Ok hear me out: James T. Kirk.
I know that he's like THE famous womanizer and all, BUT does he have sex with these women? I remember an old blog post somewhere (not Tumblr) that kept track of every situation where it was possible/plausible for Kirk to have sex in whole TOS and it was VERY little. He flirts with everyone, sometimes out of genuine interest, sometimes to reach his goals, but it's flirting and kissing and so on. It's romantic. And with the women he is genuinely interested in he often ends up actually sad and heartbroken when in the end something happens to them or he has to leave. So I'd say it is pretty obvious that he feels romanticly attracted towards, well basically everyone in his vicinity, but we have actually no proof that he does feel sexual attraction. Soooo Jim Kirk is asexual.
Star Trek characters who are on the asexual and/or aromantic spectrums but who are not Vulcans, androids, or holograms. I'll start. Jean-Luc Picard :)
also the horrible sensation of your nails being filed (don't know if that's the correct word)
(Add yours in the comments)
Pre-visit:
having to make a phone call to arrange an appointment
actually getting there on time
During visit:
having nothing in common with your servicer, so you just awkwardly spent the whole time in silence
your cuticles bleeding because they file too close to your sensitive skin
the burning sensation the first time your nails enter the UV lamp after gel application
not able to stim or fidget cause your hands are always occupied
Post visit:
that one nail that looks a little asymmetrical than the rest of the nails š„²
I have this vision of Holmes getting sick or injured while out investigating, idk, anything that puts him into a vulnerable position really. But he will politely but very sternly prohibit anyone from fussing, or helping or touching him, insisting they GET WATSON, and that's his last word on it. And when Watson finally arrives, Holmes all but melts into his care, and Lestrade realises a) oh Mr Holmes was really not feeling great and b) those two have something really special going on
CBSā Elementary is everything to me.
Between the āi made you breakfastā and the āiāll see you at homeā and the āwhen was the last time you slept?ā and the āi know you didnāt eat so i brought you your leftoversā and clyde going from āpet tortoiseā to āour pet tortoiseā and the āweāre two people who love each otherā ā¦
They are individuals in their own right and yet depend on each other so deeply, but itās not co-dependency, they actively choose each other everyday all the time. They are two halves of a whole but they are not incomplete as individuals, rather they lift each other up. Itās so nice to see a holmes/watson relationship thatās so unproblematic and wholesome and loving. I love this adaptation. I just love them.
These are amazing!!!
I draw some banners for Asexual Pride.

out of curiosity what's the legal age for buying/ drinking alcohol in your country?
Can we talk about Elementary for a moment? Because this show is so fucking amazing I canāt. The premise is questionable, to say the least. āWeāre gonna make a Sherlock Holmes adaption. But what if John is a woman called Joan and what if she is American? Oh and the whole thing is set in New York.ā
Best start for a horrible American washed gender swap romance adaption but nothing could be further from the truth. Usually when the gender of a character is changed from canon it is to push some strange heteronormative romance sub plot but NO not Elementary.
The PLATONIC relationship between Joan and Sherlock is so amazingly done. It is the best portrayal of a QPR (queerplatonic relationship) I have ever seen in media. And even if we donāt take qprs into account we see a rich, deep, trusting friendship full of so much love. Elementary had the guts to use the word love in a platonic way, something other Sherlock Holmes adaptions (Iām looking at you BBC) never dared to do. And this in a show where Holmes and Watson are opposite genders, so the association with romance is done even quicker. Meanwhile, we watch Watson struggle with traditional dating and amatonormativity until she finally finds happiness in her platonic partnership with Sherlock and later as a single mum.
Elementary is also the only adaption Iāve seen that really explores Holmes's addiction. Usually, even in ACD canon, his drug addiction is treated as some personality quirk. An annoying habit but nothing more. But that is not how addiction works. Especially not with hard drugs like morphine and cocaine if we look at Canon or heroin in case of BBC and Elementary. Elementary puts great focus on Sherlock's long, presumably lifelong struggle with addiction and the great strength and effort it takes for him to stay clean. It emphasizes his need for a stable support system and doesnāt downplay addiction like a lot of Sherlock Holmes adaptions do. This is amazing.
Another great thing is the casualness of how queer people are incorporated into the story. They are just there. Their queerness isnāt the focus of their story, it is just part of who they are. Mrs. Hutson is trans but the focus is on the many influential men she has had affairs with. Victims are queer. Suspects are queer. Police are queer. Queer people just exist in this show without making it a big deal.
Even tho it isn't a perfect ACD Holmes adaption especially if we look at Sherlock's character I love this show so much.

I propose: A raccoon!
Anyone who says Sherlock Holmes would be a cat is wrong. He is not. That man is the most dog-coded anyone can get. Watson literally describes him as a golden retriever in The Adventure of the Dancing Men. If anything, Watson is the cat of the duo.
Edit: me when Iām called out by sherlock is a cat blogs š. he does have cat traits lol but the amount of times Iām reading acd and Iām reminded of dogs I know-
Oh but my ADHD does care. If I donāt get it right on the first round I will never get back to it. In fact if I donāt finish the whole chapter/one shot in one sitting it will never be finished. If I abandon it once my lack of executive function will not allow my to rework/ continue it without immense agony, so it will wither in my drafts forever. So I in fact do have to sit there for 6h+ to finish that work in one sitting for me to ever be able to show it to the world.
stop trying to make your draft perfect on the first try. your characters donāt care. your plot doesnāt care. even the imaginary readers in your head donāt care because they donāt exist yet. just write the terrible version. write the cringey dialogue and the scenes that go nowhere and the metaphors so bad they make you cringe into next week. because guess what? you canāt edit a blank page, but you can edit a hot mess. embrace it.
