I have to say....I really love your random thoughts.

Okay, here's this. Surprisingly, the kid really loves the chicken. Yup, shocker (no pun intended) It's just her dad, her aunt and her uncles that don't. Like, she would be perfectly fine with petting and feeding the chicken and all but once any of the others even dare to try that, it's instantly a free electrocution session. Yeah, even the chicken has its favorites.

What has been on my mind today

1. Old Man Yaoi (Wu x Trimaar)

2. My new ninjago oc (4 new ones)

3. Lloyd getting hit by a shovel

4. Cupid(oc) being an asshole

5. Rayne's lore (I don't even know if they have gender)

6. Seadragon Au (Old Man Yaoi 2.0)

7. Gazor (oc who I least have an idea on)

I feel like one of the biggest letdowns when it comes to the C.O.C.K was the lack of a REAL Vangelis and Cole rematch. They're the only ninja/villain pair that actually HAD that massive rivalry, Cole tore everything from Vangelis, his power, his throne, the adoration of his people, and his child (at least how he sees it, Vangelis literally disowned his daughter but acts like Cole turned her against him lmao).

It would have been fucking AWESOME to have seen an actual, enjoyable fight between them, not just a teensy bit of fighting and some banter or whatever. The original fight between Cole and Vangelis was, and still is, one of the greatest fight scenes in the entire series, and I feel like, had Crystalized done better and actually given them a longer fight, there could've been an even better addition to the greatest Ninjago fights ever...

Just so everyone is clear on where I stand: I love getting @'d in posts. I love it when people want to show me things. I get so happy about the fact that you saw something you thought I might like. It's probably gonna be just me, but does anyone else wish there could be a scene in the show where resurrected Garmadon saves Lloyd in a volcano?

This might seem like I'm a sucker-for-angst-starving for a callback to Season 1 about their relationship, and that's true. I just really want a reference in the show to when Garmadon saved little Lloyd from falling into lava fifteen seasons ago and start crying as I compare it to the scene in The Green Ninja.

And imagine current Lloyd's emotions when he realizes why this feels so familiar.

Writing advice from my uni teachers:

If your dialog feels flat, rewrite the scene pretending the characters cannot at any cost say exactly what they mean. No one says “I’m mad” but they can say it in 100 other ways.

Wrote a chapter but you dislike it? Rewrite it again from memory. That way you’re only remembering the main parts and can fill in extra details. My teacher who was a playwright literally writes every single script twice because of this.

Don’t overuse metaphors, or they lose their potency. Limit yourself.

Before you write your novel, write a page of anything from your characters POV so you can get their voice right. Do this for every main character introduced.

So uh, I have both good news and bad news.

The good news is, the hellspawn au is finally getting its first multi-chaptered fic. I'm planning on doing one per season following the spawning (it's still weird using that word lol even a year later) of our dear hellspawn. And since I started this AU last year with a tumblr post of Season 8, I guess it's only fair that's the season for the first fic as well.

So, you're getting some chapters about Lloyd's sub-par-but-trying-his-best parenting skills, a chaotic mini him, the other ninja trying their best to be helpful & Harumi being the walking red flag no one wants to acknowledge but her dad is head over heels for.

The bad news is uh...(you're all gonna hate me for this 😭) her name isn't starting with L.
