Way of Echo | part 1

A small introduction: due to the fact that there was a story with Echo and she was announced as a hero, I wanted to share the full my story, which during these months I came up with based on facts known up to this point. This is a headcanon, but I always try very hard to get into the original. I only slightly changed my original story - in the old version, Dexter really had a wife engineer who died due to the implicit fault of Overwatch, and it seems now she has a name and personality.

One year later.

One late evening at the bar, the team recalled this sad story. Among them was Mccree. He thought about what had happened and every time he did not leave a heavy feeling of guilt. Overwatch allowed the death of such a valuable person. Whose safety can they provide if they are not able to save themselves? But with his mind, he understood that this should not bother him and he could no longer fix anything.

When everyone dispersed beside him, a saddened man crouched, he wanted to get drunk quickly. Mccee decided to ask what happened to him. The man briefly shared his grief with him, telling about the death of his wife, today was exactly a year from that moment. Jesse sympathizes with him and lets speak out until the person who introduced himself as Dexter shows him a photo of the deceased. Not immediately, but he recognizes Liao in the photo, and listens to his interlocutor more attentively. Dexter tells the sweetest memories that come to his mind. Her nice smile, an amazing selection of films for the evening, rare days that they could spend together because of work… McCree is getting darker.

“I once worked on artificial intelligence,” Dexter began suddenly, “I thought, is it possible to transfer human consciousness to the body of a robot? Maybe… Of course she has already…” “Sorry, but I think it doesn’t work like that,” the man remarked sadly. “You don’t understand how dear she was to me… I should at least try,” he objected. Silence fell. Nobody wanted to argue and drink already. “Maybe I know someone who can help you, but don’t say anything about me,” Jesse said and they shook hands.

Dexter turns to Overwatch’s leadership, already as a specialist in robotics. He, too, was an employee of Omnic Corporation in the past. He learns about his wife’s projects and is surprised that he knew so little about them. Dexter offers to continue her business, but the management refuses to finance, then he offers this as a secret experiment, which does not carry the overwatch logo in the end. Reluctantly, he is allowed to continue work. He does not report either a resurrection or his acquaintance with Mccree and works hard.

He proves to management the importance of having an individual echo of character and refusing to limit its independence. He uses Liao’s deferred development to refine the Echo enclosure and its software.

Soon, a renewed Echo comes into the world.

But that was only the beginning.

Keep Dylan Brock away from Miles

I don’t hate Dylan Brock. I think the idea of a kid who hates Spider-Man but loves Venom to be fun. I like how he is and honestly, I have nothing against him except how he was born but again, that is not on his character.

Just keep him away from Miles.

Now the Spidey-Office(which Venom is apart of. don’t get it twisted) has been pushing legacies of everything Spider-Man. Of course there is Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen. Those are the obvious ones. Then you have Starling.

Tiana Toomes. Granddaughter of Adrian Toomes and arch enemy of Tombstone. She has been sort of Miles’ Black Cat except she is just a more ruthless anti-hero than she is just bad.

Spider-Zero who is essentially Madame Web.

Her job is to watch over the Web of Life. She goes as far to say that after the first one was destroyed, the new one needs to be taken care of by the new Spider-people i.e. not Peter Parker Spider-people.

Kraven’s son or clone of Kraven.

Who looks exactly like Kraven but without the suicidal tendencies. Kraven killed himself again after yet another Hunt, but this time he had the decency to pass on his legacy to his son.

Ana Kravinoff, Kraven’s Inhuman and self-renounced daughter.

Billy Connors or Billy Connors’ clone since the Lizard ate his son and had to clone him because Slott said whoops.

And Normie Osborn who was already taken over by the Carnage Symbiote. And he is the grandson of Norman Osborn, son of Harry and Liz Allen. He is the heir to Alchemax. And he is essentially Norman Osborn Jr.

And mark my words. There probably will be some girl or boy or someone coming out of that Black Cat book who Felicia is going to mentor or some shit. Superior Spider-Man appears to be ending soon and that conclusion seems to be that classic Otto is back.

Now you may think I am tripping but this has been accross 4 different books in under a year. And within that year, Dylan was created. And then all of the sudden Sleeper shows up. And both Dylan and Miles get roped in Absolute Carnage together. In fact, Miles was literally only solo other character outside of Eddie’s Venom that has been involved with Absolute Carnage for three issues. Everyone else has given the issue only 1 even fucking Amazing Spider-Man.

And I will be real with Venom fans. I don’t think it’s any coincidence that, in a period where there is no way Anne and Eddie could have had sex, Dylan was conceived through dubious means such as giving birth via Symbiote bonding. Cates created Dylan for a reason. Cates was the only writer who featured Miles Morales after Bendis left Marvel and his last issue with the character ended until Miles own book came about. That Dylan is around the age of Miles just like Normie just like Billie and just like Tiana. Mayday or Annie May ain’t even the twinkle in Peter’s eye yet in Marvel 616 yet. Miles getting transported to 616 in a rather crude way. And suddenly the majority of Spider-Man’s rogues start having kids around his age and shit or their kids have powers or are in positions to have powers?

