"boringly abled" omg this is amazing
Things to start calling allistic people IMMEDIATELY:
people with allism
people suffering from allism
people trapped in allistic bodies
low-functioning allistics
the boringly abled

I've got this Idea for a Shaun Murphy x reader or x oc or something like that fic, which is basically a good doctor lie to me crossover, where the reader works at the lightman group or at least, can read micro-expressions and that stuff and they somehow meet and become friends and maybe fall in love. I think it would be really interesting because he doesn't really see or understand facial expressions but the other person is so aware of them all the time. I'm not good at writing in English but I might someday write it anyways. So if someone wants to write this or has written something like that pls tell me.
Other people want Doctor Who to go back to it's roots by having the Doctor be a white man. I want Doctor Who to go back to it's roots by having the Doctor tell a Dalek to kill itself. We are not the same.
Quick reminder that the Ronald Howard Holmes adaption from 1954 has a gasogene
i'm really tempted to make a post on the gasogene in 221B that's mentioned like once in the novels because i think they were funny as fuck for drinking sparkling water together in the most dangerous way possible
Ah yes Dr. McCoy as you both know.

Ok so, while I agree with you that aspec people are not systemically oppressed like for example lesbians or gay people. My point was, that apparently, to be part of the LGBTQIA+ community you need to be oppressed. But just because we aren't oppressed by any law, doesn't mean aspec people don't face hate a.k.a aphobia.
I'm not out to a lot of people (I'm ace and probably biromantic), actually I only told one of my friends that I was ace, and she straight up said, she didn't believe me. She said asexuality doesn't exist.
We are told that our sexuality, the way feel is not real or that there is something wrong with us. I'm not out to my family, but I talked to my mother about some things to find out what her opinion is on asexuality. She said that a relationship without sex can't exist and that there is no other reason for relationships other than sex. Aspec people are told their whole lives, that the way they want to experience love and affection doesn't exist or is wrong. Looking at that it seems like our experience with this is quite similar to other members of the LGBTQ+ community. So while we are not systemically oppressed our experience and the social challenges we face are very similar to LGBT challenges.
Also, yes allies are supporters but they are not part of the community, they support the community. Because you mentioned blm, white allies are welcome in black spaces but aren't part of the black community as far as I know. The same goes for straight allies. They are welcome in LGBTQIA+ spaces but aren't part of the community. Yes, straight aces are still cishet, I never said it was different. What I was trying to say was, people exclude aspec people for being cishet and then include straight allies who are also cishet. Still, straight aces are not heterosexual, since they are ace and therefore differ from the heteronormative.
This is my opinion, I hope this was enough information so that you can explain yours now.
You say aspec people don't belong in the LGBTQIA+ community because we are are "not oppressed enough" or "basically straight" but then proceed to say that the A in LGBTQIA+ stands for ally. Like WTF?! Allys most of the time are cishet people. They are straight, they aren't oppressed based on their sexuality in any way and you say they are part of the community and we aren't?! Please explain I don't get it.
Shipping is fun and all but I swear every single time someone makes a comment, whether as a joke or in a legitimate analysis, about there being "no other explanation" for a pair's interactions, I lose just a bit more of my sanity
Like, no, you guys don't get it. Romance is not about the Amount of devotion, it's about the COLOR. the FLAVOR of it all. a character can be just as devoted to their platonic friend as they are to their romantic partner, and they don't love either of them more, just differently.
But because the majority of people still have it stuck in their minds that romance exists on the highest tier of love, I'm stuck seeing endless takes that boil down to "these two care about each other too much for it to NOT be romantic" as if that's the core determining factor to how literally any of this works
In conclusion: stop telling me that I don't understand the story if I don't interpret the leads as romantic, I am TIRED
