Being Productive Is Not About Fancy Bullet Journals Or Well-thought Out Plans Or Meditating Every Morning!!

being productive is not about fancy bullet journals or well-thought out plans or meditating every morning!! while they mean well, posts/videos about ‘maximising’ productivity often make us feel inadequate, or like if we’re not doing our best then we’re not doing enough. don’t complicate things. it’s OKAY to just have one or two tasks on your to-do list, to study in your pyjamas, to only feel up to doing a couple hours of work a day. you don’t have to make green smoothies or have neat handwriting or workout every morning. scribble those notes if you need to. it’s okay to just grab some toast when you don’t feel up to much. it’s okay to not do everything you told yourself you would do, like that run you planned or reading that book. life doesn’t have to be this hard. if you get overwhelmed by this, set yourself a small list of achievable goals for the day. it may seem simple. good. that’s what you need. don’t beat yourself up for not being perfect. you are okay.

you are okay.

I can't wait to do this when I'm a doctor!!

Doctors should snark at each other more, be a bit mean. Not for no reason, mind you. But if five doctors blow me off about symptoms and doctor number six FINALLY runs actual tests and gets a diagnosis, I think it should be Doctor Six's right to call up the other five and tell them they're lazy pieces of shit. That should be socially encouraged. Those first five doctors clearly can't listen to patients, but maybe another doctor might finally get to them.

sometimes I’m hardcore and numb and can deal with being in pain for the rest of my life and other times I cry at just a slight thought in that direction and I wish I could be strong all of the time for everyone around me but sometimes I’m just REALLY really overwhelmed by the moment I’m experiencing and that is compounded a million times over by the fact that this is the rest of my life

I feel like some of my fellow students in med school could stand to read this. And by "some" I mean most and by "students" I actually mean the able-bodied students, which seems like everyone but me, but I could be wrong.

daily reminder to able bodied folks,

disabled people don't owe you their story or their medical diagnoses.

disabled people dont owe you education on their disability.

disabled people don't owe you justification that they are disabled.

this... this is actually really helpful

notes for my impostor syndrome:

• no, it's not painful to walk for abled-bodied people

• no, healthy people don't usually use every chance they get to lean against walls or sit down

• no, ableds don't dream about shower stool

• no, ableds don't celebrate days when they're not in pain. because usually they're not in pain

• no, ableds don't want to stop walking mid-way, lay down on the ground, curl up and cry and whine from pain

• no, ableds aren't exhausted by their own bodies 24/7

Why Does Fibromyalgia Weaken the Immune System? - Southern Pain and Neurological

Why Does Fibromyalgia Weaken the Immune System? - Southern Pain and Neurological
Southern Pain and Neurological
Various reports have proven that fibromyalgia does indeed weaken our immune system and raise levels of white blood cells.

-

Firstly, studies have shown that fibromyalgia patients tend to have high counts of white blood cells and cytokines (immune cells), which is often observed when a patient is suffering from an infection. This in itself shows that this condition affects an individual’s immune system.

Similarly, further studies show that this disorder weakens our brain’s immune system. It does this by reducing the blood flow in the brain’s pain center, hence affecting the neuron receptors. This eventually leads to increased pain and stress levels and a weak immune system that is incapable of fighting off bacteria.
