I would like Decay more if it never lose the initial range limitation that made it at least require some brain and flank the enemy to have the chance of instakill.
And that critique about Midoriya is dumb because you can say the same about almost every character.
Like who really isn't quirk reliant on this series aside of a few exceptions like Knuckle Duster or Giulio Gandini?
Even people like Aizawa and Stain who base their combat skill or support weapons are still quirk reliant to keep up with the more dangerous villains.
And yes, Cider is literally a smarter guy that out supposed main villain. Think about that level...
Is a shame Horikoshi only used him for glaze Bakugou and Todoroki or their hero debut, because realistically it's true that Cider was way more prepared and better equiped for a possible fight.
Yet HK really needed to give that moment to Shoto.
Canon possum is a joke but one thing I never forget is how decay IS powerful, sure a powerful quirk with an idiot is not a good thing in many fronts but...
Cinder (I'm loving him already) has to know a guy who can decay stuff with one touch even if he is an idiot.
Would cinder be worried about the quirk ?
Again, shig is an idiot and a bad leader and all that but one thing we can't deny is he knows how to fight.
So I think cinder would make a point to avoid him like the plague.
In canon Cider is the kind of person who knows he shouldn't bite off more than he can chew, since after all his plan during his debut was to steal during a very specific moment in which heroes aren't present, so is more reward without having to fight and less risk.
It was just a coincidence that A.M was there with Bakugou and Todoroki.
I guess his mentality also applies to fight dangerous villains, and the lov had some big names attached them. Their reputation probably was enough for Cider to not have his gang involved with such group of psychos.
But... I disagree on Shigaraki being a good fighter.
Maybe before all the bs power ups given by the doctor he at least knew how do surprise attacks and such, but Decay being such a one-dimensional quirk also means the user doesn't require a lot of skill to put it in use. It is basically just run towards the enemy and touch for instakill.
Which became even more braindead post awakening. Like even Overhaul has more room to be creative and need skill to put in use.
Decay is just a broken and boring quirk that requieres nothing to be effective. Crusty asshole somehow manages to be more plain than he already was at first, is like he evolves in reverse.
The Himuras have insane potential for fucked up plot lines about the worst kind of family tropes. You really have to be special if in a family reunion Enji Todoroki seem like the least bad family member Imao.
SeltzerBunny will live! It was a random idea but sounds good and catchy the more I think about it.
Sweden? Lol I was thinking about that country as well because I've played a lot of Cry of Fear, a great game that happens in that country made by people from there.
Love that idea of Midoriya doing the detective games an discovering about Cider that way, as a way to later connect with him.
Also she would put on a wig for the disguise? That would be hilarious.
...
Nine is more of an underdog raising into the power than what the canon story pretends Shigaraki is.
Think about it: crusty boy got everything on a silver plate, free goons, nomus, body enhancements, the og AFO quirk, fake muscles because he was skinny af and the list goes on. Even his team came to him by other people.
Nine only got an empty inferior copy of AFO yet he made it powerful by his own merits, and nobody got his people to come at him, he recued them earning their respect. Also he alreadg got that perfect body without bs surgeries and enhancements.
...
The sand thing will never stop being funny. And while I get it's pretty annoying being covered by it or the thing getting in your hair, I bet Cider loves how the sand feels on his feet and toes.
Idk why but I think he also loves being barefoot in general. Of course during combat and such he puts on his tactical boots, but outside of that he takes them off as soon as possible and doesn't like use slippers or anything like that in house.
I feel I'm always talking about this ship and Cinder and I thank you for that. I do have a question: does the media follow the cinder's gang?
I ask this bc I do want to give Izumi notoriety. Ofc she will WORK to gain it( I love her, but it would be disingenuous to the story making Izumi win by mere existing) but like the media does talk about the fearsome Usage (it's her moniker. A rare win for this fandom is the bunny jokes for Izu) and the same could be add to Cinder. He is a big name in the thievery world.
Or
Cinder works in the shadow and no one knows who he is?
Just wondering here bc I can work either way. Izumi gaining respect in the underworld and even getting the attention of big fishes like Nine.
It is still funny imagine Cinder being oblivious to how popular he is in the social medias. Villain fuckers are real and...he has never met them thanks to his good luck.
Izumi is watching the edits for...science.
