some Fatui headcanons before we resume the quotes (some funny, some sad, some just random idk) these are all over the place but oh well Pierro: Really liked talking to Signora about magic. They both use very different kinds, but they still have similar understandings, and no one else really wants to hear him ramble

Capitano: Oblivious to romantic relationships. Thinks everyone is just really good friends.

Dottore: Got so seasick on the way to inazuma and back, that he genuinely considered never visiting again. Spent like 5 months trying to research medication against motion sickness and ended up poisoning himself. Intentionally makes mathematical mistakes in his budget reports, just to annoy Pantalone.

Columbina: can't swim.

Arlecchino: Says "I don't have a favourite child", but definitely has a favourite child. Tried making Dad jokes once and failed miserably, mostly because she didn't understand the joke herself. Sometimes forgets that most the Harbingers are immortal, so she'll have situations where she mentions researching some long dead person, only for one of the others to go "oh i knew that dude personally". Somewhat salty that she isn't hundreds of years old.

Crucabena: Her birthday is on christmas. She doesn't know what christmas is, so it doesn't matter, but she just gives off the vibe of being born in winter and I think it'd be funny. Wrote letters trying to get Neuvilette to implement the death penalty monthly, but never received a reply. Has, one more than one occasion, used Hydro not to fight, but to drown people, because she liked watching them struggle.

Clervie: her and Peruere once illegally operated an Aquabus while on a mission. Peruere may have used it to commit vehicular manslaughter. Also she made mother's day presents every year, despite them being thrown away. Tried to teach herself elemental magic, but couldn't figure it out without a teacher. Once overheard Crucabena praying to the Cryo Archon. briefly had hope that she changed for the better, only to hear "Thank you your Majesty for giving me the ability to give people hypothermia".

Lyney: Genuinely thought Arlecchino was a guy for like 3 months after being adopted. Also sometimes forgets that Freminet isn't his biological brother.

Lynette: More cat-like than Lyney. Has caught birds and eaten them raw before, but doesn't do it anymore, even though Arlecchino approves.

Freminet: More powerful than Lyney and Lynette, even if it doesn't seem like it. Doesn't have all that much control over his cryo vision yet, so he mostly uses it as a support for his claymore, instead of the other way around.

Pulcinella: Has a lot of fun calling everyone a child, even if he isn't older than them. Dottore? Unruly teenager. Scaramouche or Sandrone? Practically a toddler. Arlecchino and Childe? Babies. Only ones he doesn't do this to is Columbina and Pierro. Columbina because he's scared, Pierro because of respect.

Scaramouche: One of the only people who actually understands how Ei's Realm of Euthmiya works. Has tried to explain it to several people, including Pierro and Dottore, but get's frustrated every time because they don't understand it exactly. So overcharged with electro energy, that touching him may give you a small shockl (yes, even after Sumeru). Is actually not completely sure how his body actually works, and neither is Nahida. Dottore has a pretty level of knowlegde (although he still gets a lot of surprises), but the only one who actually understands his body completely is Ei.

Sandrone: Tried to become active in Fontainian politics at some point. Promptly fell asleep in the courtroom because she spent several all-nighters trying to complete a project of hers. Complicated feelings about Scaramouche, ranging from "I want to dissect him" to "no one understands this guy more than me, ignore the fact that we talk like once every 5 years"

Signora: Even with the cryo delusion, her body temperature runs really, really hot. Is basically a walking heater- Columbina likes using her as a portable source of warmth. Also, her blood being liquid fire is not an exaggeration- got wounded in the palace one time, only to burn down half a library.

Pantalone: Once suggested suing Raiden Ei for child support. It did not work.

Childe: Completely unaware that Arlecchino isn't the first Knave. Thinks she's immortal too. Also only figured out that Dottore has clones after about a year of being a Harbinger.

