Best Thing Since Sliced Bread

I really enjoyed the researching aspect of this project, however I struggled with being strict and selective with what I wanted to communicate in the final outcome. My plan was to make an interactive book showing the properties of tape without being obvious... which then turned into an interactive roll.... which then ended up showing the ‘origin story’ of each type of tape. I feel as though I just wasn’t clear enough with what I wanted to communicate, which is reflected in my final outcome. I’m determined to develop on what I have already done and create a sufficient outcome which clearly communicates the properties of tape.

In this episode of middle ground by Jubilee, loved ones and addicts.

Before watching this, I saw addiction as a selfish, solitary disease, however after watching it made me realise that it effects the ones around you just as much, arguably even more than the person battling with the addiction.

As someone who has no experience with either side, I found the fact that they all agreed with the statement ‘cutting ties with a loved one with addiction is ok.’ the most surprising because for some reason I have always thought that having some sort of support system was the most important thing in any healing process. However now I am realising how naïve that sounds. As said in the video, in some scenarios, cutting ties is necessary when the relationship becomes draining and toxic, and it also serves as a sort of wake up call to the addict. But what if this doesn’t work and it just further isolates the individual to the point where they fall deeper into their addiction.

How plants self heal
Many animals and plants regenerate tissues or even whole organs after injury. Typically, specialized cells at the wound site revert to a ‘pluripotent’ state–via a process called dedifferentiation—which means they regain the ability to develop into the various cell types required for regeneration. The dedifferentiated cells rapidly divide to form a callus from which the damaged tissue or organ will regenerate. Now, a research team from the RIKEN Plant Science Center in Yokohama has identified a master regulator of the response of plants to injury.

Music Seems To Be Intrinsic To Humans. Go To Any Culture In The World And You Will Find Some Form Of

Music seems to be intrinsic to humans. Go to any culture in the world and you will find some form of it. Music is almost like a language, which can be understood by anyone.

When listening to music, the rhythm, melody, and beat will put your brain wave patterns into a better state. Music increases dopamine production, as well as serotonin.

Music also creates new connections on the brain due to the complexity of it. Music cab and will leave an impression on the brain. Especially music with words, as because of the pattern of wording, it can influence thinking patterns.

I think music puts the brain into a unique state, and can be considered exercise for the brain. Listening to music frequently can create complex patterns in the brain, leading to creative thinking.
