This art is my official farewell to fandom, which I was in from 2014 to 2018 (yeap, from the very first part)...

And all I can say is that I'm sorry that things turned out this way... Goodbye.

Due to the holidays, I have a little time to take a break, so I downloaded Vox-shimeji to my computer...

And this is the moment that gave me the idea for this art:

- Just sit still! Stop crawling all over my screen! I can't see the stream because of you!

- I am Spiderman! I can crawl wherever I want!!!

I continue to practice digital art.)

You know, I have a tradition of re-watching “Gravity Falls” every summer, which appeared back when the first season was just coming out.

But since I read Flat Dreams a few years ago and, one might say, EVERYTHING related to this amazing fanfic, the item “re-watch Gravity Falls” has also added the item “re-read Flat World, etc.”

I can’t find words to express my gratitude not only for the "best summer", but also for this masterpiece among fanfictions!!!

And every time, like the first time, my heart breaks into pieces at this moment... (/T~T)/

“Sleep,” he says. “I am here.”

Based on real events.

"Just a dream."

I had a dream.

Ten years have passed since that moment, but I remember perfectly how, when I woke up, I thought "what a strangely detailed dream..."

And I decided to remember it.

I don't remember how old I was in that dream, but I must have been about twelve.

My mom took me to a ball at someone's estate located on a hill... But we weren't invited. So, when we approached the high wrought-iron fence, we had to creep as unobtrusively as possible through the hole formed between the fence and the crumbled earth.

We walked through the garden, then, because I was younger and smaller, my mother asked me to climb through a narrow channel between two slabs to open the door for her. It was cramped, and when I had to somehow roll over on my back to get out, I was ready to panic and just come back, but I managed.

A few minutes later, when we were both inside, Mom left somewhere. I didn't know what to do: I was in a strange place, I didn't want to be here, at any moment anyone could suspect that I shouldn't be here, and I could be kicked out of the estate, if not worse...

So I decided to do the only thing that came to mind - hide nearby.

To the left of the main staircase, I saw an almost unlit corridor. There was no one there. I chose the first door and went in without looking inside...

When I turned around, I saw a small room and a girl of about eight or so with light golden curly hair tied in a high tight ponytail. She was preening herself in front of the mirror, sitting, it seems, in a peach-pink dress. It must have been some kind of dressing room, at least that's what I thought.

When she saw me in the mirror, she turned to me. I don't remember what she said exactly, but as far as I understand, she confused me with one of the new servants, and then ordered me to help her with makeup.

In order not to stand out, I decided to try it, even though I didn't know how to do it. I applied powder, lipstick, a little blush and eye shadow with eyeliner... I didn't know what I was doing, but I relied on the old advice, "do as you feel." That's what I did.

Even in her opinion, it turned out well, but...

When I first started, I thought she was one of "these," those spoiled rich girls with high self-esteem. But in the middle, she looked me over and suddenly asked me about life or something.

I stopped and looked at her with suppressed fear. She just narrowed her dark amber eyes slyly and smiled. I got caught.

I didn't know what to do... And I answered honestly.

The rest of the time, while I was finishing her makeup, she asked me about life outside the walls of the estate, about music, my hobbies. And even when I was done, she kept asking and I kept answering her.

And then, someone called her from behind the door, and she left. I didn't stay long either, and when I left the room, I saw my mother. She noticed me and signaled that it was time to leave.

I don't remember how we left, except that we crawled through the same gap we entered through.

And I woke up.

I wouldn't have remembered this dream for a very long time if I hadn't seen its continuation a couple of days ago.

It all started almost the same way: a gap between the fence and the crumbled earth, only now there was another small net. Apparently, the hill gradually crumbled. The same manor and the manhole to the door.

Just like the first time, mom went somewhere, I think to the bathroom, but I wasn't afraid.

I walked resolutely towards the door, although I was only just remembering my first visit.

I saw my reflection in the big mirror among the crowd of guests. I got older. I looked to be about twenty.

