a man so opposite to the man you craved so desperately. Even after 5 years, Eywa would never let you forget those memories.
Shrugging his hands off your body, he let out a low hiss. One that showed his offence towards your actions. A hiss so quiet, it would only be heard if you cared. But you didnât. Something else was clouding your mind, taking your attention away from him. And it wasnât just your past lover.
You made your way towards the growing crowd of people that formed around the entrance of Hometree. Vaâtepâs calls after you were silenced by the gasps and whispers of your people that were creating confusion that bubbled in your stomach.
Pushing yourself to the front of the crowd, definitely stepping on the feet of others. You looked for the source of the commotion. Ears perking up and eyes squinting to find the one thing people were gawking at.
Though now as you look towards the source, you wish you minded your business. Everything was coming back. Every emotion, every curse, every thought, every tear. They all fell on top of you, crushing your soul as you let out a small whimper in fear.
The source was making its way towards you. No. No. NO. This canât happen. This cannot be happening. Feet stumbling as you paced backwards, avoiding looking straight ahead.
Dread filled your entire being. Filling it from your toes until it felt as if it would spill out of you, gurgling in the pits of your stomach. No. No. NO.
Crashing into the back of a person, you were forced to halt your escape. Frozen in shock as you looked at the man who had broken your heart and given it back to you.
Lips quivering, tears pooling in your eyes. He reached his hands towards you. How could he come back? Why was he back? This is all some sort of sick dream. A nightmare.
âMy beautiful girl.â His voice was deeper, still so sweet it would cause a cavity. It enticed you. You had been without his voice for so long.
So longâŠbecause he left you. Because he was cruel and selfish.
Shaking your head profusely, just like you did that dreaded day. Your hands shook as you pointed at him, an accusatory finger aimed at him as your mind swirled.
âIâm here now.â He should have never left, he should have NEVER left. What a sick fuck. To come back expecting open arms when all you wanted was to never have your arms leave him. âBeautiful? What is it?â
âI am not your beautiful, Neteyam.â

Clouds of Rain
Neteyam X F!Reader
Part 3 of Clouds Series
Summary: Everyday you and Neteyam get closer, but now he's seen a side you want to hide
Warning: Toxic parents, a little angst, fluff moments between Neteyam and Reader, Neteyam and Reader are eyeing eachother đâ€ïž
When the day had started, distant sounds of thunder echoed around the forest. Shadows crept across the moss covered floor as a storm rolled in. Many Na'vi relished in the rain, the prosperity it brought to the food and animals almost seemed mystical, but to you it brought a sorrow.
You weren't allowed out of your families tent on stormy days, even though you were seen as a grown adult, you were unmated, uncourted, so therefore, still a child in your parents eyes.
You longed for the sunshine and blue skies, but Eywa seemed to want a day of rest and restoring water to the cycle of life. "(Y/N)! Come here at once!" Your mother's voice cut through your day dream as you stared out into the vast mist of rain in the distance.
You stood from your position and walked with small steps to your mother. Your youngest sibling, a boy the age of three, sat in her lap fast asleep. You wished you could curl up like that, remembering the days she would coo at you and kiss you sweetly, that changed when more siblings came along and suddenly you couldn't do anything right in her eyes.
Kneeling in front of her, she spoke,"You are to go get us some fruit from the gathering circle, be quick, you are to come straight back, do you understand," her tone left no answer needed, it was a demand.
You nodded, going to stand but her hand tightly grapsed your wrist, pulling you back around to face her, her dull yellow eyes hard. "Answer me girl!" "Yes mama," you quietly spoke, eyes meeting her face but not her eyes, she hated when you looked at her in the eyes.
Releasing you, she waved you off and you quickly turned and hurried out. It wasn't usual for Na'vi to be abusive to their children, yet it wasn't unheard of. Your parents just happened to check every mark there was, verbal, emotional, mental, and physical. It just depended on their mood of the day to determine how your day would end.
Reaching the gathering circle, you picked the nicest looking fruit that you hoped would appease her rath, you began to walk back with it bundled in your arms, only to run smack into another person.
The fruit got squashed between both bodies, the juice sticking to your arms, chest and stomach, your mouth slightly open in shock. That was unexpected, but then again you were rushing with your head down.
"Oh Great Mother, I'm sorry!" Neteyams voice made you jolt up to meet his eyes, his face worried as he realized he ran into you. Just another foolish episode it seemed.
"(Y/n)! I'm so sorry, let me help you," Neteyam reached down to grab the fruit, but it unsavable at that point. You covered your mouth with a soft laugh, not wanting to upset the man in his rush to help you.
"Its alright Neteyam, no harm done," you assured, a smile gracing your lips. Neteyam was a light in your gray world, he could do no wrong in your eyes. The thought of the fruit left your mind, now focused solely on spending time with Neteyam.
"Come," you helped him up, his words stumbling over each other as he tried to figure out how to help, "B-but your fruit? Let me, let me help," you shook your head, waving it off, "There will be more fruit, but let's go get washed up," he let you drag him away, the fruit left forgotten on the floor.
Mother would not be happy later.
~.~
Laughing as you two walked up the edge of the village where vases of water sat, you let go and approached the water. Cupping your hands together, bringing the cool water to your face and neck, you breathed in a sigh of relief and shut your eyes, the water doing good to help rid the sticky fruit and seeds that stuck to your skin.
