When I was in that situation I kept my journals that had story ideas/fanfic starters I would hide them between my bed and wall, under my pillow, behind my dresser and between my mattress/boxspring or mattress/floor. It was cheap, did the job and kept my journals in good condition when I was not using them.
Sorry your going through that tho, that really sucks and I wish you luck on it getting better.
I live with people who refuse to respect my privacy. Fellow writers who are like me and enjoy writing on paper more than typing on a computer, how do you keep all your notes and notebooks private? Any ideas?
*hugs* I’m sorry that you need this kind of advice, anon. That’s a terrible situation to be in.
My first thought is to buy a hardcover journal and get the same size hardcover book at a thrift shop. Redonate the book but keep the book jacket and put it over the journal. Then it will blend in with the other books on your shelf - as long as you don’t use bookmarks/stickers etc. or paste in photos or other items. That would make it obvious that it isn’t just another book. It would also help if the paper in the journal was cream coloured rather than white.
Anyone else have ideas?
This is not okay, please share guys.
I didnt really wanna resort to using this site, and I hate talking about political stuff, but this is too important to me and I have a FAR bigger following here than anywhere else.
Hi. My name is Liz, and my school is going through MAJOR budget cuts from the state Governor.
Last year, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy decided he would take almost 80 million dollars from my entire school district to give to private schools.
80 MILLION! THAT'S ALL OF OUR SCHOOL'S FUNDING.
My school is known for our clubs, our plays, our chorus, and most importantly our Football team and school spirit. I LOVE my high school. Which is pretty surprising coming from me, a person who genuinely doesn't like going to school. But my school is fun! It's so lively and everyone is so spirited. But if Murphy continues the budget cuts, we will lose all that. We lose our clubs. Our activities. Our projects. Our music. Our football team. Our spirit.
My school, and my TOWN will be nothing if this goes through. This will ruin everything.
But we are gonna try and stop this.
On December 10, 2019, the entire district of Tom's River will be going to the governors??? Office??? Building???? In Trenton to hold a Rally. Thousands of children will be standing outside of his office and protesting against the budget cuts.
The things that the governor is doing is going to affect mine and a lot of other kids' futures. And definitely NOT in a good way. Hundreds of thousands of kids will not have college opportunities, scholarship opportunities, or even sustainable jobs in the future. This needs to stop.
And now, this is where you guys come in. SPREAD THIS LIKE WILDFIRE.
I wont have petitions and shit up until tomorrow when the Rally takes place, so all you guys can really do right now is spread this post. Make it known how these budget cuts are going to effect me and the kids in my district. Save our future.
due to personal reasons i will be *skyrim npc death sound as i rag doll to the floor*
A lot of the time though when people hear or read the word critical, they view it as the negative. We need to change, in a social sense, what the word critical and critical analysis means.
To add to this and explain what I mean, I look at characters critically when I like them. I find their flaws and perfections and see how they intermingle to make a character I like. I examine how that characters past as influenced their present and how it may influence their future.
From a narrative standpoint, I pick apart what makes a piece of literature I like to find out more about it. I use those ELA classes I took in Middle/HS and I put them to use in everything I read. I try to understand the story for what it is and what it could be trying to say between the lines. I look for all the negative and the positive and I ask, "What, When, Why and How?"
All aspiring authors should try to do this, with professional and non-professional(free content, like Fanfics) to see how their favorite authors convey emotions, tell a scene, etc. The people around you, be they famous or not, can teach you so much- you just have to look for the golden nuggets of themselves they sprinkled into their works.
I think the people who say “You don’t need to be critical of every piece of media you consume” fundamentally misunderstand what we mean by “critical”.
When we say “be critical of the media you consume” we don’t mean “be negative” as in, find every flaw and pick it apart CinemaSins style.
We mean “examine it”. Like, look at what you are consuming, and in many cases, enjoying, and ask yourself why you are enjoying it. Ask yourself who made it. Ask yourself if you are the target audience. Ask yourself if you are being represented by the characters you see. Ask yourself if the author has biases or political leanings they are trying to include in the story.
Just, ask yourself questions. The answers don’t have to be negative. That’s not what being critical means.
I’ll just jump right in with the rules for this blog. It will have info on requesting, asking questions and submitting your own works.
Rules for requesting Imagines, Headcanons and Reader Inserts:
We’ll start with NSFW, extreme things will be posted on my Ao3 and a link posted in response to your ask. I will write virtually any kink, but I have the right to refuse any that make me uncomfortable.
Regarding pronouns in requests, by default will be Female. If you want others, you must specify. If you want a trans reader that’s fine, but I will use the pronouns of the reader’s preferred gender. (Say MtF will have Fem pronouns while an FtM will have male pronouns.) NSFW content with trans characters will be, by default, fully transitioned(meaning they will have preferred genitals and minimal mention or attention paid to any scarring) this is to avoid fetishizing transgender characters unless specified that they want a more emotional take on intercourse with a not fully transitioned reader.
To request NSFW I ask you to be 18 years or older and that all characters requested be 18 years or older. I would prefer minors to not interact but I know you still will(cause fuck what adults say) but please respect my boundaries as I would respect yours.
If you an issue with a request filled(whether you requested it or not) please feel free to DM me. Keep in mind, I may not rewrite the finished product and depending on how you approach me about it may lead to your entire filled request being deleted. If you show me respect I will show you respect.
My character request limit per request is 4, but if you want short headcanons then you may request up to 6.(short as in 2-3 bullet points per character)
Now onto what personal asks you may do:
You may ask what I look like, tho my Tumblr image is pretty close.
You may also ask about my likes and dislikes, and any discourse concerning fandoms or characters.
I do have some problematic ships/favs, you may ask about them and why I like them. No, I do not stan any of them, I just think they’re neat.
Personal questions, like my childhood or what I want to do in the future, are fine.
Questions about politics, social debates and other debacle like that are not accepted. I will not discuss my personal viewpoints on such matters, but you make ask about my philosophies I like to live by.
Submitting:
Again, I have the right to refuse any submit I do not deem appropriate.
By that, I mean Underaged NSFW.
Please properly display warnings at the top of all posts if you wish to submit, even if it is not NSFW. People, especially me, like to have a hint of what we are going to read.
If you are unsure at all about anything, feel free to DM me and ask questions. If you wish for me to grammar check your work, I do not mind but keep in mind I would like to have it submitted to my blog if I grammar check it.
You may submit works for fandoms not in my fandom list, as I’m sure there will be followers who like the same fandom plus it could get me into new fandoms.
A link to a series I'm writing on AO3 for BNHA. READ THE TAGS FOR THE STORIES CAREFULLY. I am not responsible for anything, as I've clearly tagged what is going to happen in the fics. so far all fics are character abuse (all characters are 18+, only 1 underaged character and she is the abuser. If that makes you uncomfortable, do not read it, that fic is called Songbird.)
I just noticed that my requests weren't part of the fandoms you listed that you write for. I'd like to apologize for that. If you want I can request something more in line to what you write for.
It's alright! And if it's not too much trouble, yes, please? I've been trying to watch the SAW movies/clips but I can't really get through them. For some reason, SAW is too graphic for me? Which is odd, considering I like horror and don't really mind gore. I'm also having trouble grasping her character, so I'm having trouble writing for her.
Call Me Z | FtM He/They | 18+ | I'm 23 | Pisces | Slytherin | Earth Hare | INTP | Requests: ✅| search Rules for Rules | Fandom list is just Fandom list in my search | Very Vulgar |
