A History of Wild Places by Shea Urnshaw (adult)
Death and the Conjurer by Tom Mead (YA)
The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding by Alexandra Bracken (YA)
My thoughts on the Marauders fandom:
It has always been a dream of mine to be a popular creator within the Harry Potter/Marauders fandom. I have thought about Harry Potter or the Marauders everyday since 2012.
I have spoken so many amazing people who have different backgrounds than me and learned about different cultures. The marauders fandom introduced me to the LGBTQ+ community where I discovered who I am. I have lost friends and family members and struggled with the religion I grew up with because of my own sexuality and gender identity.
The people who I have met through this fandom have always been there for me. This fandom has shown me what love is through art and writing. I have watched strangers grow up and I have watched friends come and go on Tumblr.
Harry Potter has given me a place to belong when I felt like I did not belong anywhere. I have learned that good people do bad things and the everyone is capable of becoming better through these books. Writing fanfiction has breed my creativity and cultivated a community that I have always been proud to be apart of. Queer people have taken the words jkr wrote and made them into something important—not only to me but to everyone in the community.
It's so hard to watch what is happening in the UK right now especially as someone who does not live there. To hear about things people I care about are going through. This is not about Harry Potter. The thing that makes Harry Potter so important to me is the people in the community and it is our job as friends to help protect the rights of the people that makes the stories so special.
I have many resources linked in my pinned post please look at them. This fandom should be a safe space for all people and a safe space to walk away from if that is what it comes to. Please do not support official Harry Potter content. Being a marauders fan doesn't mean you are not a Harry Potter fan.
I care for you all and I hope that you are all safe, healthy, and happy. Please try to remember the good about the fandom but do not ignore the bad.

"OH BOY, IT WOULD SURE SUCK IF THE FAE TOOK ME!" cried the man banging pots and pans together in the middle of a mushroom circle.
This will probably be controversial, but I feel like it needs to be talked about. (Marauders fandom edition part 1?)
Before I say anything else, I want to preface this by saying that everyone can have their ideas and headcanons about characters, you do you. So what I think we need to talk about is things like this:
“Omg no, the Marauders are definetly all straight, wydm??” “In canon they’re all cishet, can we keep that?” “Why is every single character some form of gay?”
In canon, little is known about them, but that’s not my point. This fandom is made up by 90% queer people that are making representation for themselves in media, because in said media, most of the “representation” is just one stereotypical queer person so the production team can claim they’re not homophobic. So when you take representation made by queer people for queer people and start packing it back into the same cishet boxes in was in before, you’re taking something that wasn’t made for you, and altering it to fit in a way you like. This sub-fandom wasn’t made by queer people so that straight people could take it and rewire it to fit them. Some *specific* instances of this are asexual Evan Rosier, trans Regulus Black, pansexual James Potter, and aroace Peter Pettigrew. While I’m not sure if this was representation some in this fandom made for themselves or others, it’s still important. What I’m really trying to say (it’s 12:36 at night, please) is that this fandom wasn’t made for straight people.
Marlene McKinnon isn’t headcanoned to be a lesbian so a weird uncle named Fred could fetishize her, she’s headcanoned to be a lesbian so that a 14 year old girl could see a character like her and feel seen. Sirius Black is not headcanoned to be gay/bi so a lonely wine mom could sexualize him. He’s headcanoned to be gay/bi so that a teenaged boy doesn’t feel so weird anymore.
Again, it’s okay to headcanon whoever to want to be this that or the other, that’s not what I’m addressing. It’s making everyone the same carbon copies of straight, white, and cis.
I’m done yapping now, go drink some water.
If you read this and are queer (or know anyone queer/ or support/ as long as you think we deserve basic human rights) I'm forcing you to reblog! hehehhehehehe
