Nero ordering the death of her half-sister Claudia Octavia probably was the deciding factor for refusing to marry him. He also possibly suspected she had knowledge of the Pisonian Conspiracy of 65 C.E.
A statue depicting Claudia Antonia (30-66 CE), daughter of emperor Claudius and Aelia Paetia (adoptive sister of Sejanus).
I was actually surprised to discover that she lived that long - but then again Claudia’s descent made her a very attractive bright candidate for ambitious politicians. If Tacitus & co are to believed among the suitors were for example Cornelius Piso and emperor Nero. Latter also had her executed after Claudia refused emperor’s proposal.

Adrian Ivashkov: Wait! So you’re that Antony guy I read about in history class. Let’s party together!
Mark Antony: As long as this party includes gallons of wine, I’m in.
Sydney Sage: Damn it, Adrian!
Cleopatra: Just hide their car keys, and then they’ll have to call us to rescue them.
Sydney Sage: Good point.
So called pro lifers claim to care so much about disabled people just, because they screech about people who get abortions because the fetus has Down syndrome, but don’t say a word when caregivers murder disabled people. They also want to cut benefits for disabled people (which are difficult enough to qualify for and are extremely punitive) and stand by while disabled people lose custody of their children, because of their disabilities.
Plus, their creepy fetus worshipping stance means they’d let me die if a wanted pregnancy goes very wrong (e.g. ectopic pregnancy, sepsis, preeclampsia). And they don’t acknowledge the hundreds of disabled people (especially disabled POC) who were sterilized against their will.
In short, they are hypocritical jerks who honestly don’t give a shit about disabled people.
How the men chronicling history saw them:
-catfight over Mark Antony, Fulvia pining after Antony until she died
How they really interacted:
Fulvia: That Octavian guy is a manipulative twerp, so don’t trust him. I’m praying to Fortuna and Minerva you kick his ass into next week. It’ll make dying in exile worth it.
Cleopatra: I’d be willing to do that for you. Don’t worry about Antyllus and Jullus. I’ll look after them.
Fulvia: Oh, and just as a warning. Marcus snores louder than a herd of elephants.
Mark Antony: I don’t snore!
Fulvia and Cleopatra: Yes, you do!
You tell him Rose!
Jesse: whatever you say, slut
Rose: ouch, oooh, such an insult. Let me know when you come up with something creative to call me, you sack of poorly packaged horseshit
(c. 83 BCE-40 BCE) The first non-mythological woman to appear on Roman coins. She was married three times (Publius Clodius Pulcher, Gaius Scribonius Curio, Mark Antony) and actively involved in all her husband’s careers. She testified against the murderer of her first husband, and inherited several street gangs. She unsuccessfully plotted against Octavian in retaliation for divorcing her daughter Clodia. She was exiled to Greece and died. One of her sons by Mark Antony, Antyllus was executed after the Battle of Actium, while the other Jullus committed suicide after participating in a plot with Julia (the daughter of Augustus).
She’s not as well known, due to being overshadowed by both Livia Drusilla and Cleopatra (who was also involved with Mark Antony).

Just goes to show New Orleans has always had lax alcohol laws.
Prohibition agent Izzy Einstein bragged that he could find liquor in any city in under 30 minutes. In Chicago it took him 21 min. In Atlanta 17, and Pittsburgh just 11. But New Orleans set the record: 35 seconds. Einstein asked his taxi driver where to get a drink, and the driver handed him one.
Ides of March was already an important day. Julius Caesar’s assassination just made it more important.
Percy, holding the door for Mary: After you :)
Mary: No, after you :)
Percy: I insist, after you :)
Byron, pushing pass the both of them: No, after me.
This is both hilarious and accurate for Lord Byron, who really was that arrogant.