But I know for a FACT that if I ever wound up in Linkon, not as the MC, but as my own self, dating then would be impossible and that makes me SOBBB

LIke, like take Caleb for example. If in some circumstance the two of us end up as friends or he even shows romantic interest in me and does his whole yandere thing, my dumbass would definitely believe him, but I would also say "Ok down boy 😒 or I'll call you an insult in a language you wouldn't understand like don't TEST me boy 🫵" My black ass won't take shit from him ✋

With Zayne, I imagine myself to be somewhat calmer, trying to match his pace, but as much as I actually enjoy his dry humor, I know for a fact I would look at him like this "😐. . . .Zayne my love never joke in public again."

Rafayel . . . . little fish boy. . . . He and I would banter a lot, but the issue is how far can I take it? How far will he take it? I would also call him fish boy to his face actually here are all the nicknames I would give him

He suddenly paused, more memories hitting his head. 'Sometimes, you need the darkness to see the light.' rang in his head as a picture of a card for an Awakened Pure Vanilla Cookie, literally identical to the cookie he had ran away from, flashed in his eyes, and a scream of pure rage escaped his mouth. "WITCH DAMM IT!"

So, everything he had experienced, everything he had faced, all of his ideas, all of his plans, capturing Pure Vanilla and watching as he turned into Truthless Recluse . . . It . . . Was. . . . All . . . . SCRIPTED OUT!????

Shadow Milk slowly blinked before a smile grew on his face. "I should write that down somewhere."

Back to his original thought, what could he do? Everything had played out the same way it did in game, so could he even do anything?

Shadow Milk hummed in thought and pushed himself to float in the air, then moved his body upside down as he closed his eyes. "Decisions decisions.....Ah! I got it!"

It was a beautiful plan! A marvelous plan!

With a wide grin on his face, Shadow Milk flipped his body right side up and allowed his feet to touch the ground, walking towards one of the few mirrors that didn't break. "Hmmm," he hummed, cupping his cheeks. "If I make my hair a little bit shorter....ah! This dress looks dashing on me? Oohh what about this eye shadow!"

A few minutes later, the female cookie twisted and turned as she appraised herself. "Beautiful! Well, off course I'm beautiful I'm well, me!" She proclaimed, placing her hands on her hips. "Silly Vanilly, did you really think I'll let you go? Never."

You stare at Caleb's back as he continues to calmly make more pancakes for the both of you and then you place your fork down, a small smile on your face. "Babe."

"Yeah, spitfire?"

"Give me back my phone."

"No can do."

"I will shove you into traffic."

Caleb turns his head to shoot an amused smile at you. "Spitfire is that the only threat you know? What about shooting me? Or what about stabbing me in my sleep? You know, black widow style."

Your fork is thrown at his head but is easily stopped with his Evol. "Well, that wasn't very nice was it?"

"I willingly allow you to kidnap me." you hiss, glaring at his back as Caleb turns his attention back to the pan. "I'm even fine with staying here for a while. But. You. Took. My. Phone." You raise your hand in frustration. "I'm not even hiding anything that can be 'dangerous', so what's the big deal!?

Look, you were fine with the whole 'yandere' thing going on with Caleb because, well, he wasn't even that bad!But him taking your phone?? With all your games??

Abso-lute-ly not!

"Is it truly a kidnapping if you give consent?" Caleb mused, picking up your plate to add more pancakes. "Look spitfire, do you know anything about. . . . what happened to MC? And her heart condition?"

You pause, and furrow your brows. Well, seeing that you were once MC, you knew practically everything about her. But you couldn't just say that could you? So you raise a brow at him and allow familiar words to flow out of your mouth. "No not really. She didn't tell me anything, even when I asked "

Caleb sighs and presses a kiss on your forehead. "Then I can't really say much, if she even truly understands what really happened herself." He places his hands on the counter behind you, caging you in. "A few people are keeping an eye on MC, dangerous people. And since you're her sister, they have started to keep an eye on you as well."

You furrow your brow. "What the fuck does that mean-" you pause, blinking as a memory flashed through your mind. Someone watching MC? Her hidden past? Her heart condition?