You're welcome! Is always nice have more persons in this small fandom for the CiderIzu ship.
Can we call it SeltzerBunny too? Every ship good needs a corny name as well.
I assume the Cider House gang has sort of a reputation, considering their methods to operate and how they can wait for months before a big hit and not get captured in the process.
In my own AU nobody knows Cider is a member of the Himura family btw, but that's also probably because the clan erased a lot of his public registers and invented some story of "our son is overseas" or something like that.
Of course they're a famous gang in the otherworld however.
Ironically Nine is the underdog here, even his origin chapter put emphasis on how he "survived under the radar" considering how crazy his quirk is. I have my own ideas to flesh out this plot point, more info later.
I love the idea of Mizunami being totally clueless about his reputation in certain social media. He would probably think that's a bit cringe, but if it's Izu... he obviously doesn't mind.
He probably can get away because the mask covers a good part of his face, and that's a popular topic among his followers who fantasy about how he looks unmasked.
Only Izu (any version) got the privilege of see that handsome face in person.
Hi, I saw some rewriting idea about Nine saving Shig and yeah it's cool. I also not a fan of the whole "Izu wants to save Baby Tenko" HE NEVER EVEN MEET TENKO OR SAW HIM AS A BABY.
So I want the whole Izu saves Shig still but their relationship would have to be work...and comes an idea.
What if Shig wanted Izu to join his side? He saw how Izu is mistreated by everyone and he wants to save Izu. For once, Shig wants to reach for someone.
Nine is in this equation and we can say ...he wants shig to not be used by afo.
How about that?
An au where Shig wants to make Izu join his side. Shig is making an effort for one hero and later said hero retribute the action.
That could shake Nine's beliefs...or not?
I actually want character development for Nine in the sense he realizes most of his beliefs are not entirely what he actually wants, but more the way being born in extreme conditions molded him to think only the power and strenght matter in a cruel world where people aren't treated equally.
After all, like I said in other of my post I think Nine internally has an unconscious desire to protect the weaks using the strength he possess. And his supposed distaste for weak people is more like a defense mechanism created due experience a hard life marked by the way society puts him down despite his rightfully called divine powers.
Because when you think about it, how did he even knew his friends are all that powerful before know them? He just saw them in such low life conditions and was like "I need to save them".
In my rewrite version of the story Nine does indeed have the heart of a hero, but due his life experiences he knows more drastic actions need to be made in order to improve something. He would be like a middle point between Deku who is pro status quo without realize, and Shigaraki who also shares a similar view but don't view ahead of destroy.
Speaking of which I guess the dynamic of Shigaraki trying to be a hero on his own way for Deku would result of him being scared at first. Because let's admit it, even if Shigaraki has good intentions for Midoriya I think his methods would be far to extreme to Deku accepting his offer, at least at first.
And that's where Nine would act a as a middle point between them.
I talked a lot of why I think Deku and Nine are perfect foils for each other, but his rivalry could find a neutral spot when both of them try to save Shigaraki from the influence of AFO.
Except in this case Nine would be the one to call out Deku for having a very surface level desire of save Shigaraki, a person Midoriya never knew or understand. Deku just want to be a hero because he had a preconceived idea of what is good for criminals, but never look the big picture or care about what happen to them after being arrested (like he does in canon duh).
Nine desire to save Shigaraki in this version of the story (following my previous post) would came from the fact he found Tenko as a child after the Shimura house incident, and they grow to together since they were childs, practically rising him as his little brother. So he knew Tenko better than any other person and also knows how bad AFO influence can be.
Oh I forgot to mention but in this version we skip the body snatching plot point for Shigaraki, as I have other ideas in mind for what AFO would do in this version on the part of getting a perfect vessel.
I do actually share some concepts presented here in my vision for MHA.
Always found baffling how Horikoshi clearly shows the quirk doomsday theory as something very real, but at the same time every character who brings the topic has to be irremediable crazy and with no reedeming qualities so naturally the heroes wouldn't take the issue seriously and the status quo persist (Yeah Horikoshi is subtle about his agenda there).
