Like, there are whole advocacy efforts from sex workers who provide a variety of services, whether they are full service or not, that describe the language they use for their jobs. It's not the nineties anymore. You can, like...look up sex worker advocates who are making political changes and mirror their language. Here's a page now. They're not, like, theoretical people who need saving. They're real people who work a highly stigmatized job.

Okay so, i was at school in homeroom and i was wondering something- people outside of america, do you also have your own versions of the pledge of allegiance? This might be a really stupid question but I’ve honestly been staying super disconnected from everything outside of my room the past few years. In the case that you don’t know what the f/// im talking about, every day in the middle of the school day the pledge of allegiance is played over the loud speakers to the whole school, and depending on how lenient your teacher is you may be forced to stand facing whatever american flag is in the room, and either stay in absolute silence until its over, or recite the pledge along with whatever student body member was chosen to say it that day. I didn’t do middle school so personally i don’t know what they do in middle school, but in every single grade leading up to the last year of elementary school we were forced to stand still and silent facing the flag and reciting the pledge. And in Highschool we generally aren’t forced to stand usually, but sometimes you’ll get a class with a teacher who stands for the flag or kids just standing up in total silence facing the flag with their hands resting on their chests above their hearts. Its like, super eerie sometimes. Is this normal???? Or is america just weird like that????

I often think about how Tanjiro never wanted to be a demon slayer. His isn't so much to be good enough to be the Top Demon Slayer, but to be strong enough to help his sister (which coincidentally happens to mean that he has to be pretty damn strong). I think, had nezuko not survived, he would either not have been able to take the heartbreak or, if he still joined the corps, he would have gone into more of a support role, like a kakushi. Tanjiro isn't a vengeance driven person. I mean, getting muzan dead might make him feel a little better about his family being gone, but he knows that won't bring them back. In the end, Tanjiro's quest is a rescue mission, and I think that without Nezuko as a motivator, he would have been repelled by the violence of being a demon slayer. I think he would have clung to his role as a caretaker to keep himself sane, to keep the one scrap of familiarity that he knows. He doesn't care about being the one to land the final blow as long as the blow is dealt, it's why he's generally so good at fighting with a team (especially a team that include Inosuke lmao).

Really this is just me reflecting on tanjiro cooking for the other slayers and thinking about how happy he looks when he's taking care of people in a domestic setting. Also why he was absolutely thriving doing chores in the red light district. He's a protector when he needs to be, but he's happiest when he can be a caregiver.
