Secondary characters need more love! o(>< )o (Part 1: Sully)

Ok, well I'm going to be honest, I love the secondary characters in this novel and I want more to appear (o^▽^o)

It's as simple as that and I'm going to rant about how they deserved to appear more or have greater importance and participation (；⌣̀_⌣́)

Let's start with Sully, you remember him? I highly doubt it Σ(▼□▼メ) He is one of the characters who most deserved greater importance (」゜ロ゜)」

He and his grandmother are the only human elementalists in the entire novel (￣□￣」) ! Why in the name of all the gods is it not of greater importance (╬ Ò﹏Ó) !?

Not only that, it only appeared twice! TWICE! ヽ( `д´*)ノ

Heck, his elemental can literally purify dead mana after it started imitating the fire of destruction ヾ( ￣O￣)ツ

What's more, his elemental is a baby! And he's already powerful enough for the world tree to throw him out for fear of being incinerated! Why don't they respect his canonical power and make him participate more (＞ｍ＜) ?!

I really like the responsible older brother-annoying younger brother dynamic that the two of them have ( ◡‿◡ ♡)

Why couldn't they in canon, don't I know? Give him a good character arc (＃＞＜) ?!

His character is so underrated that after he leaves with the elves he is never mentioned, what the hell happened to him?! Disappeared out of nowhere or what ヽ(　￣д￣)ノ?!

I feel like he could have been given more involvement for example in the Molden Kingdom (←_←)

He could have helped purify the dead mana in the labyrinth and probably helped create more chaos, we must not forget that no matter how innocent Sully is, his elemental was raised by our favorite wind elemental (Chaos! Destruction! Love! Thanks! ＼(≧▽≦))

I also feel like he might have become good friends with Toonka and Harold for some reason and I think the interactions between the three of them would be really fun ヽ(o^―^o)ﾉ

Edit: I just realized the implications of Sully's elemental (who I will now call Spark) accompanying Cale to Sha-Orlen (*^ω^)

The idea that they turn Sully and Spark into the Saint of the God of Purification (Cale does not count for them, he is the incarnation of their god) by thinking that the flame of purification is alive and it is Sully who takes care of it and thus misinterpreting everything the situation believing that her god had left her in her care (￣ω￣)

I think that at some point GoP would offer him the position of real Saint so that his followers won't be praising the wrong person and Sully (due to lack of sleep caused by escaping from the most fanatical) accepts ¯＼_(ツ)_/¯

I bet you all you want that he's going to complain about "his god" to Cage for months after that ┐(︶▽︶)┌

Don't remind me, I try to encourage everyone I know to read the novel because I need to be able to talk to someone from TCF before I go crazy and whenever I try to give a coherent synopsis I fill it with spoilers (⇀‸↼‶)

What's worse is that I recommended the novel to my parents, forgetting that the torture scenes are an essential part of understanding the story and now I'm afraid that they will steal my phone and computer if they ever actually read it, I just hope that if that happens now are hooked enough to ignore the gore ▓▒░(°◡°)░▒▓

Honestly the best advice I can give to someone who wants to start Trash Of The Count's Family is to never and I mean NEVER ask a TCF fan about what TCF is but ask a person who has read the manhwa casually.

Because we will never give you a simple answer. Oh no no no we:

Will spoil the everloving crap out of the novel. All of it. We just can't help ourselves. Never have I met a TCF fan who doesn't spoil the novel. I think we just forget that they are spoilers and that there are people that haven't read the novel. I have legitimately had someone ask me "What's an Eruhaben?" and I was confused for a solid 5 minutes until I remembered that there are people who haven't actually read the novel

Will not shut up. You will get a rundown of our top 10 favorite characters, top 10 favorite villains, top 10 favorite battles, top 10 favorite scenes, top 10 favorite angst scenes, etc. YOU GET THE POINT! Probably because we don't have a big fandom we get excited when new people join. You will have to read a 10 page essay it'snot a choice. There are multiple powerpoints the fans have made and I wish I was being sarcastic about this

Will scare you because we are insane overly enthusiastic about TCF. There are some inside jokes that only the fandom will get but we usually don't even try to be subtle we just go "Oh man I can't wait for Cale to be hurt so badly he's bleeding so profoundly and probably choking on his own blood! In canon!!" Or "He needs soggy apple pies or he will die!" Or "Why won't slacker life-chan return Cale's feelings?" Or "White Radish *cue laughing soundtrack*". You will think we are deranged but I can confirm none of us has been put in a mental asylum so far from what I'm aware of👍. We're just silly but our silly will concern people

Now if you find all these factors as things that will motivate you to read the novel than please welcome you'll fit in here just fine.