When I reached the familiar door, I opened it without thinking twice.

That girl... No, the lady with the charming baby face was already sitting in front of the mirror, trying to do her makeup, but... She wasn't alone in the room.

On the sofa in the corner lay another girl with jet-black eyes and hair in a purple dress, she seemed to be reading something. When she saw me, she just rolled her eyes and went back to reading. I was at a loss, but I also decided not to pay attention.

At this time, a girl with golden hair suddenly got up from her place in front of the mirror and came up to me, asking about my education.

This question confused me: I didn't know what kind of education I had in this dream. Or maybe I'm working? For some reason, without hesitation, I answered about my real specialty.

She narrowed her eyes slyly, and I realized she was testing me! And I think I gave the right answer.

I winked at her, she winked at me, and she returns to her place in front of the mirror, asking me to work on my hair today, and I, straightening up, approach from behind, starting to untangle her too tight ponytail.

A new round of "questions and answers" about life outside the walls of the estate began, which I and she were undoubtedly happy about.

While I was brushing her golden hair, another girl was called from behind the door, and she left with a heavy sigh.

Instantly, the first one turned around on a wedge and wrapped me in a tight hug.

It's only now that I realized that if I used to be a head taller than her, now I'm almost one and a half times!

- I missed you so much! - She said.

- You recognized me after all. - I repeated my thoughts.

- Of course!

And as before, the two of us sat in front of the mirror while I did her makeup, and she asked me questions...

Until she asked how I was doing. It was a simple question, but, didn't know why, I suddenly hugged her and burst into tears on her shoulder, telling her how tired I was lately... And she just hugged me and stroked my back, trying to calm me down and repeating "everything is fine".

But in fact, what stopped me was the thought that I, a guy under two meters tall, was crying into a little girl's shoulder...

The "Knight" is crying on the shoulder of the "Princess"...

What a shame.

When I calmed down, I heard my mother's voice from behind the door. She seemed to be walking through all the corridors, hoping to find me. I was about to say goodbye to the "little princess" when she pulled me into her arms again. I couldn't find anything better to do than to respond to them.

- Goodbye. – she said with sadness in her voice.

- More like "see you next time". - I whispered, leaning down and kissing her on the top of her head.

I came out from behind the door, and mom immediately turned around and saw me.

Together we walked back to that gap in the fence through the garden. This time, the estate was patrolled by huge cats. Mom said she'd like to take one with us, but they're sentries, so we can't.

As I passed two of them, I nodded at them. But they didn't seem to pay attention, only their ears twitched in the opposite direction, after which the cats rushed in the direction of the source of the noise.

While I was already holding the fencing net and waiting for my mother to crawl through, I heard someone’s voice. It looked like one of the cats had caught the thief and was now lecturing him... I thought it was strange, because we were also unwanted guests, but they didn't react to us.

When mom crawled through, I turned around one last time and saw that "Princess" in the window of the estate.

I didn't know her name. I didn't know how to react to the fact that she saw us, but I decided to trust my gut and just bowed slightly. In response, I saw her curtsy, also saying goodbye to me.

After that, I turned around and followed my mother, probably, home.

That's when I woke up.

I hope that in another ten years we will meet again.

Someone might think that I'm dead or just lazy, but nope!

Even though I'm now trying to get back into the work rhythm after my vacation, I also decided to meet my "magnum opus" again... and break its back!)

So now I'm preparing more detailed art (based on "TPoH") than usual, while trying to move away from traditional art a little towards digital... I hope I can handle it.

In the meantime, here are the sketches I made today in painting classes (above are versions of one of the works for the exhibition).

P.S. Yeah, I really like Faputa.~

"A villain can't have a happy ending."

But "the villain is the hero whose story hasn't been told."

So what happens when the author tells the story of the villain?

He stops being a villain and becomes just another character.

So now he has the opportunity to get his happy ending...

"A Villain Can't Have A Happy Ending."
