This has been visiting my head without paying the fair for the past years and I finally decided to look it up after that fateful screenshot
and then romeo-kun and juliet-chan inevitably committed the seppuku
there’s something strangely gutwrenching about the solstice having already passed. there have been minor changes in the “side adventures” of the trio.
they know they’re entering medusa’s house. they go to the arch for sanctuary against echidna and chimera. they go to waterland to help ares and convince hephaestus to stop being like his family. they go to the lotus hotel to get help from hermes.
in the books they’re getting tricked and distracted and losing all of that time on their quest was an accident. but they still made it in the end.
but in the show? they did everything right. they were aware of where they were at all times. but then they go and ask for help.
they try to ask for athena’s help and she lets monsters into her temple because they “embarrassed her.” they try to ask for hermes’ help but he doesn’t tell them until it’s too late that the lotus hotel messes with time.
they basically did everything right on their quest only for their biggest failures to occur because of the gods.
but poseidon gives him four pearls. four, instead of three. one for sally too. but we already know that she gets left behind.
they tried so hard only for the deadline to lapse.
Nope. James doesn't pale in comparison at all, maybe with Hagrid, but not with Remus it'd be 63-37 at best with Remus, after all, Remus couldn't be there for Harry much either.
I mean, almost all his school life, Harry felt like Snape actively hated him, so his being there from when he was 11 onwards is really not anything compared to feeling even liked or supported, of not loved, by both Remus and Sirius from 13 and onwards.
People get mad that Harry named his son after Severus. However I’m leaning more towards the fact that Snape did the most thankless job even after being mistreated all of his life by the people he was saving and working with and the only thanks he gets- the only time anyone has decided to remember a single thing he did- it’s when Harry is naming his spawn.
Severus is not even the spawn’s first name, it’s his second name. Oh yeah and he threw in some half-baked dialogue about how Severus was brave. Wow truly what a fucking treat, what an homage.
And people are complaining that he didn’t name his kid after Hargid (or Lupin I don’t think which is pretty sad and also thankless). And I agree, but instead of switching out Severus’s name, take out James’s.
He named one of his kids James Sirius Potter (which is just so cringe) and like my question is why? Sirius is perfectly understandable but why James? James has done absolutely nothing-and I mean-NOTHING for Harry apart from get compared to him and has basically acted as a sperm donor to Harry. No- not a father, because being a father actually requires raising ur kid- no James’s only merit is that he had a wizard messiah in his ballsack. Brilliant.

No, but another thing about this show that is so off from the books but we love it is how much Percy actually knows about the Greek stories. Like, yes, our Goddes Sally Jackson taught him, she prepared in the only ways she could. Like, ik in the books he was all like "Huh?" Or "What?" about what had happened (and if he wasn't then the Fandom has rendered my mind usless and I no longer have the ability to differentiate fanfics and canon) but yes.
No, actually. Nico was into it when they had just met too. Meaning, he liked Mythomagic way before he met Grover, both to him and chronologically
wait a fucking second are you telling me that grover got both percy and nico into mythomagic so that they'd be familiar with the gods and heroes and monsters they'd be hearing about for the rest of their lives???? is mythomagic a standard part of satyr protection protocol??????
walker said when he read the books he didn’t realize percy and annabeth were romantic until they kissed in book 4 and i think that is so on brand since percy didn’t either 😭
I think that Dionysius and the other gods should put more respect on Sally Jackson’s name considering she, a mere mortal, can command the sea with as little as the scraps of a hot fudge sundae
hazel defender for life btw
Marauders fandom really just said fuck canon
"Was that sarcasm, Fai Zhang?"
"Yes, Grandmother."
"Good, there may be hope for you yet"
absolutely underrated moment right there
