“Hey, is that the kind of greeting I get for trying to give you a scratch?” Bucky shook out his hand, the metal still bright and hot from the flames. He picked up a sprig of dried lavender and watched as it turned to glittering ash. “…I guess that works.”
Tony just licked his lips, nuzzling against Bucky’s neck more closely. You’re welcome.

Aka: A character study of Tony Stark. Aka. Why Tony Stark is not a textbook Narcissist. You need to have 5/9 of these symptoms to be diagnosed.
(1) has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate (Proportionate) achievements)
Look at him bragging about all these things he doesn’t really do, oh wait, no. He does pay for everything right down to the Avengers housing, and groceries. And he does design all of their gear, including their outfits, which does make them look cooler. (See here for details on that.)
(2) is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
I don’t even know what picture to put here, there is nothing in canon to support this idea that Tony is preoccupied with perfection. He’s preoccupied with keeping the people around him safe.
(3) believes that he or she is “special” and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)
Except that Tony does not only hang out with Bruce, in fact he spends a lot of time with Pepper who is not a genius, and Happy a normal guy who works security. Rhodey’s smart, but not on the same level Tony is, and none of the aforementioned people are in Tony’s socioeconmic group. He doesn’t view himself as above these people.
(4) requires excessive admiration
Ah yes because he reacts horribly to judgement from other people, and never changes his mind or adapts when his methods or ideas are questioned. He obviously can’t handle criticism and requires excessive phrase my bad.
(5) has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations
Ah yes Tony is the one who expects to be permitted to break international law because he’s a superhero. Sorry, my bad. (Sarcasm)
(6) is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
Obviously Tony is the one who takes advantage of others. (Sarcasm)
(7) lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others
Tony’s response when confronted by a grieving parent was empathy, and guilt. He recognized her feelings, and sought to change the situation to prevent another similar situation in the future.
(8) is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her
He’s not envious of his friends achievements. He’s so proud of Pepper.
(9) shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes
I am Iron Man.
Yeah Tony can show Arrogant and haughty behaviors, when put on the defensive, or when in front of a camera. That’s his job.
I am a Psych Major and I am sick and tired of Tony being called Narcissistic.

“What are you doing here, Pennyworth?” Jarvis hissed.
Alfred turned from his binoculars, narrowing his eyes. “Edwin Jarvis. I’d hoped we’d never cross paths again.”
“Once I see my charge is well and truly safe, I’ll be on my way,” Jarvis told him stiffly. “He won’t tell me who his new beau is, so I must make sure he’s not being taken advantage of.”
Alfred scoffed, returning his attention back to his binoculars. “If you really cared about his safety, you wouldn’t have let him step foot in Gotham.”
Jarvis sniffed in disgust. “I trust him with a lifelong Gothamite.”
“I wouldn’t,” Alfred muttered as Jarvis set up beside him with his own pair of binoculars.
“He’s got a watch gauntlet now,” Jarvis added. “And he promised to use it if he was being mugged this time.”
At that, Alfred gave a slight nod of approval. Despite all the weapons Tony Stark had designed, he’d always been hesitant to get into hand-to-hand combat.
“...Pennyworth,” Jarvis said after a moment.
Alfred sighed, loudly. “What?”
“Check your three o’clock,” Jarvis finished.
Alfred swiveled to his three o’clock. There, he caught the familiar navy blue turtleneck he’d helped Bruce pick out. Bruce had carefully turned his back to the windows, as if he’d sensed Alfred would be following him the second he wouldn’t tell him anything about his beau. Across the table from him... was Tony Stark.
Alfred stared for a long moment, then lowered his binoculars to look at Jarvis. “Jarvis,” he said slowly. “Why does Bruce think Tony is poor?”
“I don’t know, but the reason is probably the same as why Tony thinks Bruce is poor,” Jarvis sighed, running a hand over his face tiredly.
Alfred sighed as well. Well, he supposed this explained how cagey Bruce had been, simply saying ‘his name’s Tony. He’s not taking advantage of me because he doesn’t know I’m Bruce Wayne.’ He guessed the same could be said for Tony, if the way Jarvis was pinching the bridge of his nose was any indication.
“Well, at least it’s not some weirdo from Metropolis,” Jarvis finally said, nodding to himself, and Alfred reached over to clap a hand to his shoulder and squeeze in agreement.
Then they both picked up their binoculars again and watched as both Bruce and Tony ordered the cheapest things on the menu and then bickered over who was paying. Honestly.

Bill Nye for most of his career: Imma do science for kids. Science without politics. Nice, tame science for the kiddos.
Bill Nye now:
hey do you have a tumblr
no sorry
*sigh*…fuck you, Morgana. No, I mean it, fuck you.
First, that last line: Honorable human…Bullshit. All you’ve done is talk condescendingly to everyone who didn’t have tits while simultaneously being some kind of Fedora Bro to Ann (which is even worse cause you did it while she fighting against the man who had sexually harassed her).
Second, you have done nothing but use these kids for your own gain since the beginning and are only mad that they’re not entrusting everything to you or going to you for knowledge. You’re mad that these people that you wanted to use have surpassed you when even you’ve admitted to not knowing everything and have lamented on your lack of skills in some areas.
And third…this involves Ryuji. I love him, but I won’t deny his flaws. He is a bit of a meathead at times, a perv as well, but he means well and his brashness and rudeness is outmatched by his eagerness to jump in at the first sign of trouble and be a good person. But because he’s not up to your standards you make sure to belittle him and insult him at every turn. So when he starts making jabs about how useless you are..yeah, I’m on his side. It’s like the Kamoshida thing: there was gonna be a breaking point and it wouldn’t be Ryuji’s fault when he had enough.
I don’t hate Morgana. There is stuff I liked about him and he does get better after all this…but this was him at his worst and the fact he doesn’t get called on his faults on this and it s all heaped on Ryuji infuriates me.
“I mean— he’s probably fine.”
