Here’s my personal idea of Sun Wukong! The design is almost 100% subject to change as I dig up for details on his description and mess around with colours, but for now, monke.

Small thingies:

- His appearance is a loose mix between a rhesus macaque (which he is highly theorized to appear as) and a baby langur (because blorboification)

- I’m taking “Intelligent Stone Monkey” seriously here; he is a stoney boy

- He’s specifically a geode, meaning that being broken reveals rubies and gold underneath! (“What about those scenes that vividly describe his blood and organs?” Uhhh illusion magic/72 transformations next question)

- He is still a short kingtm

- The cloud-walking boots are fluffy because I say so

As said before, this is my personal interpretation of his appearance within the novel. If you have a different idea, that’s neat! I’d love to compare murderous fellas. Unless I’m genuinely portraying him harmfully, let’s all just have a good ole time :]

How do you draw hands

You use a reference and learn the anatomy. I don’t really stylize the way I draw hands, so I don’t have a specific way to draw them besides just drawing my own hand for certain poses.

it’s sooo funny when rude customers encounter employees who can deny them service for the first time.

i was working at a little cafe where I could deny service over bad behavior, harassment etc. & mask mandates had just ended a week before & already people were being weird about me still wearing mine—an N95, the kind shaped kinda like a duckbill.

so this man walked in, looked at me sooo scathingly, laughed at me, and said “damn. never known a woman to choose…practicality over looks.”

And I just said, “oh. you can go, you’re not getting a drink.” And he said, “what???”

I said, “sir, you just walked in at 6 am & called women impractical and me ugly in one sentence.”

And he was so astonished he didn’t even argue he just turned around and left 💀🙏🏻 it was like he suddenly became self aware

I’ve been looking through your art tutorials and my gosh they are so amazing because they really taught me a lot !!! I appreciate them and your artwork !! Anyways, I have a question: How do you draw hair? How can you make it not so stiff; like the wind is blowing or youre putting it into a ponytail?

Art tip: Make the thing you least enjoy drawing the most interesting and fun part to create, everything gets easier from there

I love, love, love drawing hair. Specifically extremely curly hair. I myself don’t have curly hair, but I’ve always loved how it looks. Even when I draw characters with assumed straight hair (Red Son, MK, Link, Mei, all those guys) I make their hair very wavy, as if water is constantly moving through it. Now, hold onto your hats, but my style of drawing hair comes from many, many, many different sources. Down below are just the most accurate ones I could find in my photos alone through all my references.

Do not, I repeat, do NOT DRAW YOUR STYLE FROM A SINGLE SOURCE. Your art will become as stagnant as a puddle of water in a forest. You will get bored and burnt out. With me, scrolling through all my favorite art, making references with my own body, taking photos and researching what I need to add into my work to bring more life to it, keeps my work smooth and my artistic mind happy and stimulated. This is where the drawing part actually begins.

Reminder that hair doesn't come out of a single point from your head. Hair grows out of your WHOLE HEAD, not just the, uuhhh, whatever the fuck that little spiral thing in your hair is called. I make my hair layered and choppy to show as much density and weight as possible
