‘C!dream Is A Master Manipulator!’

I have a love hate relationship with the name pandoras vault.

On the one hand it’s so cool! My first thought when hearing it was that it’s so clever, and I love mythology references (plus the continuation with ‘Theseus’ is rly nice)

But it also does the exact same thing that the fandom does to c!dream. The metaphor of the name directly compares him to the embodiment of all evil; and suggests that anyone who lets him out would be a fool, who is putting everyone else in grave danger. The contents of the original pandoras box weren’t people capable of change, they were instead concepts.

Top tip- avoid anyone who calls c!dream a psychopath.

thinking abt c!dream avoiding one half of the cell, and staying close to the lava. c!techno finally asks him what’s wrong, and him haltingly explaining that c!quackity held his head underwater whenever he got bored of using weapons, and now he can’t go near the sink.

A c!dream who, after prison, is fine.

He’s not really. Deep down he is so so hurt- but he doesn’t act like it. Because showing that he’s hurt, not just physically but emotionally, means that c!sam and c!quackity won. It means that other people will see his weakness, know that he’s an easy target. Now that he’s out, that he can see the sun, go a day without torture, he’s gotten himself under control. No more pathetic displays. (And maybe, c!dream doesn’t think he’s allowed to feel bad- are monsters entitled to emotions?)

Some people don’t believe that anything happened to c!dream at all. Prison was a mercy, one they’d been forced into granting him, and how dare anyone suggest he was hurt. Because who could remain that unaffected after torture?

Others think it’s true, see the evidence in c!dreams injuries, or a confession from c!sam or c!quackity. But it doesn’t matter. C!dream isn’t traumatised, so who cares? He was an un caring monster, a psychopath incapable of emotion. No one could hurt him, so it didn’t matter if they tried.

immediately tired of people being all "i'm allowed to hate tommy for the slightest reasons" like. sure. but fucking consider WHY you hate tommy for self-ascribed slight reasons when other characters have done worse, more malicious things. why are you singling out a gay man? why isn't he allowed to express sexual desire? why is his reciprocation of buck's daddy issues joke HIS fault? jesus christ just say you want to sexualize queer men without listening to us talk about our experiences, traumas, and desires

Fandom critical-

I think some c!tommy apologists who are also c!dream antis don’t think ANYONE is allowed to like morally grey characters. In order to like c!tommy, they feel as though he can’t have any flaws. That if he’s both a bit of a dick sometimes and still their favourite character, it’s a moral failing on their part. And if they have to make c!tommy perfect in order to like him, how can they let others appreciate c!dream?

I’m not usually one for pain olympics, but since people keep saying that c!dream’s actions towards others are justification for his torture I gotta say it.

The prison is worse that exile

I somewhat disagree, as trauma is subjective- however I absolutely agree that the prison is a clear escalation. And even if exile was ‘worse’ that doesn’t make any further mistreatment okay!
