Behati is teaching Yuno to stand his ground đŞđ˝ (he could use some grammar class, though lol)
I donât talk a lot about them, so in case you donât know, Behati is Yunoâs big sister. Theyâre the last Auvies(elves) in Martra and sheâs raising him alone in a hut in the forest, so itâs gonna be a nice help when Ethan teaches him to write Latin Alphabet properly!
Yet another backstory!
AO3 / Wattpad
âI want that squirrel.â Ethan pointed at the tree that was triple his height.
His mother took off her sunglasses, searched for the animal between the leaves, and analyzed her little boy.
âYouâll get your clothes dirty.â
âI can wash them later.â
She saw the squirrel far away, really far away, holding a nut and moving its nose. Such an ugly creatureâŚ
âDo you want to eat that?â
âItâs not for eating! It is to be my pet!â
âPet?â She frowned and leaned on. âIs there a special reason for this?â
âBecause Tony is small, and it will be cool to chase him there!â Ethan put his hands together. âPlease, mum, can I have it?!â
She looked up and down at his new outfit: polo shirt, shorts over his knees, led shoes, and, lastly, his puppy face.
Fragile. And extremely cute.
She sighed. âYes, you can, but go slowly so you donât fall.â
âAlright, mum! I love you!â said him, already running at the tree.
He arrived at the base and checked if he was in the same direction as Tony. The squirrel didnât move at all, so it would be easy to catch him!
Hugging the tree, Ethan put a foot on a bump, and pushed his body up. He gripped the next branch, tested if it held his weight, then pushed up again.
He kept doing it, slowly as his mother told him to, until the largest branches finally arrived. It was the hardest part: to get over there; but Ethan could see Tony just at the edge, and he wouldnât stop now that he was this close.
Placing his hands in minor areas, he managed to get his torso over. To get his legs up as well, he just had to drag himself on the branch and⌠ta-dah! He was safely sat!
The squirrel was still with its nut, trying to open it with big teeth. It made Ethan smirk. Tony was kinda similar to Sam in appearance; would they like to meet each other? Ethan was certain they would, so he should hurry.
He moved subtly to not scare Tony, just like his mum did in other times. It would probably work with him, too, if he did the exact same thing.
âHi, Tony,â he whispered. âDo you wanna go to my house? Thereâs a lot of food there.â
He showed his hand to the squirrel, who stared for a long time before approaching. His tiny paws let go of the nut and touched Ethanâs hand, as if searching for something.
âHey, this tickles!â Ethan giggled and squirmed as Tony traveled his arm and shoulders, stopping over his head. âWhat are you doing there? Is it comfortable?â
Ethan could feel the squirrel pulling his hair, then going still as if he found the perfect spot. After realizing he was ready, the boy put the nut in his pocket.
âNow, we just gotta get down andâŚâ He froze.
When did he get that high?
His body tensed as he looked down for the first time. No way he could jump from this height; heâd turn into a pancake! What could he do?! What could he do?!
He hugged the branch, looking for his mother who was just a minuscule red point on the green.
âMum!â he called, but she didnât move. âMOMMYYYY!â
Tony squeaked and left in a rush, jumping on Ethanâs legs and causing more screams.
âNO, TONY! DONâT RUN!â Ethan wanted to catch the squirrel, but his body was locked. âCOME BACK, PLEASE!â
Yet the squirrel disappeared in the leaves, totally forgetting about the promises of food and new home. Ughhh, what a traitor!
Ethan looked down again and his heart sank.
His mother wasnât on the bench anymore. Where did she go?! Did she leave him stuck there?! How could sâ
âEthan, is everything okay?!â Her voice came from below, returning his soul to his body. âDid you get the squirrel?!â
âHE LEFT!â Ethan carefully looked down, but regretted it immediately. Spirits, what a nauseating place to be in⌠âIâM STUCK, MOMMY! HELP!â
âYou climbed up; you figure out how to get down!â
His eyes darted at the horrific distance between him and the ground, and, nuh-uh. Nope. Sov.