Billy has been in Spider-Man for as long as his father and now he gets his father’s Lizard powers? Normie was created over 30 years ago and now he suddenly starts being crucial to the storyline? Kraven has always been...fruitful but now he suddenly has two heirs to his name that would look at Miles and say it’s destiny or some shit. Dylan’s hamfisted origin turns to a writer just quickly and hastily trying to create an foil to Miles with a ‘here, Eddie for no logical reason has a kid too.’ Then you suddenly bring in the other symbiote child of Venom and Eddie that isn’t evil? Vulture now has a granddaughter and as soon as the Web of Life is destroyed, there is a new one with a new watcher? Naw. Spidey-office, this is not a coincidence. It is purposeful.

Arthur and Clark in JL movie

Some thoughts I have after viewing JL for the second time solely to look at Arthur and Clark. As many who have followed me for a while know, I drew my first AquaSupes fanart back in 2015. It’s just a random rare pair that pops up in my head one day that seems hopeless from the start. Even when all the trailers of JL appeared, I never held hope that Arthur and Clark’s relationship would get explored in any ways. And it’s true. No interaction in the movie apart from the fight, Clark did not even look at Arthur once, they don’t even touch on the subject it’s Arthur who saved Clark back in MoS.

Amazing how the whole movie full of interaction and i keep being drawn to a relationship that is like shadows at noons, goings unheralded, passings unmourned…

But action speaks louder than word, doesn’t it?

Somewhat belated entry for day 14 of @symbruary - Favorite fanworks! 

If I tried to do a pic for all of the amazing, wonderful fics I’ve read, I would never get anything else done ever :’D So I tried to narrow it down to the ones that have stuck with me for months and months after first reading them. Slow-burn SymbiOT3 fic that I absolutely adore. I love how it takes Eddie and Flash a while to even see each other face to face! There’s so much drama and fun dialogue, and Andi is an absolute gem. The plot itself is super interesting, and I can’t wait to see how it interweaves with Flash and Eddie getting to know each other better.

Yet another SymbiOT3, this is the first in the Peachy series! The series as a whole is wonderful, and the character development for all three is beautiful. Especially Flash coming to terms with gender identity stuff! The series always gives me such a warm cozy feeling reading it. 

How I Met my Brother and Regretted Everything by Prince_of_Trash (@princess-of-peachtrees)

To be completely 100% honest, I did not care at all about Carnage as a character before reading this fic. Now I fucking love him and his rat-bastard self. AND RED, OH MY GOD RED. This fic has one of my favorite characterizations of Sleeper, and is an absolutely hysterical ride. Even with the funny setup, tho, it still does a great job of hammering home the sadder scenes with amazing skill.

SymbiOT3, but this time with Movie!Eddie! The characterizations in this fic are fantastic, and I especially love how much it delves into Flash’s head (the angst is delicious). The pacing is phenomenal, and the progression of Eddie and Flash’s relationship feels incredibly natural in a way that makes me feel for them and their beloved goo alien when anything goes wrong.

All of these are fics that I love to go back to for inspiration, or just a fun time! I highly recommend checking out all of these wonderful authors and their other works as well! 

Obviously there are also fantastic artists in our fandom ( @d-erm, @owlapinart, and @freedomconvicted to name a few!) I’d list them all but others have wonderfully done that already, so I suggest perusing the rec lists I’ve reblogged because we have so many incredible people providing quality Venom content <3 

hope this tutorial helps, anon!! a lot of this is a result of experimentation and seeing what looks best based on your picture. what i’m essentially doing is relying on the overall “mood” bg colour tie everything together cohesively by putting the local colours over it on the “soft light” filter. the other changes i do, such as the blue light on him and the flavour elements are all based around making it more cohesive, e.g. the glow from the pool is all over the background AND the subject, instead of just the pool, pulling them together, if that makes sense! 

of course this also relies on having some sense of what a realistic version of your scene would look like - for this comic i looked up “pool scenes night” on google to gather references i could take the colours from, and looked up lighting references for the way light would hit a face if coming from the bottom, stuff like that.

the other example is from a commission i did: 

in this case, the lighting situation has a lot more light, and isn’t as atypical as pool-at-night lighting. so it was easier to rely on my usual method of colour layering, i.e.

local colour on multiply (as opposed to soft light) 

monochrome shading on normal

again, experiment experiment experiment! hope this helps!

Peter shuffled out of his bedroom to make coffee.

He froze, staring at the half dozen symbiotes huddled together on his living room carpet.

The symbiotes stared back. A hulking green-and-black humanoid sitting amongst the smaller sludges said, “Hey.”

“Hey.” Peter turned around, went back into his bedroom, and shut the door.

He opened the door again. They were still there. Nuts. “What.”

“We’re just using your phone,” the green one said.
