New zolu headcanon: Zoro is in love with Luffy(romantically) but isn't interested in taking it anywhere, so he just assumes Luffy feels the same as he does.

Meanwhile, Luffy just loves Zoro in the same platonic/familial grey area way that he loves the rest of his crew.

This goes on for decades while the rest of the crew makes increasingly ludicrous bets on how long it will be until Zoro takes the hint.
