Trying to figure out the way i enjoy to draw skykids the most. I like this more realistic approach, but i still have to work on it
Anyway, have eepy Alula
What do you think it used to be called, before industrialization, when Alef was just a boy with a dream of creating a brighter tomorrow? Before the pipes and turrets in the name of "safety" and "modernity."
At what point did the name shift? Was it generations after the war laid waste and left the area in ruin? Or were there hushed whispers in the far corners of the realms of how certain areas were becoming desolate wastelands, uninhabitable by any Creature of the Light, even as King Resh reigned?
As for the workers who built the turrets brick by brick, laid the pipes across the vast expanse of grassy knolls, and hand-painted the sun and diamond motifs on their historic buildings - do you think they questioned it at all? Were there quiet mutterings of doubt and disapproval of the King's orders, followed by the uneasy silence and warningful glances of friends, family, co-workers?
Were there activists? Of course there was the whole resistance, but we always frame it as the realms fighting one another - what about the people living within the realms of prosper and privilege? Were there none who noticed the ecological turmoil beginning to take hold around them? Surely there was infighting amongst the higher classes and elites as the effects of industrialization were becoming more and more apparent.
Who would have received word of these complaints? Would people be punished for speaking out? Or would the concerns be raised to the proper authorities? And who were those authorities? The Elders?
So many questions, so few answers. I desperately need Sky: The Two Embers to be out, like, now.
microdosing on catharsis by watching a fictional character or persona i relate to have an emotional breakdown until my chest starts to ache from the amount iβve repressed

I love the way you draw bodies sm! They're always so fluid and unique!! Do you have any tips?? (other than the super obvious look at a reference lol)
hi thank u!! rather than just looking at refs, i explained how i actually use them here in a big old post, and how i keep those poses fluid!
another tip tho, and a more recent thing iβve been doing, is that i use a ref just to decide a general idea for a pose and then pick my favorite lines either within the reference already or i make up my own
^^ for above, i very loosely used the reference at all. it just gave me an idea to start with for a pose and then i picked dramatic curves i really wanted to do and pushed the pose to show those lines.
a lot of my fluidity comes from caring more about those lines showing in the pose than the pose or anatomy actually making sense LOL
this is a more direct reference !! i liked the angle and the point of the knees, so i started there and then exaggerated what i wanted to draw more swoopy :3
additionally helps line confidence to use as few lines as possible.
it makes a lot of organic swishes and pretty lines if u try to keep each section of a limb or whatever to just a few strokes. 2-3 if ur really wanting to push it!
Hope yall have a wonderful Holidays!!!
Here's a sketch of my newest chubby son, I love him smπππππ
Guysss I'm literally so overwhelmed with my classes and homework rn (i kno i always say that, but THIS TIME IT'S LIKE FOR REAL REAL I'M EXHAUSTED), so I don't have either energy or time to draw. Everything I draw now just seems bland and pointless, I'm sorryπ
I kinda liked this silly design tho and it's the only thing that keeps my mental health from shattering tbh
Thank u thank u!! More horror is exactly what I'm going for with my redesigns!
And concerning your question:
No, they can't.
They're blind and rely on other senses
Tiny critters designs for my au!!
They're mostly similar to my Catnap design, but smaller (toddler sized)
- their eye sockets are empty and covered with skin
- instead of a zipper, there's a huge surgical scar on their bellies
- on the cheeks are scars from braces that keep the critters' faces smiling
- some children have gone so feral that they are more comfortable walking on all fours
- also usually critters wear collars with their respective pendants that are very difficult to take off, but these particular critters are from Safe Haven, so they don't have collars :)
Hiiiii
Sorry, I'm reposting my own works. Apparently, tumblr has deleted my previous account (hlo-pok-hopey), bc I can't access it or find it in search results. My posts don't seem to be in the tags eitherπ₯²
