Today was the day you had decided to come out as a trans man to Bad Omens. When Folio said “we”, you quickly looked around and saw that everyone was here, looking at you. You run your hand on your face and send them an apologetic smile.

            They all nod their head; Folio’s finger was still tracing random shapes on your knee while Jolly and Nick came to sit closer to you as well on the other sofa. Their presences were not pressing which eased you a bit. Exhaling nervously, you looked down and blurted out:

You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. The silence you received from them made you start to overthink again. Did I say it too quickly? Are they gonna accept me? Of course, they’re gonna accept it… and again, and again. Lost in your own thoughts, you were still not facing them. “And it’s not going to change anything between all of us. You are one of the most amazing persons we’ve met and you’re literally our best friend! We could never hate you; we like you too much for that.”

            Nick smiled softly at you after his little speech which immediately brought out the tears you had been trying to hold back all along. They slowly rolled on your cheeks while you mouthed a ‘thank you’ to all of them. Jolly stood up, went behind the couch and ruffled your hair affectionately, it felt nice, making you lean into this comfortable feeling.

“So, what’s your name?” – Jolly

“Oh yeah, so we don’t deadname you anymore, sorry about that by the way…” – say Folio sheepishly.

            Sitting up, you shook your head at him. You didn’t want them to feel any guilt about this, it was not their fault that you did not tell them sooner, it would not be fair.

“Don’t apologize, you didn’t know so it’s not your fault. I’m not angry or mad or anything. I should have said something sooner.” You sniffed, trying to stop the tears. Noah saw it and quickly left, only to come back with a box of tissues a few seconds later. “My name is Y/N, if you could use it…”

“Let’s welcome you properly! Group hug!” – Folio

            After this moment, they did everything they could to help you during tour and in general in your daily life. Supporting you in every step of your transition and cheering when you got your first shot of testosterone. You couldn’t find words to express how grateful you were to be friends with all those amazing people… And indeed, they were pretty menacing when someone gave you shit about your gender.
