don’t ever let anyone make you feel ashamed for not going down a conventional path (e.g. not finishing college or starting college later in life, doing an internship in your late 20s, not having a "career” by a certain age). all of this is arbitrary. do not create a life that aims to satisfy everyone but yourself. you worked hard as fuck to get to where you are. don’t you dare let others including yourself diminish those efforts. you do not deserve that. especially if you did it all while battling mental illness.
💙🐟🐬🐳🦋👗💧🧊🥏🎽🌌💎📘💤💠🔵🔹🔷🟦
you’ve drowned yourself for people who can’t swim in your love language.
burnt yourself for people who can’t put out their own flames.
abandoned yourself for people who pick and choose when to open their doors to you.
Too many times, you’ve put yourself last.

I got my heart broken and I survived, I failed 3 courses in university and graduated, I got rejected in the very first job I applied for and got promoted yesterday, I went through hard times with my family but then two years later, we laughed our hearts out over lunch, The closest friends disappointed me several times but I made new friends and loved them with all my heart. I did it once, I can do it again.

As you all know I’m pretty Obsessed with Dadzawa…So I thought I’d share with all of you some of my favorite Dadzawa/Parental Aizawa Shouta | Eraserhead fic s! I couldn’t fit them all on one page (big surprise) some I’m splitting them up in multiple posts! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
*Legend
- C/ N/C = Completed/ Not/Completed
- G, T+, M = Ratings
- N/W = No warning/ Chose not to put warnings
- Gdov, R/n-c, U = Graphic depictions of Violence, Rape/Non-consensual, Underage.
- Numbers.w = Word count
- If not completed, date of last update is included.
- It was only meant to be another job: wait under cover in the night for a trade by the ports, bust down some illegal Quirk enhancer operation, and take into custody a dangerous, illusive drug lord. It wasn’t anything new for Aizawa, nor was it anything overwhelming. However, the same thing couldn’t be said about finding yourself taking care of a young and very ill-mannered child.
- Or the one where Aizawa finds a 4-year-old Katsuki in the aftermaths of a drug bust and idiotically decides to take him in.
- Bakugou rounded the car but not before Aizawa caught a good look at his face. It was a blistering red on one cheek and his eyes were watery; not because he was upset, that much was certain, but because of the pain. Bakugou must have felt his gaze, turning and glaring at him before jumping into the car, Midoriya meekly climbing in the other side and squeezing himself as close to the door as possible.
- The shame of it was, if Bakugou had showed even the slightest hint of asking for help, Aizawa would have taken him.
- Aizawa isn’t expecting Bakugou Katsuki to turn up on his doorstep. That doesn’t mean he’s surprised when he does either.
- “You also said I couldn’t be a pro-hero.” Now the kid was just twisting his words around.
- It was Aizawa’s turn to get annoyed now. “Once again, I never said that. What makes you think that?”
- Bakugou turned away and mumbled something inaudible; Aizawa told him to repeat himself. “You can’t be a pro if you’re deaf.”
- “I should expel you just for saying that.”
- I told you outside,” Aizawa chooses his words carefully, reiterating the same point he’s made before. “My responsibility for you doesn’t end at the classroom. Every part of your life is partially my responsibility. Your father doesn’t scare or intimidate me. If you need help, I can get it for you, but you and I both know that you need to ask for it first.”
- Aizawa organizes a way for the students to go home for the holidays. Todoroki Shouto, however, gets left behind by his father. Aizawa, annoyed at Endeavor, takes Shouto under his care for the night, and is joined by a certain Yamada Hizashi.
- He remembers being scared and nervous at first. He remembers hitting Aizawa in the middle of a crowd. He remembers talking. He remembers feeling warm, feeling strangely happy. He remembers that small strip of paper Aizawa had given him, the one with his personal phone number written on it, and the promise he’d made to his teacher. And he remembers the promise his teacher had made to him.
- He has no idea why he’s here.
- Todoroki Shouto wakes up in a hospital with no memory of how he got there. He knows two things—he made a mistake somewhere along the way, and for some reason, Aizawa Shouta and Yamada Hizashi are here.
