The sun was peering through the windows, illuminating the kitchen as you sipped the hot coffee from your large mug; the heat from the drink warming up your cold hands. The apartment was quite, nothing but the soft sound of the coffee pot brewing the dark liquid could be heard.
That was until gentle footsteps padded down the hall, coming towards you. A smile tugged on your lips as you tilted your head to glance at who was coming. Of course you knew who it was already, he was in fact the only other person in your small home, but still you didnât want to miss sleepy expressions that stretched across his features.
âMorning Ethan.â You hummed, watching the smile grow on his face.Â
âMorning⊠how long have you been awake?â He questioned, walking closer to you. Shrugging your shoulders, you leaned into his body, feeling his arms snake around your waist as his head rests on top of ours.
âOnly an hour.â Ethan let out a small hum, his eyes closing sleepily. âWhat are we doinâ today bub?â
âNothing yet⊠just wanna cuddleâŠâ Ethan mumbled, now wrapping both his arms around you. A giggle left your lips as you lazily hugged him back, swaying slightly. His lips softly grazed against the skin of your forehead, pressing soft kisses there; moving to the top of your head. âLove you.â
âLove you too.â
Thereâs a reason why introverts arenât usually particularly fond of partiesâtoo much stimulation and small talk, but not enough authenticity and quiet. And yet, like most things in life, sometimes parties are inevitable. So, why do we do it? Why do we spend long Friday nights out feeling lonelier than when weâre alone? Because despite hating the peer pressure we face making bad decisions, we hate not participating even more. We hate not knowing. But there are ways to make good decisions and enjoy parties, rather than seeing them as mere social obligations. Psych2Go shares with you 6 ways to survive parties as an introvert:
1. Know when itâs worth it to go out.
Itâs okay to be selective about which parties to attend. In fact, itâs smart to choose what works best for you. You donât have to go to every event youâre invited to. Itâs similar to dating. If we spent all our time trying to date everyone, it would lose meaning. Weâre not compatible with every person that we meet, and the same applies to parties. Itâs okay to skip out on weddings, dinners, and social gatherings to people you barely knowâŠ
