Okay, this has been nagging at me since Season 3. I know having the first person the audience sees Fyodor kill be a slave kid named Karma is significant, but I'm not sure in what way. BSD has had a lot of throwaway characters, but they never put that much emphasis on one. Hell, Coffee Shop Dude has been seen multiple times and has ties to the main cast, and I don't think we even have a name for him. (Side note: according to the wiki, the waitress Dazai flirts with is named Belladonna. Puts a whole new meaning to "flirting with death.") But Karma gets a distinct look, full backstory, and a name even though you could've replaced him with a faceless grunt, and nothing about Fyodor and Ace's interaction would have changed.
It could've just been foreshadowing for Fyodor's actual ability. However, it seems a bit over the top to be that. Especially when the hint in Dead Apple is executed so well in such a short scene. Pluse, the writer and artist of BSD knows how to plant things in advance. The artist noted that Tachihara being a hunting dog is revealed in his clothing because he's the only one wearing the green that's on the hunting dogs uniform (in the manga) instead of the Mafia's red/black motif. And how long did that reveal take?
The random POV change to a throwaway character is just weird, too. As a writer and editor, it doesn't make any sense. There's no payoff. He's not tied to the main cast. It would've been more impactful to the audience if it were a character we already knew. And I doubt Fyodor cares or even remembers the kid.
I know that whole interaction was cooking something, but I don't know what, and it's bothering me.
Thank you for your time.
I think the only reason we don't see Dazai using a gun at the Armed Detective Agency is because they refuse to give his suicidal ass access to one. We know he had no qualms about using one, so that's the only reasonable reason I can think of as to why he wouldn't have one.
Hypothetically, if Fyodor took over Chuuya’s body, would Arahabaki go nuclear? It's implied in Stormbringer that Arahabaki is only dormant because his vessel is Chuuya specifically. And we know Chuuya only has some access to Arahabaki’s power since he doesn't have the black flames or turn into a monster like Verlaine did with Guivre. So, would Fyodor be able to restrain the god? Or would he instantly go into corruption mode?
On that note, would he be able to take over Lovecraft since it's implied he's not human and even Dazai couldn't nullify him?
Ya know, at this point in the manga, Khun should really just put a tracker on Baam. A microchip, some sort of piercing or jewelry that most people wouldn't think to remove. He gets kidnapped, separated, hijacked? No sweat, two seconds, got him.
I don't condone tracking people, but it's a safety precaution at this point in the story. Lol
Bram: I finally have my body back!
Fyodor:
One thing I find hilarious in Tower of God is that our first real look at Zahard and V are so vastly different. They're both images from when they were younger (Zahard via his data doppelganger in s2e284 and V from Traumerei's flashback in s3e213). But like, this is their first full reveal side by side.
I know other images of Zahard do have him looking a lot better than this initial one, but like V's initial image is literally a thirst trap. Like, I'm ace, and even I can get why Arlene would be more attracted to V than Zahard. That race was kinda finished before it started if you get what I mean.
On another note, was it really necessary for that to be our first look at Baam’s father, SIU? Was it really?
The first time I saw this when I watched the anime I straight up was like, "Okay, they have that type of friendship." It reads like an inside joke to me. Like they're referencing something from when they worked together, and it just became a running joke that no one else would probably understand.
Bones robbed us of Dazai literally laughing out loud at Chuuya's rich girl act.
Chuuya had one hell of a year when he was sixteen. I mean, first he lost the Flags and found out he was used as an experiment and everything else that was Stormbringer then a within a few months after that the whole Dragon's Head fiasco happened, which was probably the second time he used Corruption. The dude could not catch a break.
Neil is the epitome of that "god has let me live another day and I'm about to make it everybody's problem" meme.
Season 4 of Tower of God will be interesting as far as lore building goes. Because Baam's been told about his parents multiple times. Data Edahn specifically told him about V. Cha told him about Arlene. And while Data Edahn probably only knew early V, Cha would've known Arlene (or heard of her) during the Great War. Baam has an idea as to who his parents are. What kind of people they were. So, I'm wondering how much of his interactions with V is going to contradict/reinforce the image Baam has of them in his head.
I love how much we made fun of Andrew letting The Gay make decisions and then we got Jean's pov.
She/They The account I can talk about fan stuff on. I also post fanfics on AO3 by the same username.