âMUM, ITâS TOO HIGH! I LOVE MY LIFE! I WONâT DO IT!â
She chuckled softly. âItâs not hard, son! Just put your feet in the same place you put before, and climb down!â
âBUT I WILL FALL AND DIE!â
âYou wonât, I promise you!â
âMUMMMMMMMM!â He shut his eyes and gripped the tree like a koala. âIâM NOT GOING DOWN!â
âAnd Iâm not going to get you!â She sat beside the tree. âIf youâre staying there, we can pass the night here. I donât mind!â
Ethan couldnât believe it. Was it for real? She really wasnât coming to save him?? Even if heâs clearly in danger?! She doesnât mind if he dies?!
âŚno, she must be kidding. She was letting Ethan stay for longer because he broke her bracelet. She said it was fine, but maybe she secretly got angry at him, and now was taking advantage of his situation. That must be it. He just gotta wait until she pities him.
Yeah, she was going to get him soon.
Soon.
At any moment.
At any second.
When she feels like it.
Before it was night.
She would do it.
However, time passed, Ethan didnât move an inch, and his belly was getting wild. The only thing he had all afternoon was an ice cream, and now his stomach was trying to eat him inside out.
Meanwhile, his mum was there, laid down and resting peacefully on the grass.
âMummyyyyyy⌠Iâm hungry!â
âMe too.â She didnât even open her eyes. âA shame you let that squirrel escape.â
âTony wasnât food! He was my pet!â
âAs you say, dear.â
And she kept silent, not uttering a single word about saving him. The crickets and owls were talking more than her, at this point!
His lips trembled when he talked again.Â
âMum, will you really leave me alone here forever?!â
âOf course no, am I not here?â She smiled. âI wonât leave you alone, Ethan; I am letting you learn something useful.â
âBut itâs past the time of learning anything! Itâs time for dinner, then fairytale, then bedtime!âÂ
âI know, it will be such a hassle to fix it when we get home, so can you climb down quickly?â
The boy stared at his mum, measuring once more how hard he could fall. Maybe it wasnât that far, butâŚ
âItâs dark, I canât see.â
âEthanâŚâ She huffed and got up, resting her hand on her hip. âWe both know you can see clearlyâthe moon is full, and your vision is better than mineâ, so stop procrastinating and get down!â
Ethan breathed in deeply, gazing from his mum to the tree trunk. He could see everything, as she said, but could he do it?âŚ
âSweet, hear me,â she continued. âItâs not hard. Drag yourself to the trunk, hold it, then put your foot on the nearest branch. After being sure it wonât fall, repeat the steps until you get here. Itâs the same as going up, but in the inverse order. Easy, right?â
âEasy, saying! Itâs not you here, mumâŚâ he grumbled and swallowed dry.
However, he knew he had no other way to leave. It was climb down or climb down, so he stretched his hands forward. Slowly, focused and shaking, he moved on the branch towards his goal.Â
Without looking down, he got at the trunk and squeezed it with his arms. His heart was about to break his rib cage, but he continued the process: a foot down, blindly looking for a new support, then descending over it.
Sometimes Ethan would misstep on a lump and feel his blood vanishing, but then heâd find a way to stabilize himself, say thanks to the stars, and keep the journey down.
It wasnât easy at all; it was hard, terrible. He felt like heâd fall at each action, hurt himself while falling, hit the ground, go to the hospital, have a head surgery, then die, leaving his mum crying for him the rest of her life.
And this was exactly what happened.
Disturbed by his own thoughts, he glanced down for a second. A millisecond. A tenth of a millisecond. And that was when gravity pulled him down with all its might.
It was fast. Too fast! Ethan screamed and reached for something to hold, but he only held onto leaves who folded with him. He couldnât seem to stop! He was going to hit the ground! He was going to die!
âETHAN!â
He shut his eyes, prepared for the inevitable, for the impact, andâ
He rolled like a barrel, in a tight space, muffled noises, and aching body. When he stopped spinning, his brain didnât. It kept sick, feeling suffocated. His lungs were heavy, and it just was tight. Everything was unbelievably tight.