- When Aizawa and Yamada respond to a police call, the last thing they expect to happen is to adopt yet another kid. Yet here they are, filling out paperwork at the courthouse to get legal custody of a five-year old Todoroki Shouto.
- Once Endevor’s abuse is made public by a little green haired bird, Todoroki needs somewhere to stay. Two certain pro heroes house him while they wait for the trial (and maybe after that, too…)
- Endeavour’s “bad parenting” is something Todoroki just has to put up with…until he doesn’t.
- In this world of Heroes, it’s so easy to reach out a hand and help another up. In this world of Villains, it’s so easy to tear another down.
- It all starts, when Shouta Aizawa finds a young boy dying on the streets. As the police rush to find the boy’s attacker, Shouta suddenly finds himself in a position to care for a child who is scared, traumatized and in desperate need of a parental figure. It’s only temporary he tells himself. At least, that’s the plan.
- As each new turn in the investigation continues to add complication after complication, Shouta finds himself increasingly concerned for his young charge – and unwilling to give up a responsibility he wasn’t sure he wanted in the first place.
- Izuku Midoriya was 5 when he lost his mother to a villain attack and was saved by the hero Eraserhead.
- 3 weeks later Aizawa decided to adopt him
- I bet that even if you tracked him down now, he still wouldn’t want you because you’re just that worthless.“
- The last strand of patience Izuku had left snapped inside of him so violently that Izuku was surprised that the sound wasn’t audible. Before he could even think about what he was doing, before he could even think of yelling- screaming, even -he summoned the power of One for All and let his fist rocket directly into Katsuki’s smug face. Something cracked with alarming volume as Katsuki was flung backwards and slammed against the wall, and Izuku felt a sick sense of elation at the sound of the violent streams of curse words Katsuki began spewing. That…
- …Felt so goddamn good.
- Every person has a breaking point, and depending on what kind of person they are, their breaking point could be as muted as a lighter’s flame or as dangerous as a house fire. The nicest people are slow to anger, but once they’re kicked and punched to that point, every wise man knows to run. Izuku Midoriya is the nicest person that you could ever possibly meet.
- He has reached his breaking point, and it’s not a house fire.
- It’s an inferno.
- When Midoriya didn’t show up for class on Monday nobody really gave it a second thought. While it was odd for Midoriya to miss class, they were sure he had a legitimate excuse. Midoriya didn’t just not come to class so there must be a reason for his absence. Overall, nobody was worried, they were high schoolers and everybody missed class every once in awhile.
- When nobody had heard from him by Monday evening things became more problematic. But it wasn’t until Tuesday morning that they knew something was wrong, very wrong.
- Or the one where Izuku gets kidnapped and tortured and has to deal with the aftermath
- Midoriya Izuku is Quirkless.
- That doesn’t stop him from becoming a hero - there’s more to being a hero than just having a quirk. Izuku is going to take the world by storm, and he’ll start from the bottom.
- [Or, in which Midoriya Izuku decides to start at the basics - at General Education. Featuring cats, Shinsou Hitoshi being sleep deprived, Aizawa suffering, and Endeavor being roasted. Which, to be fair, is something that must happen on a daily basis - really, you couldn’t have at least cracked open the ‘How to Burn your Child’ pamphlet once?]
- When Izuku is Young, there is a class project meant to help children with their kanji. They write letters to a pen friend.
- Little Does he know, A Hero is receiving his letters, worrying day and night about a lonely child whose quirklessness makes him a target for bullies.
- Series of sometimes-related drabbles and ideas.
- Midoriya Izuku has a very high pain threshold. It’s useful, until it’s not.
- It isn’t until Izuku reaches his breaking point that he realises he doesn’t have to carry this pain by himself.