Was Caleb talking about Ever?!

Oh gosh darn it. It all made sense now. You let out a loud groan and lean your head forward on his chest. "Explain."

You feel Caleb hum and he places a kiss on your forehead again. "I can't say much, mainly because the more you know, the more the risk of these people finding you rises. Still -" he cups your face, raising your head so you could meet his gaze. "- everything I'm doing, it's all to protect you spitfire. [Name], I know with me faking my death, you might not trust me, but for this one thing, will you place your trust in me once again?"

Oh this silly boy. This silly silly boy. You let out a sigh and lean against his palm, closing your eyes. It wasn't like you didn't understand the situation. Ever was a group that was everywhere, every Love Interest was connected in some way, even if it was minimum. From Zayne and Xander Sciences, the N109 Zone turning into a wasteland because of them as Sylus had hinted, Rafayel and The Nest, and Xaiver's collar.

Ever was everywhere.

Which was why you knew to take Caleb's words seriously. You had no interest in trying to discover their secrets, you didn't even have the power to fight them.

So did that mean all you could do was sit idly by? Unfortunately, yes. You weren't the MC, you were simply. . . . You.

And for the first time in a very long time, the fact that because you were a simple NPC hurt your heart.

You sighed again and hugged Caleb tightly, pressing your face against his chest. ". . . I'll trust you." You mumble. "I think I'm incapable of never not trusting you."

"Haha. I'm glad-"

"But." You hiss, raising your head to glare up at him. "I want a phone. I get it, stalkers are stalking my phone, but I want a phone damn it! How will I contact work!? And MC!?"

A smile blooms on Caleb's face, and he leans down to nuzzle his nose against your own. "Hmm. Don't worry, I already have a phone waiting for you, with all your games and work stuff saved."

"Oh! In that case, I want more pancakes."

Caleb laughs and presses a kiss against your lips, and the tension that has been hanging in the room finally broke. You watched as he moved back to the stove, pouring the batter into the heated pan.

So, life was about to be hectic for you. Your boyfriend essentially kidnapped and took your phone, Ever may or not be watching you, and since Caleb was a Colonel now, that meant KC would be in Skyhaven soon.

All those manhwa's you read in the past were right. Involving yourself with the main lead and one of the love interests would drag you into a mess.

Well, with a boyfriend like Caleb? Could you really regret it?

Imagine being Hitomi.

You love a strict but well off life with your parents, and rarely get as much freedom as your two best friends. Things are normal, you and your friend have a crush on the same boy, but you don't mention it so things don't feel awkward, but that's really the most notable thing that happens to you.

Until suddenly, you wake up in a factory surrounded by a bunch of strangers and told you were "sleepwalking".

Of course you think: "that's odd," but this probably supernatural experience has probably made you much more cognizant of how anything could happen, and you might as well confess your crush before something dangerous happens to you.

You muster all of you emotional maturity you can muster(You're a middle schooler) and have a serious talk with your friend about your crush, and even allow her to confess first cause you want to be fair.

Eventually, when your friend doesn't confess, you do, and he says yes! You're happy, but also a bit worried at how awkward things may be between you and your friend. But hey, it's just a boyfriend right? Surely you'll smooth things over when you see her tomorrow.

But she doesn't come to school.

Every day she's absent, you get more nervous. Did she run away from home? I'd she just sick? Why isn't my other friend who is much closer to her than me saying anything about it? Why is she so sad? Did something happen to her? Is it MY fault? But it couldn't be that bad right? It was just a crush. You handled everything with poise and grace and maturity, exactly as you were taught, so everything will be fine, right?

Then one day she turns up dead.

Obviously you start blaming yourself, cause of course you would. You start hating yourself, regretting even confessing in the first place. But now you're left with a boyfriend who you feel like you HAVE to be with no matter how unhappy you may be or neglectful he is of your feelings, cause you're best friend died for it, you know? If you break up, then she'd have died for nothing, right?

Idk, I just think Hitomi's situation is very sad in the show.