Aside of your idea of the childrends dying for their bodies not being able to support their strong quirks, canon actually shows us how fucked up the lives of certain individuals can be purely because of their quirks and no "muh society" like the LOV. I mean one of Chisaki’s goons the one who eats everything is implied to be crazy because his quirk makes him desparate to ingest anything similar to Moonfish, or that civilian from Team Up mission who's body produces a toxic gas he has no control over and can kill him, so he has to live alone and far away from other people in a special house.
There's crazy untaped potential in the doomsday theory, and in my vision I use this for give Chisaki a more nuanced objective as aside of getting power for the yakuza he also grows to want do something for revert the possible end uo human kind due quirks.
I guess our versions of Overhaul are also pretty different...
Not against the idea of Midoriya beating Muscular with other than brute force, as the whole point of his canon character should be that he's supposed to be smart and a great strategist but most of the time he wins just because he can punch hard which is disappointing af. If you could elavorate on how she would defeat Goto I'm intersted on learn.
Also I hope something more can happen between them, because I read some stories that give Goto (Muscular) more characterization and his relationship with Midoriya have an interesting twist because he or she brings Goto more human side to the table.
...
A brief synopsis of my rework for Katsuma is that is teenager of 16s in this story rather than a little kid, but he also comes out as trans woman at that age after starting her hero studies. And Katsuma who is an actual pupil of Edgeshot in this story, not only was instructed since young age in several combat disciplines aside of shinobi ninja style, but she choose a butterfly theme for herself being symbolic to change.
I imagine Katsuma (she doesn't change her name) wearing a beautiful haori with the shape of butterfly wings, a homage to Shinobu Kocho from KNY obviously, and she also has two small butterfly tatoos one on her belly and the other close to her chest. Do you pick the reference?
Katsuma eventual meeting and relationship with Nine is also the heart of my vision of the story, just like arguably their dynamic is what makes Heroes Rising plot happen in canon.
I'm not even the biggest fan of Dabi in terms of looks, but always found very weird how the anime constantly makes him look way more defined and with bigger muscles than he has in the manga.
Isn't a bit contradictory for his character to look super ripped? Horikoshi clearly drawn Dabi in that specific way because the story makes emphasis on his body being more frail due having a weak constitution, also contrasting him to the rest of mens in the family who got the big and strong constitution of Enji, Natsuo especially. The anime just lose all the meaning behind that.
And this is more of a personal preference but I find Dabi's body in the manga to look much more attractive and less generic than in the anime. Skinny guys can look attractive as well.
Hi @nyc3
Thanks for the ask bc it's so fitting as I was thinking about how the fandom sees dabi and mr. Possum.
Let me start with this. Have you seen how in the Tumblr the tags of dabi x reader and shig x reader there a HUGE contrast in quality? Shig is depicted as a creepy and weirdo incel while Dabi IS "I'LL STEAL YOUR WIFE😏"
now on a controversial take. I do like the idea of dabi losing his scars. Why? Would increase his quality of life...I find odd how everyone in LoV accepts Dr. Evil's word and never try to take a second opinion. Also, without the scars Dabi would look way more like Endy making his claim be more powerful.
(not a fan of erasing Shig's scars nor the "crusty" jokes. Shig is handsome with his scars)
Now onto your ask: I think Bones just like to make characters hot in a conventional way, JJK men got to be hotter than the manga. But I do notice how bones lacks in translate the manga to anime. Some of the scenes of the manga were done so dirty.
Dabi became hotter aka buffer bc of this. Btw, many dabi x reader like to make the reader have a healing quirk (it should be a trope by now) just so it can heal dabi...which no one account that dabi IS self destructive, a healing quirk is nice but he would do again...unless he changes his mindset (I'm trying to explore this in my fic called besties)
Ask yourself: did shig NEEDED to be buffaraki? Was afo the quirk really need you to be buff?
(was necessary for Izu to gain muscles? Maybe, maybe not)
So to answer: Dabi is attractive in any shape. His writing trumps over shig any day even if shig IS more attractive than Dabi.
Feel free to use any of my ideas for your AU if you want! And adapt them to your style, as you probably would put a better use than me.
That includes the names for Cider.
...
I already love your own ideas for develop their relationship since their meet. Their teamwork and the way the gain mutual respect.
And the whole concept of Cider/Mizunami having a "Oh no, he's hot" moment is pure gold.
