reblog drrr comic shizaya a cheap imitation shigaeru this first shizuo panel is veery cute with the loose cigarette hold i love his attitude to izaya's shit <3 oh wow izaya with his hair brushed back is certainly a look such an evil looking laugh he's got i like the way his hood looks fanned out beneath his head here shizuo gnawing back down on his cigarette there shdsgh the long shot singling out “you'll die and that's the truth” adds an interesting weight to the sound of that line like it's echoing or something with its impact on the topic of death: a closeup on shizuo's throat and collar i really like the nonchalant look of the izaya in this next panel just has that resigned vibe that's kinda rare on him i like shizuo's cigarette snapping for impact uhh since i've started rereading this fic with some friends i've kinda thought about these lines a bit “it doesn't matter if the whole world despises me or if my body breaks” it's a little more obvious in the fic with “if my body broke then I could heal but I ruined myself” sounds sooorta like shizuo doesn't it? “i broke my own principles and lost the right to love all humans” kiinda reflects the way shizuo feels about loving izaya later on anyways his bleeding hand up to the sunlight looks awesome but also was it meant to also look a bit like a hand coming out of the ground like rebirth izaya running in panic !! my head has been looping “better run better run better run” to the image of izaya running in the rain ch31 i'm !! the transition between izaya tripping over the root and falling in the one panel is neat izaya's haaaands they look so grrrrr the smoke trailing from the crushed cigarette on the ground is really nice framing on that panel!! also lol look how isolated he looks there <3 small and hunched the layout around the gang fight with shizuo the center of aaaall the attention and izaya's panels kinda swept to the side ooough the way that izaya's own fucking sisters are in these “actually miss you” panels and shinra's eyes are obscured by the dialogue

durarara yay for me shizaya izaya orihara shizuo heiwajima foreboding i made a thing a cheap imitation chapter 47 actually sat down to colour correct these images a bit and they look soooo much better also it wasn't intentional but the background colours sort of transitioning into each other with the scroll format kinda cool anywayyys working with physical media is such a pain in particular let it be known that i got this camera like the weekend of making this i didn't know how to use it at all so the camera settings were far from ideal colour correcting makes me feel better about them though :) oh yeah btw big inspo from @lunchbagmonster for this one their demoncism promo poster literally the whole pitch for this one in my mind was i wanna do a fun craft jars thing for one of my marketings i can make it work with this one and i think i did i like the interpretation in have in my mind for it

durarara WHAT WILL HE DO can you tell? izaya orihara i made a thing Here he comes! 🎵 this was originally a squid game redraw of course not there is not a game of squid to be perceived but you’re pretty cool if you can figure out where it was directly referenced from sorry if people are sick and tired of hearing about that show again but uhhh there might be more where that came from i kind of gave up on the initial idea here when i realised i wouldn’t be able to draw the shizuo so now it’s just izaya but you can assume he’s looking at shizuo that was the intention he's also walking backwards haha i’ve got mixed feelings about this one whenever i go on about izaya's coat jacket whatever in the reblog tags i really do mean it spent an unreasonable amount of time trying to get the fluff to look a way i like it then 10x multiplied trying to figure out the shading on and around the poofy sleeve and i'm still not totally satisfied with it i simply cannot compute zoom in on the face though that part is nice i really like how i drew him there this is like my third proper attempt at both shading and colours feels like there's too much going on but not enough at the same time i just kind of experimented with a ton of random colours and techniques that i thought looked neat in other people's art i couldn't really commit to anything i threw on it though but we all have to start somewhere right i've worked on it enough it's time to release him into the wild that's enough serious attempts at colours for a while i think