The voice was what made him realize the cause of that problem.
âThunder! Begone evil!â His mother cursed behind him, still pressing him against her chest. âDo you want to give me a heart attack, Ethan?!â
He couldnât tell apart her heartbeats from his, but he knew they both werenât fine. She was shaking. Or was it him? They were too close. Her arms were entangled around his body and he could feel her uneven breath on his hair.
AhâŚ
Safe. He was safe. He didnât die. His mum saved him. She got him before he hit the ground. She saved him.
He held weakly to her hands, and the tears came at once.Â
âEthanâŚâ she called and turned him over. âEthan? Are you hurt somewhere? Did you hit anything??â
He shook his head, but she checked him whole as he didnât stop to cry. He couldnât, and he didnât understand why. Instead, he jumped into her arms again, hugging her neck and weeping louder.
âSon?âŚâ muttered her.
She didnât push him away, nor told him to be quiet, nor mocked his ugly face.
She just held him back, pulled him closer, and mumbled softly:
âI am here, Ethan. I am here.â
Nixies
Nixies are like fairies. Theyâre born from flowers that survive Shizoresâ rain/acid, not having any sexual or romantic relationships, only friendships. They also donât have gender, having androgynous appearance.
They canât talk (verbally), so they use gestures and touches to communicate. For this reason, they stay in groups to facilitate their interactions. A minority of them know how to write in Martrakoji, but theyâre clumsy with it because theyâre tiny, making it quite hard to talk to another species.
They donât eat, but need to drink loads of water. They also donât live for too long in a single life (when they die, they go back to dirt and may reincarnate in the future with some memories).
Their function is to protect plants and attack anyone who dares to destroy them. They clean the air, too, making it easier to breathe by breaking down heavier gases and increasing the oxygen saturation. Some of them have the capacity to restaure dead plants, or release a pollen that enhance airflow and heals living beings who passes there.
Itâs always amazing to walk in their region, you can feel your lungs getting happy at breathing their air. You just need to be careful to donât hurt any of them or the plants. They will chase you down with poison, diseases or block your oxygen until you die. đ
They are famous in the medicine world for their breakthroughs in neurological subjects. Kenyan is a chemist now, but she met Sylris in their medicine college. She realized it wasnât her thing and changed to chemistry, as Sylris specialized in surgeries. In this meantime, they got married, and soon they noticed Kenyan was barren.
Sylris got a bit ahead with his skills of âgiving life to peopleâ through his surgeries, and developed a crazy god-complex, in which he believes theyâre gods and should be even more superior. Immortality, he thinks first, and secondly he plans to create life. A new human. Theirs only.
Kenyan hated the idea because Sylris was experimenting on orphan-homeless children, but he justified it saying he was saving them from a worst fate. And then, to diminish the possibility of their death, Kenyan started helping him. So, they kept the experiments, changing defective organs, replacing memories, resetting a human until they werenât a person but just a body.
This last boy worked. Kenyan learned to be attached to him, to call him son despite everything. Their son, their chosen one, their Seth. He wasnât very responsive in the startâSylris messed his brain a tad muchâbut Kenyan was patient with him. She read him books, taught him about the world, helped him to move⌠until he got better. He was quiet, but they knew he could talk, play, question, laugh, call her mum. Their miracle child, Seth.
But they knew they couldnât show him to the world yet. How could they explain it? Kenyan didnât want to say he was adopted, because he was hers. So instead of admitting his wrong existence, they kept him hidden on their home. Thatâs it, until a young brilliant girl asks to come over.
She was the niece of a friend from work, getting on the chemical field and wanting to meet her idol. Kenyan couldâve said no, but doing so would make it feel like they were hiding somethingâand they wereâ, but the world couldnât know it. So there was Ămile going to their home with Seth hidden in the basement lab.
(Iâm gonna write the rest later, Iâm lazy right now đ¤đ˝)
ALTER EGO
Another game! I honestly thought Es was a man, but then I went to look fanarts and I realized she was a woman. Anyway, the drawing is mine, I do it as I wish.
