Introducing... Cassie Jackson's stardew portrait! Like before, I used this for the base!
This one was a doozy! I couldn't find any of Cassie's main features on the portrait maker (her downturned eyes, wider nose, and longer 4b-ish hair), so I did it myself! I do appreciate there being some different hair textures available, since they made a great reference for the texture and shading!
While it was a challenge, I genuinely enjoyed doing this, partly because I love Cassie as a character, and partly because her design is so different than what I used to draw.
I used to not be good at drawing different features, I really wanted to change that and be more inclusive with my art. With Cassie, I wanted to push myself both with drawing different features and writing a different kind of character! (I don't have many transfem characters, and I need to fix that. Cassie here is mtf, and she hasn't had any hormones or surgeries. I want to be able to properly write the experiences of a transwoman).
So, ramble aside, I am incredibly proud of this portrait!
the. what.
Hey has tumblr heard about the Chase “Infinite Money glitch” debacle from tiktok yet because
a masterpiece, if i do say so myself
enjoi my fellow queers
cw: U.S. government transphobia
So I just read (through tears) the disgusting executive order "Defending Women from gender ideology extremism and restoring biological truth to the federal government". I'm asking for help if anyone wants to join me.
They've already removed every webpage from whitehouse.gov that had anything to do with gender equality, and I imagine will enforce the removal of the specific pages listed in the EO across other .gov sites and anything else they find.
For the last several years we were told that "anything you put on the web will be there forever" and we're learning if you have enough money and power that can be changed.
I'm starting to archive resources and documents on an external hard drive in an attempt to maintain records of resources for LGBTQIA+ individuals. I'm keeping it out of the cloud to ensure no one can cut me off from accessing it. I'm utilizing archive.org to save the items listed in the EO and resources across the web at the larger organizations that may be targeted directly.
We learned with the shutting down of TikTok that our information can be turned off and VPNs won't work (if the account was created in the US it got turned off so VPNs didn't get us around that). After personally being hit hard from a security breach at work in January of 2023, I've learned, the hard way, that having physical copies of everything is critical.
We're going to need to create a physical copies of things. We're going to need to go back to creating zines, creating leaflets, to handing a physical document to someone to spread information. If anyone wants to help me, we could create a discord or even a tumblr community since this app is kind of flying under the radar at the moment.
I support us using Jeanne Scheper's Five Key Principles: Towards a Critical Zine-Making Ethos in the journal article "Zine Pedagogies: Students as Critical Makers:"

They can erase legislative progress but they can't erase us.
i'm genuinely considering switching to linux
i'm still using windows 10 rn, and i don't think i can upgrade to 11 because i need to enable tpm 2.0. i don't even fucking know what that is lol
on a more serious note, i genuinely want to learn everything that i can about linux, and computers in general before i ditch windows 10 (whether it'll be for linux or windows 11, only time will tell)
I really don't want that goddamn spyware that windows 11 has, and ik you have to go thru powershell to disable it. i'm good enough with computer stuff for that yet.
my dad works in IT, and he could probably do all of the important stuff, buuuuuuuuuut i don't want him touching my pc because i've got stuff on here that would make my parents very disappointed in me (just nsfw drawings that i keep on here as a backup in case my ipad dies)
even if i somehow have to lose everything on this pc when i switch, it doesn't bother me too bad, since all that i have that's worth saving is some pictures i took with my canon, and didn't save anywhere else, and those can easily be saved to a thumb drive. I've got some shows n stuff that i need to save to an external device anyways lol
most of what i do is online, and can be accessed through various accounts. i have some indie games that i've downloaded, but those can probably be transferred to thumb drive as well, since they're not very big. as much as i love video games, i don't play very many on my pc.
anyways there's my long-ass ramble about pc stuff that i don't know jack shit about lmao
in light of Trump's inauguration speech declaring multiple national emergencies that require him to take god-knows-what executive actions immediately, I'd like to remember this chapter of "On Tyranny" by Timothy Snyder:
Chat i think I'm cooked
sentient calculus crabs im fucking dying
There was a paper in 2016 exploring how an ML model was differentiating between wolves and dogs with a really high accuracy, they found that for whatever reason the model seemed to *really* like looking at snow in images, as in thats what it pays attention to most.
Then it hit them. *oh.*
*all the images of wolves in our dataset has snow in the background*
*this little shit figured it was easier to just learn how to detect snow than to actually learn the difference between huskies and wolves. because snow = wolf*
Shit like this happens *so often*. People think trainning models is like this exact coding programmer hackerman thing when its more like, coralling a bunch of sentient crabs that can do calculus but like at the end of the day theyre still fucking crabs.
Messaging people for the first time is so hard. What am I supposed to say? Like, "You seem really odd and your blog intrigues me. Do you want to have philosophical conversations or perhaps talk about fictional characters?" What! Whatever. I will just follow you back and stare at your blog with my big beautiful brown eyes.
"How do you write such realistic dialogue-" I TALK TO MYSELF. I TALK TO MYSELF AND I PRETEND I AM THE ONE SAYING THE LINE. LIKE SANITY IS SLOWLY SLIPPING FROM BETWEEN MY FINGERS WITH EVERY MEASLY WORD THEY TYPE OUT. THAT IS HOW.
☆ he/they/it☆ 19 ☆ I ramble about the video game characters I simp for. That's it, not much else to it tbh. MDNI with suggestive content