Neteyam allowed his eyes to trace over each water droplet that ran down your soft skin, going where only his eyes could imagine and where he wished he could touch too. Oh to be envious of water.
"Aren't you going to wash up?" Your soft voice broke his concentration, eyes looking to your face and seeing your glowing green eyes staring at him with your eyelids lowered, a look you weren't trying to give him but his thoughts quickly wondered and this caused him to rush forward, almost dunking his head into the water to cool himself off.
You giggled, having noticed his look from before and allowed your own eyes to slowly rake over his flushed body. His years of training doing wonders for him, the muscle and strength he held made your tail flick a few times before you willed it to stop and wrap around your leg.
"I am sorry, for ruining your fruit," Neteyam wiped his face of water, looking down at you though you smiled.
That pretty smile made him weak.
"Its alright, there will be more fruit later," you looked up at him, "let me make it up to you," he offered, though you grew confused. How would he make it up to you? Why did he feel the need? It was only a few pieces of fruit, surely you could replace it on your own.
"Oh? How?" You asked, arms crossing and staring at him intrigued, your hip jutting out a little causing him to gulp, trying to focus back on you as a whole.
"That's for me to worry about, now, let's go grab you some more fruit," he placed a small kiss to your head as he walked by, your face flushing as you trailed after him.
It was true you had kissed him before, a few weeks ago before he took you flying on his Ikran, but since then it had only been longing stares and a few light touches. A whisper here and there in the others ear, both of you too scared to ruin what you had going on. Scared that your realities would be crushed by the world if the true feelings were spoken out into the air.
~.~
Arriving back at the gathering circle, Neteyam grabbed new fruit to replace the ones he messed up, placing only one in your arms and he carried the rest.
"Oh no, Neteyam I can carry It really," you begged, not wanting him to follow you home. Not to the horrors that may await you. "Nonsense, allow me to help you, it was my fault," he grinned, not picking up on your worried tone.
It seemed he didn't have to, for your father's voice cut throught the air like a knife. "(Y/n)!" His deep, growl like voice caused you to freeze, Neteyam frowning when he saw the fear plaster on your now pale face. His eyes glanced behind you where two figures were appearing.
"Papa," you greeted, turning where the tall, brooding Na'vi man stood. He was one of the best hunters in the clan, your younger brother, only three years younger than you, trailing behind him with a small, smug look.
Your brother quite enjoyed when you got in trouble, but that's only because he himself didn't have to bare your father and mother's disapproving gaze.
"What are you doing? Your mother has been waiting and here you are, goofing off and laying around like you always do," Your fathers eyes made you shrink, head down into your shoulders hoping to disappear.
Neteyam placed himself between you both, chest puffing up to match your father. He didn't like how dull your eyes got, he hated how you tried to shrink instead of stand tall. "The fault is mine, sir, take it up with me. Leave your daughter out of this," Neteyam hissed, his tail lashing at the thought of what this man would say or do to you, his own child.
Your Father seemed to realize who he now faced, eyes narrowing suspiciously as they darted between Toruk Maktos oldest son, the future leader of the clan and his own child, his only daughter and oldest child.
The way the young man stood in front of you, challenging him to dare say another word had your father ask,"Who are you to tell me how to talk to my daughter? Have you courted her, mated with her," he knew the answer, but your father wanted to prove a point.
"No sir, but the fault is mine. I caused her to drop fruit and helped to clean her up, so any qualms you have you can deal them with me right now," Neteyam promised, knowing that the fact you two really weren't together stung, but he would defend you no matter what. He loved you that much.
It seemed as though Eywa had a saving grace, his own father, Jake Sully, appeared. "What's going on here?" Jake looked narrow eyed to the hunter in front of him, he knew (F/N) well, the man was very strict and harsh, but one of the best hunters to the clan.
You rushed forward, tired of all the arguing and not wanting a whole fight to break out. "Neteyam was helping me with fruit, I was clumsy and dropped it," you spazzed through your words, not turning to meet either Sully mens eyes behind you, focusing on your father instead, scared of what he would say more or do.
"I'm sorry Papa, I will be more careful from now on," Your father didn't want to cause a bigger scene infront of his Olo'eyktan, so he called for your brother to take the fruit who glared at you as if you had asked him instead of your father. "We will speak at home," your father leaned down close and threatened, eyes of green, though darker than your own, stared right through you. His words a silent threat that more than talking will be done at home.
"Yes Papa," you submitted, ears pulled back in fear and humiliation. Fear of what your father would do. Humiliation that Neteyam had to witness you like this.
Your Father and brother stomped away, your shoulders tense as you turned to see both men staring at you sadly.
"Thank you for helping me Neteyam, I'll see you around," you hurried out, words like mush as you trailed off into the direction your family had gone to.
"(Y/n)-" Neteyam reached out, but his father's hand on his shoulder stopped him, a huff of defeat in his lips as you disappeared from view.
"Give her some space, (F/n) is not one to mess with, getting her in more trouble may not be a wise case," Jake instructed, Neteyam clicking his tongue in annoyance and anger.
"(Y/n) shouldn't be suffering with them! It was my fault that the fruit fell, she shouldn't have to pay for that," he felt himself become hostile every second that passed, now beginning to pace in front of his father.
"(Y/n) deserves to be free! She is a grown woman, not a pet or a child!" He cried, Neteyam turning his body, eyes gazing after your invisible figure one last time.
"She so gentle, I want to watch her float on the clouds, not be tied down," Neteyam whispered.