Iâm also playing other game besides this, and why are they always black-and-white with minor colorful details? Is it easier to paint?
So, I was watching Avengers Age of Ultron yesterday, and I decided to bring my fic back to life đŤśđ˝
Iâm reviewing the chapters I posted in 2023, and only then posting them again. And I HOPE IâLL BE ABLE TO WRITE MORE CHAPTERS. (Iâm too inconsistent, sorry đ)
BehĂnji Sume Sohiel
Ad Xinie Maivtre â Ad Auvana Odabrani â Ad Mizae Iskatram
Translated, it means âBlessed be Sohiel. The Pure Maivtre, The Wise Odabrani, The Loving Iskatram.â
As I said some posts ago, Sohiel is the holy family of Martra. They are both religious figures and royalty as well. Itâs something determined many ages ago, a culture deeply enrooted in the citizens.
The current lineage is Kenyan as Maivtre and Sylris as Odabrani; they're married.
Sylris is so handsome, gosh. Look at those lashes and hands.
That one meme, but theyâre deranged đŤśđ˝
Seth Yaneh
From the modern AU (or a new story, Iâm thinking about the name).
He is Kenyanâs and Sylrisâs child, but not in the traditional way. They kinda rescued (kidnapped?âŚâŚ) him from a death scene, but Sylris went a bit too far on his cure. Letâs say he literally reset the kid and âprogrammedâ him into believing theyâre his parents.
They slay at parenting, donât they? âşď¸ /jk
Below, the moment Sylris first met him (cw: blood, abuse, death?)
Seth doesnât remember about it, and he also doesnât know how was his life before. Sylris has an idea of how it was after searching on it, but chose to not mention it to anyone. Itâs like he deleted that child and created a new one: their precious son, Seth.
(I got lazy and didnât make the drawing đ¤đ˝ itâs also written in a different format, but enjoy it)
Interview - Sylris
Greetings, citizens of Martra and all surroundings! Today, Odabraniâour king and messengerâ provided us a glimpse of his personal life!
âHello, my friends.â Smiles gently. âYou can call me âSylrisâ for today. Itâs a basic personal information to have: my full name, âSylris Kem Yanehâ, and my age, somewhere in my 40s.â
Oh! Such a beautiful name, Sylris! If you are watching us from Earth, his age is around 26-28 human years! Now shall we start?!
1. Sylris, many would say youâre a master of manipulation. Whatâs your secret to always staying ahead of everyone else?
âDo they say it?â Chuckles. âWell, itâs not a secret for anyone: patience is the answer. Trying to get ahead of them will make you get ahead of yourself, and this is when you fail. So take it easy, as if this is a walk in the park.â Smiles.
2. Youâve lived through some⌠questionable situations in your past, yet you seem to have come out on top. Is there any moment you regret, or do you consider everything a necessary step to where you are now?
âHm⌠tough question.â Leans back in the couch, leg crossed and hands together. âI wouldnât call it regret, but there are certain things I could have done better, made a different choiceâŚâ sighs. âEntertaining that ugly noble was so boring, so easy⌠Kenyan is far more interesting to deal with.â Smirks. âBut I donât regret my outcome, and Iâm sure my steps were extremely necessary to get me here.â
3. You seem to have a very⌠unique perspective on relationships, especially with Kenyan. Some might say youâre controlling or manipulative, but do you see it as simply âguidingâ her? What is it you want from her, exactly?
A smile slowly creeps on his lips.
âWhat do I want from my wife? Isnât it obvious? What more could I wish, but the best for us?â
âYou might have the vision Iâm manipulating her, but at the end, werenât they all her choices? Wasnât she the one who pushed them away? Wasnât I the one to stay?â Fidgets with his ring. âNot wanting to brag, but I do much better than certain people who âswear to love you till the moon and backâ,â says in a high pitch and laughs.
