There was a TikTok post about an advertisement for “blood-making pills for weak women” someone found in a newspaper from the 1890s and everybody seemed to think it was just an example of the weird misogyny of the day and age but no. Anemia was a massive public health concern. It always has been through history but part of the reason we have this idea of old timey women thought history being physical weak, chronically cold and pale and fainting is because they often they were. Anemia was also a massive problem for men in that day but even now it disproportionally affects people who menstruate. So tonics full of stimulants and “healthful vitamins” were marketed at young women in pages upon pages of advertisements in every newspaper. People generally felt like shit all the time back then.
huge shoutout to boys who have been referred to with she/her for so long that it doesn’t bother them anymore
huge shoutout to boys who have fully embraced femininity for whatever reason, be it they have to in order to survive the misgendering or because they think masc presentation doesn’t look right on them
huge shoutout to boys who stop and stare and think for a moment when the document/application asks for their name and gender. huge shoutout to the ones who fill it out with their deadname and assigned gender.
huge shoutout to the boys who grow up to be men who die and are remembered as women.
huge shoutout to boys who never made it in life, who never had the friend group they wanted, the job they wanted, the wardrobe they wanted. who would have succeeded if they just had that injection sitting in a box under their bed.
huge shoutout to the boys who physically can’t transition, whose bodies can’t handle recovering from a surgery or who can’t wear regular clothes.
huge shoutout to boys who associate masculinity with abuse, hate, anger, who would rather die than be what that masculine figure was to them
huge shoutout to boys who don’t have the money to transition, who can’t afford a trip to a clinic or the shots that come afterward, who have to work every day for twelve hours at multiple gas stations to get by, with help.
huge shoutout to boys who don’t live in a safe place, who can’t afford to be known around town as Clarissa and morph into Henry. who had long hair all his life and then didn’t. who painted his nails until he didn’t. who wore lace and skinny jeans until he didn’t. who would be assaulted for it, and even be killed for it.
if youre any of these people it should be made clear that you are and always will be men. it doesn’t matter what your outside shows, or what youre told, or how youre forced to behave or look. your manhood is stored in the heart, it always has been, that’s how youre aware of it, and its always there, and it will always show, be it in the way you talk or the things you like or the job you have. and if it doesn’t, that’s okay too. your manhood is something you just are, and you always will be as much of a man that Max who started transitioning at 13 is. none of the rest matters. if you need a guy to spraypaint your name onto your gravestone, i have a guy. you will make it.

Bishop asks Trump to show mercy to LGBTQ people and migrants He was simply asked to show mercy toward our marginalized groups of people. Yet being asked to treat vulnerable groups of men, women and children with some small amount of basic human decency made these MAGA Republicans visibly uncomfortable. To be clear, he wasn't asked to support these groups, or even show them a little kindness. He was simply asked to please treat them like human beings — to not single them out and treat them like subhuman "animals," as Trump has called them. There is something deeply and truly wrong with someone who views acting with even just a bare minimum of human decency is asking too much of them — as if things like Honor, Integrity and Compassion are repugnant to their very soul.
we used to get prescribed a summer on the seaside. now we just get told to go touch grass. the economy is in shambles
Senpai says you’re welcome
Crying with my mama—
I ask what the limit to her love is.
She says that there’s nothing,
still some clarity is wanted.
She doesn’t understand
becoming something different,
but I can hold her hand
and she can ask forgiveness.
There’s a
blue sky ahead—
it grows
by keeping promises.
If god
made wheat
for bread,
then god made me to be an honest man.
Daily in communion with my deepest wishes—
shaving in the mirror,
reading science fiction.
Tomorrow and tomorrow, I will learn the meaning,
of the lengths that I will go to be alive, and love, and listen.
There’s a
blue sky ahead—
it grows
by keeping promises.
If god
made wheat
for bread,
then god made me to be an honest man.
I will not repeat the tenets of my born religion,
or lend weight to an argument that I am not sufficient.
I am not determined by the love that I am given.
I am here because I’m here because I’m here,
and it is written.
There’s a
blue sky ahead—
it grows
by keeping promises.
If god
made wheat
for bread,
then god made me to be an honest man.
I will choose myself over the institution.
I will not believe the propaganda that I’m used in.
I can break my heart to own my revolution.
Oh, and I am more courageous for the wanting.
I am more courageous for the wanting.
And I can choose to be
an honest man.
Mama, I won’t plead,
I’m simply what I am—
and you can still believe
whatever that you can.
the idea that restrooms, locker rooms, etc need to be single-sex spaces in order for women to be safe is patriarchy's way of signalling to men & boys that society doesn't expect them to behave themselves around women. it is directly antifeminist. it would be antifeminist even if trans people did not exist. a feminist society would demand that women should be safe in all spaces even when there are men there.
If you’re an American federal employee and got an email saying “it’s ok to quit your job.” Do not, for the love of everything, quit your job. This is purely a scare tactic to get rid of as many people as possible without legal consequences.