The first battle of Maple Castle

The animation of the battle of Maple Castle encouraged me to re-read it and I really enjoyed it (⌒▽⌒)☆

Spoilers for chapters 280 to 288

The Whipper king is a fucking cowardly bastard who deserved to die during the civil war and it is certain that unless he acts as an enemy or obstacle he will die in every fic I am ever going to write 凸(`△´＃)

The way Toonka encouraged his soldiers made me enjoy his unique style of charisma and the strategy meeting was simply amazing.

The beginning of the battle was fabulous, in fact the references to KRS's life and the cataclysm were fabulous and now I understand everything correctly (*¯︶¯*)

Toonka ignoring all formalities and attacking instantly was simply art.

The way the soldiers (from both sides) reacted once the barbarians and the third brigade clashed was incredible, I like the way it is indicated that even those who are not warriors as long as they are from the Whipper kingdom are crazy (at least from the eyes of the empire) (*꒦ິ꒳꒦ີ)

I really liked the clash between Toonka and Huten since it shows the character of both parties and that same meeting is what motivates Kanelle to go ahead with the plan (*≧ω≦*)

I liked the bone birds, they show the progress of the Whipper kingdom in accepting magic again, from nothing to just magical tools to magic being allowed but only as long as no one in the town gets hurt. Huten being tricked, the native wizards acting freely and unleashing their full power, the dwarves gaining determination to defeat the lions, and Cale discovering his new power; All of this happened in a single chapter (385) and it was so fast that I felt like I was really there, sheltered in the castle and seeing the war in front of me. That Huten thought Cale would never rise up against the empire was funny paraphrasing Raon "Human! Are we scamming the Duke?!" Hay and Raon! It's super cute! The way he said that all of Cale's powers had to be fortified and then got sad because he didn't have enough in his piggy bank touched my heart! (っ˘ω˘ς )

The wizards creating a bottleneck for the warriors to fight with Toonka and his people excited was great! I felt my adrenaline rising! ٩(◕‿◕)۶

The political plots in the background were just the icing on the cake and Choi Han pledging to stay hidden and being a tsundere with Toonka I loved it! Huten wanting to kill Toonka and automatically forgetting about him as soon as Choi Han arrived was very "I don't care about you anymore, I have a new rival" style, but it happens that that rival is just as (more) stronger than me and seems to have come out of hell ↑_(ΦwΦ)Ψ

Meanwhile Choi Han used it as a springboard to improve his sword art. Huten thinking that Choi Han is a noble for his "refined sword art" was funny and in the background the soldiers going crazy and shouting instructions like they should tie the enemies' feet improved the situation a lot (ᵔ◡ᵔ)b

Choi Han understanding that he didn't fall into darkness thanks to his family was very cute to me and his joint battle with Toonka was great. I like the way they treat the "grand Duke of the empire" like a rag doll <(￣ω￣)>

And the first time I saw the Whipper kingdom strategy I didn't understand it but now I was excited to reach the climax of it, the chaos caused was glorious with all the rubble falling and every armor destroyed \(✯◡✯)/

This is how the first battle of Maple Castle ends.

Secondary characters need more love! o(>< )o (Part 2: Hans)

I know that in fanfiction and fanarts he has many fans, but it must be admitted that in the canon, apart from being a cat lover and a good butler, he was not much delved into (￣ヘ￣)

He is known to be good at fighting with daggers and a spear, but at no point in the story is he seen fighting and I feel disappointed in that (＃￣ω￣)

Also, now that I'm rereading the novel and reading the manhwa, I got the idea that Hans could be a good shaman (︶︹︺)

Why did it occur to me? For one thing only, cats (＾• ω •＾)

If Hans becomes a shaman there is no doubt that his animal companions would be cats, something he would definitely enjoy (づ ◕‿◕ )づ

If that ever became canon I would like to see how he and Jopis interact (O.O)

