young hong’er being enamored with young idol xie lian who is loved by the world until he gets into a career ending scandal and disappears off the face of the planet. it isn’t long before ppl forget and move on. but hong’er is desperate to find him and is inspired to become an idol himself, hoping he’ll be able to reach his beloved somewhere

after losing his career, xl wants nothing to with the idol business anymore. he was exhausted and overworked and now the general public felt betrayed by him. but in order to keep making a living and with his experience, he becomes an anonymous trainee instructor, primarily in charge of trainee lang qianqiu. as years pass, he finds hope in new idols, and returns publicly as a trainee manager, though he’s still looked down on by most he’s in charge of. he learns about the new top idol, hua cheng, and doesn’t have a clue that most of hua cheng’s singles are about him

Hua Cheng has seriously injured his eyes and had to have emergency surgery (he will lose his right eye). Shi Qingxuan and He Xuan go to see him while Xie Lian delays because he wanted to get him flowers. Shi Qingxuan and He Xuan are particularly fed up with seeing Hua Cheng and Xie Lian flirt without ever getting anywhere because they both have self-esteem problems, so Shi Qingxuan takes advantage of this moment to question Hua Cheng, knowing full well that Xie Lian is coming.

(Featuring: a panicked Xie Lian when he gets the call that Hua Cheng has been injured, Hua Cheng not complaining too much about the situation because Xie Lian is taking loving care of him, and He Xuan and Shi Qingxuan finally being able to go out on a date without being interrupted by a text or phone call from two idiots who have to give them a word-for-word account of what happened and "but do you think he likes me?")

Some of the prompt usage may seem abstract, but I tried 😅 This is Office AU canon adjacent, meaning it’s based off of my AU but isn’t necessarily something that happens.
