a/n : this is just a self indulgent set of headcanons that I had on my mind during the exams and this idea has been sitting in my mind for a while now

Natsume is a really interesting roommate to say the least! When you first met him, he was quite welcoming but the moment you came back into the apartment with your luggage, he was already back in his room...

What really prompted the interaction between the two of you? In the first week of you moving in, there was a blackout in the whole apartment. Of course out of concern, he went to check what happened and if you're alright! thank goodness you weren't hurt, but he lit up candles and the two of you talked throughout the night.

He helps you with the classwork or assignments that you have complete, if you take the same classes of course! His notes are really detailed and he can explain concepts really well, don't you think?

he can definitely cook, no questions asked. If it's within his ability, he's always willing to make it for you! Or you two may go to the cafe down the street, anything works with him really!

game night in your apartment is a really important thing for him. Sometimes, Sora or Tsumugi comes along and also plays, their always happy to play with the two of you! However, be careful... Natsume sure isn't a stranger to many games and he can be really ruthless.

You have to remind him to take breaks and rest every once in a while too. At 3 a.m, a light can still be seen coming from his room. Natsume is really dedicated to what interests him and this can cause him to forget about his own wellbeing!

When college life gets too heavy or difficult, he is always ready to be the shoulder that you can cry on or the person who will listen to all your problems. Even if you don't want advice or comments, you just want someone to listen to you, he's always there!

He definitely does not want you to worry for him so you have to make sure to catch on the signs that the stress is getting to him and help him ease the tension, he really does appreciate it!

Perhaps this seemingly cute college roommate relation ship will bloom into something more?

karasu is someone you managed to easily hate.

every since you moved to kyoto, tabito made your life a living hell. you end up being his neighbor, your window was right across his and your mothers end up instant friends. the first time you saw him, you thought he was very attractive. the way his tall built slightly loomed over you and his skin was dripping with sweat from – you assumed – practicing. he was very attractive. but, right after you said a timid 'hello' and bowed, everything you felt for the boy went down the drain.

"ya ma', who ta fuck is this? 'm i s'posed to interact with someone this mediocre? sheesh." he yelled to his mother, pointing a finger at you. after he heard you murmur a angry 'huh?', he flicked your forehead and walked away, not even bothering to look your way again. "tch, 'm goin' back to practice."

after that, you two were always bickering. on the way to school, you would always try to push him into the street, claiming that him getting hit by a car would be a favor to society – he was stronger than you, so you only managed to gain some chuckles of pity from him. during your shared classes, sometimes he would sit behind you and poke you softly with his pens, making you swear loudly and get reprimanded by your teacher. his smirk as you got yelled at always made you want to slap him.

the perfect moment to get back at him came with a soccer match in your school.

it was a classic. your school against their biggest rival, a match that everyone would go and watch, liking soccer or not. during the whole week, tabito seemed to be relaxed. even if he wasn't bothering you that much because of his pratice, he still seemed to be taking that match lightly, as if he already won.

when the day came, you didn't even wanted to go watch the teams play. you knew that if he saw you in the crowd, karasu wouldn't let you hear the end of it and you rsther just not go through that torture. unfortunately, your friend dragged you to the field, claiming that you two had to support the team. you thought it was bullshit, but just decided to follow, what if it ends up being fun?

you two sat on the benches that were close to the field. your friend was already screaming and the players were just warming up. you were watching them with an uninterested stare, your chin resting on your palm. your eyes accidentally always end up looking at karasu and you didn't even know why. it made you scoff at yourself.

"hey." a voice next to you said and you looked at them. it was one of the "enemy" players. he smirked at you and kept on talking. "if i win this match, would'ja give me your number?"

you chuckled at the audacity of the boy standing next to you. while you were glancing at your friend – who seemed to be wanting to tell the guy to leave –, you accidentally noticed that tabito was looking your way with furrowed eyebrows and a big scowl in his face. you turned to the guy again and nodded.

"sure." you smiled sweetly. "only if you win thought!"

the boy nodded and walked away, a confident smile on his face. almost immediately after he left, a loud voice that you knew very well called out your name.

"what ta fuck did he wanted?" karasu asked, not even bothering to lower his voice.

