๐ง Meditate and stretch every day, when you wake up or before going to bed, to recenter yourself and look inwards.ย
๐ Keep a journal, grimoire or book of shadows and write as often as possible, to remember your thoughts and log your progress.ย
โจ Find something to be grateful for every day, whether itโs a big event or simply watching a bird landing on a tree outside of your window.ย
โ
๐ Make a past/present/future Tarot spread on Sundays to reflect on the week that has passed, your current feelings and the week ahead.ย
๐ฒ Spend time around nature or observing the sky, at least once a week, to stay connected to the Earth and the Moon.ย
๐ Practice Kitchen Magic by making at least one special meal per week, where you pour positive energies and magical intentions. I try to learn a completely new recipe once a week to keep it fun and interesting.
โ
๐ Make a list of your goals on the first of each month, and keep it close to your desk to stay on track every day.ย
๐ Follow the moon phases to connect to the Moonโs magic and power. Work hard, start projects and be productive when the Moon is waxing ; rest, recover and reflect when the Moon is waning.ย
๐ Learn something new about witchcraft, spirituality, or a completely different topic that interests you. Staying curious, even when life gets busy and complicated, is what makes it worth living.ย
โ
๐งน Fully cleanse your home after each witches sabbatsย to get a fresh start and throw out old energies.ย
๐ฏ๏ธ Switch up and cleanย your altar at the end of each season, to keep it alive and filled with magical power. Decorate according to the coming season and sabbat.ย
๐ฑ Adapt your behavior to the rhythm of nature: spring and summer are high-energy, starting big projects and spending time outside, while fall and winter are about rest, reflection and spending time indoors.ย

today weโre gonna be discussing veiling. veiling is the act of covering your hair/head either partially or fully. this could be anything from wearing a bandana to wearing a full coverage headscarf.
there are many reasons why a pagan or witch may participate in veiling, here are a few:
as a reminder of a connection with a deity (usually deities such as hestia but it can be any deity)
as an offering or devotional act to a deity
as a reminder of what is above us
to cover or protect the crown chakra
to help with grounding
for shielding (this is often used by empaths)
to focus power or focus the mind
to signify adulthood/womanhood (!! this does not mean that men or nonbinary people canโt veil!! iโm nonbinary and i veil a lot)
as a practise of modesty
because it brings comfort to a person
in old traditions, a witches hair is said to be a measure of their power so people cover their hair in order to protect it
often people veil during rituals as it helps them get in the right mindset
i hope you guys found this helpful!! if you know of any other reasons to veil let me know but these are probably the most common ones used.

Witchcraft - Where do I start?
I wrote this for a server but I felt that this should also be on here(: Beginning your practice can be overwhelming, especially with the vast amount of information available. I recommend starting off with:
Finding out what interests you is the best place to start. What reaches out to you? Do you connect with the elements? The cosmos? Do you have an affinity for any particular thing? Explore the topics you feel drawn to, do thorough research, and practice. Develop your own personal set of beliefs and practices.
Learn to recognize magickal events and signs from mundane phenomena. (I'll reblog with a separate research and discernment post).
Read! Read blogs, articles, and anything else you can get your hands on. Become knowledgeable in practical topics as well as theories behind the many aspects of witchcraftโknowing how things work in the physical realm will help you understand and better apply things in the metaphysical realm.
The Essentials
History & Culture
Think about the things you want to include in your craft, and learn about its history and the cultural context behind it. Asking questions like, โIs it open to me? How did the people before me practice?โ shows respect for its origins and to the people who practiced before you.
Learn to become socially aware. Learn about why using certain terms (such as smudging, spirit animal, totem, g*psy, etc.) is harmful and something you should never do. Learn about cultural appropriation.
Family History
Finding out about your family history can be difficult for some. If you are able, ask your family members what regions they come from. Ask them about family beliefs and practices.
If you are unable to trace your family lineage, knowing what region your family comes from and researching the beliefs and practices of that region is a good place to start.
Safety
Physical safety: fire safety, and ingredient safety (toxic substances, toxic mixtures and combinations, edible and inedible plants, etc.)
Spiritual safety: protection, cleansing, warding, psychic protection, etc.

Correspondences: Learn the correspondences for herbs, ingredients, colours, numbers, and anything else you plan to use in your craft.
(guide will be reblogged!)
Read critically: remember to always look for hidden intentions in resources. Ask yourself:
Is the content informational?
What does the author/organisation stand for?
Is this site/author trying to sell me something?
Respect that other practitioners have their own beliefs and own ways of doing things.
Itโs okay to make mistakes! Mistakes are valuable learning opportunities.
โYouโre so quiet, whatโs wrong?โ Iโm creating my own fantasy world to escape from reality so shut up.
Baby witches, stop stressing yourselves out over grimoires. I've been a witch for 10 years and I don't even have a physical grimoire. My Pinterest boards and Tumblr pages are about as close to some sort of a grimoire as I've ever gotten. You don't need to have a grimoire to be a witch!