- Izuku Midoriya was a jumpy and scarred young man. Everyone seemed to have wrote off the scars as the side effects of his quirk, for he was essentially breaking himself each time he used it. After years of having such a dangerous quirk, it only made sense that his olive skin would be graced with jagged pink scars. It wasn’t possible that the new bruises he came to school with were from anything else. He was a boy who had everything: a roof over his head, food, a good education… How could someone as blessed as Izuku ever have something going on behind the scenes? It didn’t make sense. For years, Izuku’s suffering went unnoticed.
- Midoriya Hisashi truly was the master of deception, he had shocked himself with just how amazing he was at lying. It seriously did amuse the older man to watch young Izuku slowly break without anyone batting an eye. After beating his own son mercilessly, the older man still kept a charming smile on his face as he joyfully made his way through life. He seemed to have loved everyone and everything, but his own child. Oh what Izuku would give just to experience the love of a father.
- It’s a simple lunchtime discussion until it isn’t. It stops being simple the second Midoriya yells, "What kind of hero tells someone to kill themself?”
- Aizawa really isn’t cut out for this.
You may want to go through this routine as soon as you wake up, as a preventive measure.
If you haven’t eaten in a little while, your body needs fuel. It’s time for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
If there’s a specific food you want, it’s okay to eat it! You don’t have to eat perfectly healthy all the time– no one does! Just also use your brain a little, and notice the quantity you’re eating, and how healthy it is for you. You’re probably just fine at trusting your gut and knowing what your body needs.
Making a meal is hard for you right now, and that’s okay! Everybody struggles with cooking sometimes.
You have some options:
You can cook a meal for yourself.
You might have ready-made meals in the fridge.
You can get take-out or delivery.
You can go to a restaurant.
Take-out, delivery, and restaurants are a little more expensive than cooking on your own, but how you spend your money is your decision. It’s okay to treat yourself!
If you’re going to cook on your own, you have to decide what to make. A friend, partner, or family member can help with this. Here are some ideas for easy foods you can eat right now:
Pasta with butter, sauce, cheese, vegetables, and/or meat
Ramen noodles
Sandwiches
Rice
Grilled cheese (This can have meat on it, if you want!)
A smoothie or milkshake
Baked or fried potatoes
Eggs, pancakes, and/or bacon
Macaroni and cheese
Canned soup
Salad
Vegan
Boxed mashed potatoes
Medication needs to be taken on schedule, or your body might react negatively.
Take some time now to take any pills, do any tests or injections, or apply any ointments prescribed by your doctor.
If this is a persistent problem for you, you may want to set a smart phone alarm so you remember to take it at the same time every day.
Drink a glass of whatever liquid you like best. Water is ideal, but don’t beat yourself up if you’d rather have tea, soda, juice, or milk. Soda will actually make you feel thirstier, but if it’s easier for you, then that’s okay!
Everyone is an individual with different sleep schedules, but most people need 8 hours of relatively uninterrupted sleep. If you had less than that, and/or woke up frequently, and/or had nightmares, it might help you to take a nap.
Take a nap. You can finish this self-care guide when you wake up.
Ideally, let yourself sleep naturally, and sleep until you wake up. Obviously, this isn’t always possible. Otherwise, set an alarm for yourself, with plenty of time to wake up and get yourself together between your nap and your responsibilities.
If there is something your doctor has prescribed you for pain, you should take it or do it.
For aches and pains, take an aspirin. You may also want to apply a heating pad or a cold pack on whatever hurts.
If you have a stomach ache, there are medications for that, like Pepto Bismol, and hot tea may also help.
Be nice to your body, and try to do “replace” the unpleasant pain with some pleasant alternative sensations, like good smells and pleasurable textures.
If you’re too cold, you can try putting on some warm clothes, using a space heater, turning up the heat in your home, putting on a blanket, and/or snuggling with a pet or another person.
If you’re too hot, you can try putting on cooler clothes, turning on a fan, or turning up the AC in your house.
It’s hard to feel okay in an environment that is unfriendly for whatever reason. If your surroundings aren’t clean, set a timer for five minutes and take care of the biggest problems, like leftover food, pet messes, or dirty clothes.