"he asked if he could get my number if he wins." you bluntly answered, making your friend giggle a little at the small bickering that was forming between you and the boy.

to your surprise, he just clicked his tongue and walked away, mumbling something under his breath. you tried to ignore the weird feeling that started to build up on your chest as you stared at karasu. his expression seemed to get more focused now, as if he was actually motivated to win. and well... he was motivated to win. karasu seemed like a whole another guy during the match. he was ruthless and strong, he practically did all the goals in the match and he would always do a goal and look at you. everytime your eyes met, his jaw would clench softly and you could see his nostrils flare a little before he looked away. he looked almost... jealous?

after the match ended, the olayer that previously wanted your number was walking towards you, but karasu beat him to it and grabbed your wrist, dragging you away. you started to complain and struggle, but karasu ignored you, just kept on pulling you inside one of the empty halls of your school. after he made sure you two were alone, he let you go and cornered you against the wall.

"ya won't flirt with anyone else, ya hear me?" he murmured, his usual smirk wasn't on his lips. "tch, that guy pissed 'ta shit out of me."

"why?" you asked, scoffing softly. you tried to push him away, but he didn't move. "why you won't let me do whatever i want to?"

"i like ya." your eyes went wide at his sudden confession. "i like more to bother you, but i still have feelings for ya."

you were speechless. did he bothered you all this time, did he made you hate him because he liked you? you wanted to laugh at his face, but you couldn't say anything over the noise of your heart beating fastly on your heart. after you kept quiet, just staring at him with wide eyes, karasu smirked. he pressed a kiss on the tip of your nose and started to walk in the direction of the showers.

"imma take ya out later, m'kay? ya better be ready."

yeah, you still hated him, but... he could become bearable.

Arguements are normal in relationships. But when he gets way too heated to the point of hurting you—to the point where one could say they went too far, how does he act?

It's been how many minutes since the arguement had started, maybe you had spent a hundred minutes shouting at the top of your lungs, a few couple tears shed in the proccess. But no matter how long, it was clear that neither sides had plans to step down. The original topic by now, was long forgotten as harmful insults directed to one's insecurities were thrown haphzardly; carelessly reloading and shooting the bullet all over the place, desperate to hurt the other person even if only a little. Neither backs off, eager to clear their name, even if it meant harming the other's ego. And amidst the chaos that you and your dereast lover found yourselves in; Kaiser raises his arm, and he swings it—far enough to reach your cheeks and hurt it just enough.

Slap!

The sound resounds throughout the living room, and it grows deathly silent— the kind of silence where only the ragged breathing from the hours of shouting could be heard. A second, and then a minute passes, you cradle your now reddish cheek with tremblig hands as you shakily look up at Kaiser. And there, on his face, laid a fury that boiled his head and turned him to be someone unrecognizable. It hurts, you think ,thrice as much knowing that the look of fury, was directed at you.

The first of teardrops spills from your eyes and wets the ground underneath. The liquid clouds your vision, and you think you're partly greatful for it. Because then, you wouldn't have to see the way he looks at you with anger like no other. You look down, trying to calm down your shallow breaths, and as a result, you don't notice the way Kaiser looks the moment he clears his head atleast a little bit.

The feeling of his hand hitting something—or in this case, someone, is still apparent on his hand. He takes a few deep breaths, taking the chance to calm down and clear his head now that the quiet had arrived. From then on, he finally registers the way his hand is numb, and the small, yet not completely silent sobbing he hears from infront of him.

A horrified look takes form on his face when he finally puts the two and two together.

Oh, oh my god.

"I—mein schatz—I-I'm sorry" he stutters, stepping forward to come closer, but he freezes in place when he sees you flinch and cower away.

His heart shatters when he sees how you react, the trust you've placed in him just hours ago now all but gone as he went and did what he promised he won't.

Shit, he inwardly curses. He's really done it now hasn't he?

He kneels, down on his knees as he hugs your legs. "Mein schatz I'm sorry I-I don't know what came over me. M' sorry love please please forgive me" he pleads, begging for forgiveness, and it's funny. How easily he's doing the one thing he thought was an impossible task just hours ago. He would have done this earlier had he known this'd be the outcome of his stubborness.

Kaiser trembles—the first in years as he fears the growing possibility of you leaving him. His apologies are rushed and messy, but sincere nonetheless. Kaiser kneels, begging for forgiveness like a sinner who's done the most heinous crime—and maybe it isn't inacurrate. Because to have the nerve to actually hurt you, the one sent by the gods solely for him, was a crime punishable by death.

Kaiser pleads for forgiveness, but he doesn't expect you to accept them. Only that you'd stop your cries that he himself had caused. Because he thinks—firmly believes that you shouldn't waste your tears for sinners like him; for someone like him.

It's unreal, how easily he's forgotten his ego when it comes to you. But he thinks it's perfectly valid. Because while he is the king, you are the angel he seeks comfort and power of, the one whom he takes his strength from. And now, because of his painfully human parts, he's gone and hurt the one person he's held dear.

