Pro-Lifer’s Ableism

So called pro lifers claim to care so much about disabled people just, because they screech about people who get abortions because the fetus has Down syndrome, but don’t say a word when caregivers murder disabled people. They also want to cut benefits for disabled people (which are difficult enough to qualify for and are extremely punitive) and stand by while disabled people lose custody of their children, because of their disabilities. 

Plus, their creepy fetus worshipping stance means they’d let me die if a wanted pregnancy goes very wrong (e.g. ectopic pregnancy, sepsis, preeclampsia). And they don’t acknowledge the hundreds of disabled people (especially disabled POC) who were sterilized against their will. 

In short, they are hypocritical jerks who honestly don’t give a shit about disabled people. 

May Alcott Nieriker

-Very loosely the basis for Amy in Little Women, May Alcott’s illustrations for Little Women were panned by critics. After studying in Europe, her paintings were twice selected by the famous Paris Salon. 

-In addition, she wrote and published a book called, Studying Art Abroad and How to Do It Cheaply, which gave advice to aspiring American artists (particularly women) on how to learn to paint in Europe while on a budget. 

-She was praised for being a talented copyist of J.M.W.Turner, and also specialized in still life paintings. One of these still life paintings was selected by the Paris Salon in 1877.

-Unfortunately, she died shortly after giving birth to her daughter Louisa May “Lulu” Nieriker in December 1879. Lulu was raised by her aunt Louisa May Alcott until the author’s death in 1888. She was subsequently raised by her father Ernest Nieriker. 

-In 2002 there was an exhibition of her work titled “Lessons, Sketching, and dreams: May Alcott as Artist”.

Just goes to show New Orleans has always had lax alcohol laws. 

Prohibition agent Izzy Einstein bragged that he could find liquor in any city in under 30 minutes. In Chicago it took him 21 min. In Atlanta 17, and Pittsburgh just 11. But New Orleans set the record: 35 seconds. Einstein asked his taxi driver where to get a drink, and the driver handed him one.

Starting to realize the reason I find Soraya so relatable is, because I struggled with feeling like I was inherently evil due to my autism and ADHD. Her learning to accept her powers kind of parallels my struggles to accept my neurodiversity, although thankfully without a kingdom at stake.

Pagan sues Panera Bread Company alleging religious discrimination

(RNS) — A former baker for the chain said she was told that she 'needed to find God,' according to a court filing.

According to the lawsuit, the subject of McCoy’s religion came up in late May of 2020, when McCoy was on break with the store’s assistant manager, Lori Dubs, and the manager, Kerri Ann Show. Show asked McCoy what her religion was, and Tammy responded, “I am Pagan.”

Show reportedly responded by telling McCoy that she was going to hell, and Dubs “vigorously nodded her head in agreement.”

The lawsuit then goes on to describe a series of other discriminatory actions. Among the complaints are that McCoy’s hours were cut, and when she asked why, she was told that she “needed to find God” before returning to her “previous schedule.”

Taco Bell, Arby's, Pizza Huts, and Wendy's) and/or Panera Bread Corporate offices to notify them that you're boycotting their stores because of this case, please, please use civil language so as not to adversely affect the plaintiff or her case in the media or to prospective jurors!