Just imagine if his mask breaks and he takes the parts off showing his face cover in dirt, sweat and a bit of blood after a that fight which he wins. All this in front of of Izumi who will be dying inside by the view of so much testosterone lol.
...
Geten being illiterate might be actually canon, as Horikoshi explained he never go to a school and rather trained his quirk all his life. And that's kinda sad if you think about it.
He really is the perfect child soldier, coming from a family like the Himuras who are elitist jerks obssesed with status and power (and they even practice inbreeding between their clans) capable of sell their members like objects no matter the gender as both him and Rei were sold very young for different porpuse. And Geten was sold to a quirk elitist maniac who probably brainwashed him into serve to the ideology of a guy from 300 years ago, and Re-Destro is okay with Geten not having any kind of education apparently.
Yeah that's a rough life for sure...
But also a gold mine for interactions!
Especially between him and his biological family.
In my AU all the Todoroki kids, Geten and Cider are cousins by the Himura side, at some point all them should be reunited in one way or another. Think about that sweet drama...
The parallels you made between Mizunami and Geten are brilliant. Hope it can develop into a good dynamic in which both can lear from each other rather than just being enemies.
The whole cinderIzu is great and I welcome with open arms. For my au, I have an idea for them meet.
Again, BK is a footnote in her life and Izumi is not dedicating all her time and energy in thinking of him. (She hears how his quirk remains the same, no quirk awakening bs, how bk's attitude got worse and how Aizawa is sure BK is the future)
Izumi hears about the mpa here and there and ...is not impressed. She needs money, her group can't work by luck...they need ration and more, and Izumi is not happy ReDestro has "schools" for kids to learn their quirks...its just a camp where the kid learns how to use their quirk AND NOTHING ELSE (Geten my be alliterate here)
Stealing from Redestro is not something she can pull off on her own. She needs help to do this heist.
(the quirk schools aren't illegal, per se, but it rubs Izumi in the wrong way. She is right)
Enters Cinder. He shows up with his helmet, all gear up and...well, he too needs money and Mr. Youtsubashi is loaded and if he wants to make quirk schools, fine...let's rob the fucker.
Izumi gawks as Cinder removes his helmet. He is handsome and cute...she wasn't expecting this.
Lol
(I love a good mask reveal!)
I also live for the moments when a character takes of their mask and reveals to be hot, and Cider isn't the exception. I mean can you blame Midoriya for what him?
Note: Izu probably loves in particular the little scar Cider got in his eyebrown, he/her found that detail to be especially sexy.
...
Is funny you mention the whole plot of Cider helping Izu to steal stuff from Re-Destro company, as I also have this idea of him making an operation to steal from a werehouse full of valuable tech and support items that Detnerant (I think that's the company name) sells into the black market.
They would have success stealing a lot of merch they later sell to get money, but also Cider found a particularly expensive prototype of a high tech glider he decides to keep for himself and use to compliment his surfing style. As Mizunami is really into surfing in my AU, like he seems to be in canon.
Oh I forgot to mention before but the vigilante name Cider/Mizunami will use for my AU will be "Splashdown". Be free to use it if you like the name.
And since you mentioned Geten here, do you think he will have some role in the story? As I mentioned before I love the idea of Cider being a Himura, but also he probably was rejected by his clan because his quirk is water instead of ice and the Himuras seems to be the kind of elitist jerks to would dishonor a child for born with a "imperfect" quirk.
Which would create a lot of tension between Cider and Geten, especially is they reconogice each other. Geten hating Cider for being "a failed Himura" and Cider will hate Geten because he's just a "an attack dog" for Re-Destro.
Fun trivia: In the character page for Nine in the Volume Rising, we can see in Horikoshi sketches that the palms of his hands were supposed to have the little holes that allow an AFO user to physically steal quirks.
Same holes All For One and Shigaraki have:
Yet, in the movie itself the holes are totally absent from Nine's hands despite his gloves are clearly designed with that specific function in mind.
I guess the production just totally missed that detail in the translation from Hori sketches?
I have headcanons of a YoDeku boxing AU, here they are:
Yo Shindo and Izuku start as rivals in the boxing ring, with Yo being initially skeptical of Izuku's abilities.
Without anyone knowing, Yo has a secret fake profile page, where he praises and idolizes Izuku, always talking about his fights and the green-haired guy's muscular body.
