DAY 9: THE ACADEMY

featuring an OC I don't think I shared on Tumblr yet? She's the Alpha Sculptori, better known as Professor Tori. She's a senior sorcerer who specializes in mineral manipulation magic. Though she's specifically good at manipulating calcite based minerals, like marble and limestone!(and teeth.)

The Contell emblem is meant to resemble Polaris' shield. It everywhere at the academy. In the halls, in the committee room, and even the shield itself is displayed to honor the late sorcerer. He has to be reminded of Polaris every single day, and everywhere he goes in the academy. The only place he can remove it from is where it sits over his heart on his uniform. RIP bro sounds like a skill issue

There's like. One piece of official art where he has the badge on his uniform. except I refuse to believe that piece counts cuz his hair isn't even rainbow in that artwork 😤

waaaaaa it'd be so cool for this concept to be explored, bro it's the sort of unspoken bitterness that all the guide sorcerers hold towards their world-baring responsibilities, Alpheratz especially being a prime example of the gifted kid now completely burnt out. After the first great disaster bc many of the great sorcerers died, what the constellations ended up doing was having KIDS inherit the title, therefore the academy preparing for THEM to be the ones at the front lines when cosmic disaster strikes again, but like o(-( I haven't even thought about the fact that all of them have actual NAMES, they're simply not important enough to be mentioned ig :(

actually speaking of sirius losing his identity by becoming a sorcerer do yall ever think about that. when you become a sorcerer you lose your name and become a title and dedicate yourself to the work that comes with it. you dont age, you dont die, you were chosen by a constellation to become part of something greater than yourself. do you think anyone remembers what their names used to be
