ES POR ESTO QUE LA REPRESENTACIΓN ES IMPORTANTE
THIS IS WHY REPRESENTATION MATTERS
[trans]
Interviewer: Your speech and your mission have always been worthy representation and respect above all. Especially about equal opportunities for the "moreno" (brown) people, for racialised people, not only from Mexico but from all of Latin America, from all over the world. And now you're here. You're K'uk'ulkaan, you're Namor, you're a Funko (toy). You're all that.
Tenoch: Ah, huevo! (kinda like "oh, god" / "oh, yeah", happily)
Interviewer: So, what do you think it'll mean for representation in Latin America and Mexico, for all of us who are getting this important message?
Tenoch: The only thing I want is that the next time boys and girls look at themselves in the mirror they feel proud of that reflection. That they see there was never anything wrong with them but rather with the eyes that judged them. If that happens, I've made it.
Interviewer: Thank you so much.
(They hug. The interviewer's been rather emotional the whole time but now they start to really cry.)
Tenoch: It hurts, dude, doesn't it? But we're going to begin healing. (He gives the interviewer a kiss on the forehead)
White people saying that the TB are a better family that the OG Avengers ever was is really telling tbh. I just realized that they didn't really like the Avengers to begin with, they just pretended to like them. How can you compare Jhon "I'm a psycho that killed a inocent man in broad daylight" Walker to Steve? I starting to believe that US people really have the comprehension skills of a 6yo child. Get the fuck out of here with your shitty avengerzzz.
You know what I find hilarious? All those people complaining and badmouthing Sam, trying to calm the Red Hulk down with words. Just for the shitty avengers to defeat the void with a group hug. I mean the irony is delicious; just like the double standard as well: If Sam does it is stupid and shows how weak he is, but if a bunch of white "heroes" do it is noble and incredible
so I'd let bygones be bygones and this is gonna be the last post that I'll make about that movie.
So that been said, what really surprise me is that they really believe they could be the Avengers, that a bunch of killers and mercenaries could be equall to the Avengers. If the name of the group was Dark Avengers, that would be awesome. But the name be the New Avengers? nah the level of delulu is flabbergasting. As I said before block me if you want π.
The BNW cinematography was better than in Thunderbolts. I can be biased but fuck you, you can't change my mind.
cinematography? in my marvel movie?
I want to highlight the fact that this movie has more symbolism and atmosphere packed into it than any "successful" marvel movie (read: movie lead by white males) because of how well they used the colors, light and shadows, and how well the framed and positioned the characters. the fact that one of the major critiques against cabnw was that it was shallow and bland is absolutely baffling to me and no doubt is result of insane racism of white marvel fans.
that feminine urge to not be a woman, to not be a man, to not be human even and to not let anyone put a fucking label on what you are π
happy ace day everyone!!!!
If body positivity seems too difficult at the moment, aim for body neutrality.
β’ You may not like your face but your eyes, ears, nose and mouth allow you to sense the world
β’ You may not like your hands but they allow you to pet animals and help others and make art
β’ You may not like your legs but they allow you to walk and run and dance and jump
β’ You may not like your stomach but it keeps all your organs safe and protected
β’ You may not like your arms but they allow you to hug and defend others, to climb trees and point up at the stars
You donβt have to love your body right away, but practice acknowledging all the incredible things it allows you to do, irrespective of its size and shape.
reblog if you believe fanfics are as valid as books that were published and sold by authors who write as their main careers. I'm trying to prove a point