4. You have a son, Ethan. Do you care about him? Or is he just another piece in your grand design?
âEthan Yaneh, my son.â Hums, tapping finger on thigh. âI must admit: I wasnât a present father in his life, despite my wishes. But what could I do? Kenyan didnât want me close to him, claiming I would âintoxicate the kid with my behaviorâ.â Snorts. âSuch an idiocy, if I must add. Heâd be far better living with us, learning important lessons, instead of stay in Earth playing house. And the worst? Kenyan isnât there to watch him, so who knows how he will appear next?â Frowns up slightly and looks away. âAs my son, I expected heâd be at least a bit dignified. I know he was smart at school when he was a kid, but I worry his intelligence go only for academic mattersâŚâ sighs.
5. Letâs say things donât go your way. Letâs say you lose. What then? What happens to you if youâre outplayed?
âIt wonât happen.â
âŚbut in a âwhat-ifâ. Just in caseâ
âIt wonât happen.â
He stares at the interviewer, straight face.
Okay⌠could you at least explain?
Lifts an eyebrow. âI made sure of it?â Crosses his arms âNo matter what, I am sure I will win. Even if I die, I win. So thereâs no reason to delve deeper into this subject⌠next question.â
6. You hold so much power, so much control. But tell meâwhen you were younger, powerless, no oneâwhat kept you going?
âAs I said, patience first. But itâs desire what run us, no?â Tilts head slightly. âDesire to have something greater, to be someone bigger, to do things better. I desired, so I moved. And look where it took me?â Smirks, glancing at the luxurious room of the castle.
7. You talk about desire like itâs the only force that matters. But do you ever just⌠want something simple? Something human?
âHm⌠greed itself is a very human feeling; saying that my power and desires arenât âhumanâ for being complex is pretty rude.â Leans back. âBut I understand your reasoning. In my case, I lost my parents when I was young, when my place was enslaved. Perhaps it made me miss something to call âhomeâ? So having this castle, these people to rule, my wonderful wife, and a cute son?â Smiles âWell, I guess I fulfilled my âhumanâ wishes.â
8. You say you love your wife, your son. But if they ever truly betrayed youâif Kenyan escaped, if Ethan fought against youâwhat then?
ââŚI donât see it happening. I donât know why they would do such a thing, butâŚâ Fidgets with the sleeve of shirt. âIf they ever do, Iâll just have to bring them back?â Smiles softly. âAs a father, my role is to keep our family working, right? And I exercise my function with perfectionâthey wouldnât stay far for a long time. They would eventually miss it, no? The comfort of being together? Of having a home, just like I did?â
9. Youâve been in control of everything, all this time. But tell me the truthâjust once. Are you ever afraid?
âWell, it gets a bit annoying when something goes out of planned. I do have a plan for everything, but changing the strategy in a rush is always a mess.â Sighs and rolls eyes.
Hm, I didnât ask if you get annoyed; I asked if you get afraid. Fear. Worry. Do you ever feel like that?
Frowns. âWhy would I? Nothing out of ordinary will happen, nothing scary as my late mother-in-law destroying my planet.â Looks away, nonchalant voice. âIf I was to die; okay, it wouldnât be bad. If Kenyan was to die; a problem, but I would fix. If Ethan was to die; I told Kenyan he had to be here.â
âSo, no, nothing scares me. Iâm at my comfort zone, 24/7.â
THANK GOD AGAIN CUZ I REMEMBERED I SENT THIS CHAPTER TO SOMEONE, SO IT WAS SAVE THERE đâ¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸
I just deleted the chapter unintentionally.
Thatâs it, lemme kmsâ /jk
(Explanation: I was trying to write in Ellipsus cuz everyone says you shouldnât write in Google Docs. Then, I was going to read it now, but the work name was in that initial tutorial, and below was the drafts (my chapter). I, innocently, clicked to delete this tutorial page, thinking it was just another page like the drafts, and it said: itâll be deleted forever, and I was, okay, fine, I donât care about the tutorial đ¤đ˝ then it closed the window and all the drafts went with God â ď¸ I even cried hahaâŚ)
(Thank God I had part of the chapter in Google Docs, but itâs lacking 900 words, give or take. Ughhhhhh Iâm wondering if itâs karma for making Ethanâs life so difficult đŠ)