Kaiser begs for you to stop crying, to do nothing but rest as he picks up the broken shards of trust, to stay with him—as greedy as that might be—as he clumsily tries to put it all back together. You needn't waste your tears, nor should you trouble yourself with trying to put it all back, because he'll do it himself, for it was him that broke it—and thus, it should be him that fixes it too.

he stood in the flower shop. a stranger in a strange land. michael kaiser had never bought flowers for a partner before; it felt strange and unfamiliar. looking around, unsure of what to do, he felt like an intruder. like he wasn't supposed to be there. like he didn't belong.

he felt the eyes of the shopkeeper upon him, judging him, and he felt a sudden wave of anxiety veil over his being.

it was the time of year when the flowers were in full bloom. the air was filled with the sweet scent of roses, and the streets were lined with colourful bouquets of daisies and lilies. he felt it was his duty to buy you flowers since having first heard your fondness for the delicate bloom. so why did it feel disingenuous to be standing here in middle of all the beautifully cut and arranged flowers in pretty pots waiting to be taken home to you?

"how may i help you sir?"

it was the same shopkeeper who had been inspecting him with a look of disgust or disapproval. which one it was, kaiser didn't know. but he didn't really care

"yes actually. i'm looking for flowers to get for my partner."

"a partner...so what are their favourite flowers?"

"i'm not entirely sure."

"you're not sure." he sounded so utterly disinterested it almost offended kaiser. "favourite colour perhaps?"

it finally struck him. he didn't deserve to be your romantic partner at all. he had no idea how to make a romantic gesture, how to express his feelings in a way that would be meaningful to his beloved. kaiser felt like a clumsy child, unable to speak matters of heart. but then again, even children knew their crush's favourite colour.

"see, we don't really talk about that..."

"it really isn't my place to comment...but, perhaps seek out a relationship therapist rather than just buying flowers as an apology."

how dare he? kaiser didn't need some stupid flower shop to get flowers. he didn't need this treatment. he didn't deserve it.

"as you said, it's not your place to comment."

kaiser still felt unfamiliar and like an intruder, the only difference was that he didn't care to fit in anymore. so he left. the only problem that now remained was getting you those flowers.

it wasn't long before he found himself in front of a gaping meadow. the meadow was a vision of beauty, a tapestry of colour and texture, a dreamscape of wildflowers. while the sun shone down from a cloudless sky, the air was alive with the scent of spring and kaiser felt like he was about to drift away. the grass was a lush, vibrant green, and the flowers were a riot of pinks and purples, yellows and blues. a breathtaking harmony of nature's bounty.

perfect for you.

the figure of a man, moved slowly through the meadow, his gaze intent on the flowers that surrounded him. he was picking them, one by one, carefully selecting the most beautiful blooms and holding them in his hand gently. he imagined how you would react. a bright smile for sure, he couldn't wait for that smile. like a ray of sunshine, illuminating the room with its warmth and beauty.

in fact, when he gave you those same flowers, some with their roots still sticking out, dirt under his nails, you smiled. oh you smiled so so brightly, if the sun was still out your smile would've been a fair competitor.

"for me?"

"who else?" he said sheepishly, holding the flowers out to you while looking away. it was quite unnatural for you to see him like this, but you didn't mind really.

"why would you pick them yourself? there are are flower shops for a reason..."

"i didn't like any of the flower arrangements there."

"oh yeah? so what makes your flower arrangement better." you teased. you knew he hadn't thought that hard about it but you were curious to see what he'd come up with on the spot.

"the smoothness of the petals remind me of your soft skin, under my touch–"

"is that so?" you couldn't help giggling, he looked so passionate about it, it felt unreal.

"shh i have more to say. the sweet fragrance of the blooms reminds me of your sweet smiles." he was getting closer to you now, pulling you in by the waist. he didn't even have to whisper for you to hear him.

"shut up." your body shaking with laughter, you could feel a blush burning your cheeks.

"i was reminded of the way you laugh, your head thrown back and eyes sparkling with joy, when i saw the way the petals seemed to dance in the breeze."

he leaned in, lips brushing against yours in a series of small kisses. you giggled, eyes twinkling with delight just as he had said, and you couldn't help but smile. you stayed like that for a moment, lips barely touching, and then you both burst into laughter.

the air was filled with a playful energy, and you were glad you had him with you here, close and warm. you stayed like that for what seemed like an eternity, bodies intertwined in a passionate embrace, and you knew that you had found your home.