During the weigh-in of the first fight, Izuku remained serious, while Yo had a relaxed smile, but both were super nervous inside (Both were like ``Oh no, my opponent is very hot´´)
In the first fight, Izuku knocked out Yo, after the fight, he came to apologize, but Yo, still dazed from the punch, says that the moment Izuku threw the punch was the sexiest memory he had ever seen in someone, leaving Izuku even more embarrassed.
Their favorite moment during the fight is when they both get into a clinch, even after the end of the round, they both remain hugging each other, as it is an excuse to stay close to each other.
Yo Shindo and Izuku have become fans of each other, they always go to each other's fights to cheer each other on, even during the locker room, Yo and Izuku like to promise prizes if the fight ends in victory.
Yo Shindo was (besides Shoto) the one who consoled Izuku after his knockout defeat against Bakugou (Even though the blond made a dirty move, he bought the judge to give him the victory). Yo and Shoto promised to help Izuku train for his rematch.
After defeating Bakugou and winning the title, Izuku, in a moment of euphoria, gives Yo a big kiss, shocking everyone in the fight, they both laugh and continue the fun at home.
What do you think?
Based on my very limited knowledge about boxing, I really like the scenario.
If I had to add something I guess Midoriya is all serious about the sport because he wants to be like his A.M who in this universe would be like the world champion or something like that. While Shindo probably wants him to calm down a bit because he knows going super hard since the very beginning isn't good for a long term career.
Bakugou is the villain for YoDeku? Lol I'm so used to see it being the other way around that is nice to see the blonde asshole as the villain for once.
They celebrating BK defeat with a night of passion is way to perfect.
Can totally imagine Shindo having a public profile in which he leaves some likes for Midoriya at best, yet his secret fake profile is basically a simp account. That totally fits with him.
They should totally have a Rocky style training montage, it's just classic.
Excuse me but I have to comment this first: it would be funny af if Dabi's plan to get info from Burnin ends having a result he doesn't expects and Burnin gives him info that doesn't work for nothing, or maybe stuff Dabi already knows by that point.
Burnin probably would tell what kind of sweets Endeavor orders to his office, the kind of music he hears that she just described as "dad music", the colour of his rugs, and making constant coments about what a nice ass Endeavor has, yet nothing is remotely bad or can be used to harm Enji's public image because he turned to be a decent boss.
And Dabi will be like "I sleep with this bitch for nothing?!!!" and he gets the frustration of his life.
Oh btw Horikoshi cononized the incest in the Himura family, so DabiTen technically has a canon basis. Good on his part for doing us a favor.
Is nice share different visions for characters, after all that's the magic of rewrite stuff.
I'm not even the biggest fan of Dabi in terms of looks, but always found very weird how the anime constantly makes him look way more defined and with bigger muscles than he has in the manga.

Most likely yes, considering he already ruined the best villain he ever created who was Overhaul.
And even if Nine was present in the manga I can assure you Horikoshi would have used him as another cheap way to elevate crusty idiot, not any different of what happens in the movie.
Fun trivia: In the character page for Nine in the Volume Rising, we can see in Horikoshi sketches that the palms of his hands were supposed to have the little holes that allow an AFO user to physically steal quirks.

Unhinged observation
And now we have the tiddy-popping, abs-showing, whoring man himself Sanemi tits-mcghee Shinazugawa
We've got the infamous shot
Then this like wtffffffff? Anime-only mind youuuuu!
I dunno about y'all but this counts as fanservice to me
Imagine being the person tasked with lovingly inking Sanemi's abs lol
Sanemi isn't in this scene but Sanemi's tiddies are hehe
Same thing here, there's no need for this shot but ok 😂, Giyuu couldn't handle it so he had to dip
This is such a trad malewife pose lol, complete with the subby demeanor and the tiddy presentation. Giyuu is crying, screaming, throwing up 😭
Then there's this too, oof that waist!!!!
Then there's his official art like what's with that expression??? Hmmmmmmm??? Tryna rizz up the whole fanbase
To be continued!!
That's okay, I just was thinking Nine gives more of these big brother vibes but it works either way.
Rokuro also deserves love 🥲
I'm going to leave here some old drawings of nine + afo because yes
( is this some kind of headcanon? I think so! and it's the delusional headcanon type😓)
