I am currently making a fanfiction where a random person(identity will be revealed later) is reincarnated into Dazai Osamu's body on the night he meets Mori. They're unhappy at first until they realize they can make their favorite ship canon(Dazai x Chuuya). And so the story follows them trying to make that happen. Including finding out why they were brought there, who keeps sending them texts from their old phone that reincarnated with them, and what is trying to kill them.
Click the link if you're interested. I update once a month.
Note: This is not every time they insult/make fun of each other. For example Dazai tends to say things like he'll put a curse on Chuuya to remain short whilst he grows tall, more than name calling. However this list is only name calling.
Dazai about Chuuya:
Kid
Pip-squeak (Uses more than once)
Little fairy
A child
Schoolboy (Uses more than once)
Little man
Filthy dog
Chuuya - He calls Chuuya by his name for the first time in the arcade, Chuuya then tells him not to use his name. After this Dazai repeatedly says his name over using nicknames.
Chuuya about Dazai:
Kid
Surprisingly gutsy kid
Little shit
Little punk
Dumbass
Lil twig
Mummy boy (Uses more than once)
Little wimp
Bandages
Idiot
Twisted freak
Little suicide-obsessed- (he's cut off before he finishes this one)
Sly dirtbag
Slimeball (Uses more than once)
Crafty son of a bitch
Sly bastard
Demon
Weasel
Dazai - He calls Dazai by his name for the first time during their fight with Rimbaud when they agree to work together to defeat him. However, he still mixes in name calling along with using Dazai's name.
BONUS - Names Chuuya uses for other people:
Old man - Hirotsu
Old fart - Hirotsu and the Old Boss
Doc - Mori
Bastard - Mori
Piece of shit - Mori
Damn octopus - Mori
Gramps - Random GSS member
Dumbass - Shirase
Ma'am (Ane-san) - Kouyou. (She also calls Chuuya 'Young man' just before this. They both disapprove of being called these.)
Boss - Mori
Randou - Rimbaud (as far as I could see Chuuya mostly used his name, though I may have missed a nickname)
A thing I noticed with Dazai is that he generally calls people by their names. He calls Hirotsu, Mori and Kouyou all by name. With Mori it sometimes feels like that's the insult, he knows he can get away with disrespecting him this way, so he doesn't call Mori his Boss. Similarly he only starts calling Chuuya by name after he's told not to. He also prefers coming up with imaginative insults/scenarios rather than name calling, though he's not above it, so his list is a lot shorter than Chuuya's.
Chuuya however, uses nicknames for practically everyone, they just get more polite the more he respects them. Mori goes from 'Bastard' and 'Octopus' to 'Boss', once he gains Chuuya's respect. Rimbaud felt like the exception because Chuuya kept calling him Randou during their fight.
I also think it's interesting that Chuuya calls most adults something to do with being old/older. I don't know whether it was intentional or not, but to me, this emphasizes how Chuuya is used to being solely around other children. Even Kouyou who is only nineteen, is labeled as older to Chuuya, probably because there were no Sheep her age. In both the anime and the manga they are all depicted as younger teens around the same age as Chuuya.
Ane-san is also a mafia title, so it could just be that, but I do think Chuuya is genuinely not used to being around adults and that not meaning danger.

my fav thing about skk is it can cater to whatever your heart desires but both sides of the coin actually work in canon…
you want angsty toxic yaoi? dazai watched chuuya lose everyone he loved and then left him too, without a word. vanished for 2 years and showed up as a traitor to the PM, chuuya’s “family”.
you want sweet soulmate fluff? the author literally said they’re one soul in two bodies. there’s official art of them going on a cute date. dazai said he chose to LIVE for chuuya.
you can either make them kiss like barbies or strangle each other with coat hangers and both work!
Incredible
The neurodivergent urge to do this
Wow this reminds me of Chuuya
"For once in your life, I’d actually like you to get mad. To say that no, it’s not okay. That you were hurt, and that you want retribution. To prove to me that you are human, and that you feel pain too. Because, right now... you are simply much too perfect."
...I might have to rewrite my fanfiction from the ground up
Resource for new Bungo Stray Dogs fans so you don't go insane like I did making this lol. Could also be for longtime fans, idk, I'm not new at this point. I just have only watched the anime and read like one novel
Anyways, here's all the story arcs (in narrative chronological order) and which media forms they're in and when those media forms came out -- for the books: not always the official publishing date because sometimes they come out special first before proper printing. My info is up to date as of April 15, 2025 but admittedly mostly taken from the wiki and organized into this!
Now you never have to ask "which came first the manga or the novel?" again lol. Or in the one weird case, the anime movie?
Key:
Blank/White = doesn't have the thing
Green = has the thing
Blue = has the thing and the thing was first
Red = specifically for Azure Apostle because they messed it up that bad with where they put it in the anime
Note: Yep, DEAD APPLE is weird because the movie and the book kind of happened at the same time *insert shrugging noises here idk*
Lmk if the picture is illegible!
Complete crackhead theory but you know how the moon in bsd looks absolutely massive, which suggests that the moon in bsd verse is actually much closer to earth than in our own world. There's a theory that the earth's magnetic field is influenced and maintained by tidal effects from the moon, so a closer moon would arguably have an even greater effect on earth's magnetic field, making it much stronger. There's also the theory that the Cambrian explosion - when life evolved from single-celled water-dwelling organisms to more complex multicellular life - may have been enabled by the solidification of the earth's iron core, which would have led to a much stronger magnetic field. The stronger magnetic field would thus have reduced the amount of ionizing radiation at the surface, allowing life to evolve significantly. Due to conservation of angular momentum, a shorter earth-moon distance would also increase the earth's rotation period, resulting in shorter days, which would in turn have led to biological effects such as an altered circadian rhythm, thereby influencing evolution itself. In this essay, i will present the hypothesis of how the existence of abilities in bsd may originate from the increased magnetic field strength and faster rotational speed of the earth as a result of the moon being located at a significantly short distance from the earth