Chores can be scary and exhausting, but that’s not what we’re doing here. We’re just taking a little five-minute clean up to make ourselves and our homes happier!
If you can, try to remove yourself from situations that are overwhelming or feel unsafe. If you can’t relocate entirely, take frequent breaks, or tune out with headphones.
If you have the energy and ability to take a shower, it may be a good idea. If you are unable to take a shower, here are some things to do instead:
Wash your face
Put on lotion
Change your clothes
Use dry shampoo
Whatever physical self-care activity you like best!
(Remember, any answer is okay!) If there’s something on your mind, we’re going to do our best to take care of it.
If it’s something you can change, then great! If not, do your best to reach out to someone and talk about it.
You can go back to whatever it is after we’re done working through this together. We’re just taking baby steps in the right direction.
If you’re generally anxious but don’t know why, that’s okay!
If you’re feeling anxious about something specific. That’s okay! Set a timer for 15 minutes and do something to take care of that worry. Maybe chip away at a task that seems insurmountable. You can do it!
Take deep, calm breaths.
Notice and list things in your surroundings.
Expose yourself to strong, pleasant sensations, like a pleasing smell or a favorite blanket.
Say out loud your name, your age, the date, and your location. List some things you’ve done today, or are going to do.
Splash water on your face or run your hands under the faucet.
Do a body scan meditation, or pay close attention to each of your body parts one by one.
Make tea. Feel the warmth of it in your hands, and the taste as you sip it calmly. Listen to music.
Play a categories game, and name some types of dogs, or clothing items, or gemstones, or countries, or anything else you can think of.
Write in your journal.
Take a mindful walk, either inside or outside. Pay close attention to your body and your surroundings.
Squiggle. Wiggle around. Dance. Stretch. Be silly and active for a few minutes.
Any other favorite grounding technique you’ve heard of or can think of.
There’s nothing wrong with experimenting!
If you’re feeling triggered, see if there’s a practical action you can take to lessen your distress. Can you block that unsafe person from your Facebook, for example?
If not, reach out and tell someone safe how you’re feeling. Just express yourself! Human contact works wonders when you’re not feeling well emotionally.
Remember that you’re here in the present, and nothing from your past can hurt you. If you like, you may want to try some grounding exercises to reinforce that idea.
Go back to number 6 and try the grounding activities.
Feeling depressed isn’t fun, but it doesn’t last forever! Don’t be mad or disappointed with yourself for feeling depressed.
Take 15 minutes and accomplish something small, like loading the dishwasher or making a friendship bracelet. You are not a failure, and your situation is not hopeless! You are a superhero, even if it doesn’t feel like it.
Everybody feels lonely sometimes. If you’re feeling lonely, there’s ways to reach out to people!
You can talk to someone in your house, or call someone on the phone. You can also use texting or Facebook messenger to speak to someone. You may want to talk about how you’re feeling, or you may not. Anything you want to talk about is okay!
If that isn’t or doesn’t seem possible, you can post a general message on Facebook, Tumblr, Vent, or another internet service, about whatever you want!
If you are feeling foggy, you might need some exercise.
If you can’t take a walk, that’s okay!
Here are some alternatives:
Jumping jacks
Bouncing on the bed
Dancing
Push ups or sit ups, if you like doing them
Walking up and down the stairs
Yoga
Wiggling, squirming, jiggling around; being silly and active and having fun!
If none of those are or seem possible, just sit outside for some fresh air!
Playing with pets can be a great way to take the edge off when you’re not feeling well. It doesn’t matter what kind of pet you have, just take some time to interact with them. Pet your cat, take your dog outside, feed your fish, hug your lizard…
This can be anything: crafts, watching TV, laying on the couch, taking a walk, playing Farmville… your choices are literally endless!
Obviously, don’t do anything that’s bad for you, like feeding addictions or harming yourself or others
Maybe now that you’ve done all this self care, you feel better– great! Maybe you don’t, and that’s okay too. But hopefully you’ve cleared things up and you know what to do next to take care of yourself.
You deserve self care, so even if it’s hard, do your best!
Good luck!
