It breaks my heart and genuinely infuriates me to see people who identify as anti censorship and pro ship (I really think we should move away from this label this fight was never just about shipping) share anti smut and anti porn talking points.

No porn addiction doesn't exist.

No if you search for "smut" on ao3 it doesn't mean you're an addict.

No top/bottom tags and search of fics using those tags are not indication of porn addiction.

I want people to sit for one second and think who are they helping by pushing for recognition of porn addiction. Quickly tell me who is going to be institutionalized first under that diagnosis.

I love how different forms of art are all obsessed with each other. A book tries to capture the feeling of music, a painting tries to depict a scene in a book, a song tries to paint a picture. And it's always insufficient. No single form of art can encapsulate another form of art and capture the essence of it – but it tries, and its attempts are impossibly compelling. All the forms of art are in love with each other and spend so much time trying to express what makes the other kinds of art so lovely.

tumblr is such a different animal than other social media platforms for so many reasons obviously but one thing i really find funny about it is how on other sites if i see something that doesn't interest me i don't follow or don't like the post. but on here if someone i follow starts posting exclusively about something really niche that i have no interest in my reaction is never to unfollow. its just part of the natural environment. like oh mutual is now really into pro wrestling? ok i guess ill be seeing these guys around now
