Hello, I am writing an essay on the relationship between authors and fandom and would be immensely grateful if you could answer some questions I have about your experience on the topic.
Have your interactions with fans online and viewing fan discussion and content ever influenced how you view your own writing? If so does this impact how you write future stories?
I am wondering if the fan made content on the characters Gabriel and Beelzebub influenced how you wrote season two of the Good Omens TV show.
Do you believe there has been a change in how you engage with and view fandom from the time before the internet?
Thank you for your time, I hope you have a wonderful day.
1) Not that I can think of, other than it makes it a bit harder to write when you know people are waiting.
2) I don't think so.
3) I never saw it. But I'm glad that other people saw the same sparks fly between Gabriel and Beelzebub that I did.
4) Definitely. In the days of CompuServe and Genie the online conversations were longer and more nuanced. These days there's less nuance and less conversation.
A doodle I did last night, no idea why I went black and white(ish) with it