From my point of view there are only two options: they get along immediately or they fight like, well, cats and dogs ╮(￣ω￣;)╭

I would have liked to see him fight at some point and generally have more participation (￢_￢;)

His character has no background, what is his past? Where does he come from? How was he hired? Why did he become a butler? ლ(¯ロ¯"ლ)

I want to know all that and more, even better if he is given a positive character arc, advancement with his abilities, and good development (o^ ^o)

This dynamic makes my little broken heart beat with emotion (*˘︶˘*).｡.:*♡

The Soos embody that "childhood friends who have witnessed every embarrassing moment in each other's life and are so used to each other's bullshit they don't question any of the actions the other does anymore" energy

And I have receipts for this:

Cale: *stops the Plaza Terror Invident and coughs up blood for the first time*

Choi Jung Soo and Sui Khan: *pops party poppers* congrats to our dongsaeng he did it! Now let's cut the cake

God of Death to Choi Jung Gun: they prepared the "Congrats Cale on Fucking Up Your Slacker Life Again" banner 3 weeks ago. Cale hadn't even planned on going to the plazza yet

Choi Jung Soo: *crashes from the ceiling right in front of his friends who have been looking for his fugitive ass for weeks*

Cale: oh we found him

Sui: *mild annoyance but not surprised*

Choi Jung Soo: hi guys

I feel that if this were to happen, the Henituse family would realize that Cale doesn’t think of himself as part of the family. I believe that even in canon, he had trouble accepting the Henituse family as his own, at least initially (which might be contradicted by Cale’s thoughts during his first encounter with Venion, but let a girl dream (ᵔ.ᵔ)).

The Henituse family could have quite interesting reactions if Hans ever informed them about the diary.

Lily might feel guilty and sad, somehow implying that her Oraboni is not part of the family, and she would try to change her way of thinking by spending more time with him.

Basen might feel guilty, thinking he’s replacing his Hyung-Nim, even though we know it’s not true. He would try to convince Cale to accept the heir position and distance himself, possibly no longer “bothering” him.

Violan, similarly, would feel guilty, being seen as a replacement for Jour. Instead of continuing to distance herself to allow him peaceful mourning time, she would try to spend more time with him to improve their relationship.

And Deruth would feel terrible; from Cale’s perspective, it might seem like he’s replacing Jour and Cale with Violan and Basen. Deruth’s distancing and problem-solving approach didn’t help either. In a brave moment, he would probably try to go to Cale and apologize for everything.

One of the things that has also been in my head for a while is Cale having a journal.

Like- Cale starts a journal when he realizes that he's going to be a lot more involved in the novel's events than intended so to make room for new records he writes things down

When it's songs that he liked as Krs, he'd scrapbook a background and write them down

He'd also add artwork on some pages and has art of people. Like Choi han training, Ron with the lemonaid, Alberu doing whatever- he'd do a bunch of profiles for each person or maybe just have a separate book for that all together-

Cale doesn't really let others see either book, just changing the topic when it comes up. Everyone eventually learns not to ask.

Would be very interesting if there was a connection with Og!Cale and Krs where krs!Cale began to dream about some of og!Cale's memories

After a particularly bad memory, Cale is more closed off towards Deruth and Deruth doesn't know what he did wrong.

Cale obviously puts something about this in his journal

In honor of og!cale, he makes a drawing of his mother and him and doesn't use the 'Henituse' last name, he uses 'Thames'

The thing that Cale has learned about the original Cale is that he's never really felt like he belonged with Violian and Deruth. Always feeling like he was intruding.

So for plot convenience, Cale is called by the crown prince in the middle of writing and leaves the book out in the open.

Hans, who's been assigned to clean Cale's room, See's a book that has no cover or title or anything and opens it out of curiosity.

Hans sees a few drawings of the kids and naturally is excited because 1- Cale can draw really well, and 2- He loves cats.

Then he keeps going through the book, looking through drawings of him, Ron, Choi han, and- the Henituse family with Cale not in the portrait.

Hans is confused. (Deep down, he knows exactly what this implies)

He assumes that the drawing isn't finished (it's already been signed) and closes the book with shakey hands. Maybe the Count doesn't need to know about this-

Except when he comes back next week, the drawing hasn't changed.

Huh.
