You know, that Mythbusters post legitimately changed my life. Before seeing it, I had exponentially more guilt and stress about not being able to sleep, which of course, further exacerbated my inability to sleep.
Now, every time I wake up about three am, knowing I have to get up at 6.45, instead of stressing and panicking about how my day is going to be sleep deprived and miserable, I just tell myself 'Time to activate Mythbusters Protocol' and lie there with my eyes closed safe in the knowledge that I am measurably reducing later feelings of exhaustion.
And when this happens, about 70% of the time the reduction of guilt and stress means I actually do fall back asleep, so all in all instead of getting only three or four hours sleep, I get five to six and a half.
Which y'know, major improvement in health and energy.

There was a TikTok post about an advertisement for βblood-making pills for weak womenβ someone found in a newspaper from the 1890s and everybody seemed to think it was just an example of the weird misogyny of the day and age but no. Anemia was a massive public health concern. It always has been through history but part of the reason we have this idea of old timey women thought history being physical weak, chronically cold and pale and fainting is because they often they were. Anemia was also a massive problem for men in that day but even now it disproportionally affects people who menstruate. So tonics full of stimulants and βhealthful vitaminsβ were marketed at young women in pages upon pages of advertisements in every newspaper. People generally felt like shit all the time back then.

For some reason, these links wonβt work if we paste them into our bio, but you can now access the episodes here.
I donβt think that we, as a society, talk enough about Uther ccβing someone on the email
Every time someone complain about how "this choice is not moral, if you chose it/did this in this videogame you are a terrible person!" my mind plays this on repeat
Didnβt quite turn out how I wanted, and very much inspired by the most recent episode of Steven Universe- that scene in particular.
Iβm high-key super down for any βtwo halves of the same characterβ interacting/ coming to terms with each other scenes. Theyβre so interesting.
That one tag I wanna see on Ao3 is "Blinky Galadrigal & Walter Strickler | Stricklander" XD
Why be ashamed of an absentee father when you can be embarrassed by the two who wonβt leave you alone
"Hiccup the right brained wild dragon boy" Hiccup the grounded, awkward, left-brained human dude who is snappy and sarcastic and quick to the draw, who can stand firm on the ground.
Hiccup, who wants to be rough yet jokes and ribs when others are smelly and violent, when they are messy and wild and pull pranks and roll around like animals, who walks with set shoulders, who isn't smooth, isn't at all like his mother in the way she crouches and crawls and rattles hollow bones with hunched shoulders, who can't connect to dragons so easy- not at her level, in a way that seems nearly supernatural, nonhuman- yet somehow he finds a way to make up for that, joking and speaking to his dragon as if he himself is a man.
Hiccup, who seems more comfortable in the forge than on his own two feet, who had to learn to have empathy for dragons, something which came natural to her.
Hiccup, who needs people too, who is able to connect with them in the same way his mother can't, who wants others the same way she is pushed away from them, both different in completely opposite ways, one more human than anyone just as the other is more dragon than man.
Hiccup is a human first and a dragon rider second which is exactly the kind of trait that allowed him to bond with Toothless in the first place, the same kind of trait that allowed him to make Berk better. Valka is a dragon first and a human second which was what made her such a good member of the dragon sanctuary.
Hiccup makes dragons human while Valka becomes a dragon herself.
