Last of the Time Lords // The Power of the Doctor
You and the Doctor are a well-matched pair of pests.
Hellers go outside they say. And then the grass is green and the sky is blue đđđđ
i just think theyre neat
So like Katy Manning auditioned with contacts and didn't tell anyone how blind she was
But then they made her take them out, presumably because old hard contacts reflected studio lights
and I think, although I'm not 100% sure, that Katy's what really established the trope of the Doctor grabbing a companion's hand to run
and even the Master (gentleman that he was) led Jo by the arm after poor Katy supposedly ran into a tree and knocked herself out
anyway I like to headcanon that Jo was as blind as Katy, keeping her disability a secret so she wouldn't be tossed out of UNIT, but the Doctor just worked with it. He's used to his human friends having various physical limitations, so what's one more or less? He provides a steadying hand when he can, and they manage just fine.
It's part of what the Master finds baffling, although after Jo threw off his mind control he began to understand what the Doctor saw in these creatures despite their obvious deficiencies.
Like I wonder if the Master sometimes finds out about some of the Doctorâs more questionable/controversial decisions? Like theyâll be digging through stuff in the Doctorâs TARDIS and find out they just keep the Carrionites screaming for all eternity basically in a globe. Theyâd just be like: âOh, Doctor! Now that is fascinating! Thatâs just plain cruelâŚ. I gotta admit, I almost didnât expect this from you!â *Vigorously shakes the object like itâs a damn snow globe* đ
Rose Tyler was so iconicâŚno job. no father. hopping planets wearing approximately 10 lbs of waterproof drugstore mascara. a man at home who knew full well she was getting her back blown out by debate team captain space alien David Tennant on the regular and would still hang out with her every time she deigned to grace him with her presence. She killed the Devil? what a great character

The man says that love exists without sacrifices but he is wrong. He who lives without sacrifices for someone else doesnât deserve to be with a crane.
