HAZARD | Overwatch 2
Hello! Can i request blackwatch genji going on a mission and sees his female s/o that he was with before everything happened with hanzo? Just a bunch of angst would be great. 😁😂
Oh my word, Nonnie, my mind went directly to this and oh man I hope it’s good! (okay, not DIRECT directly, there are two versions of the opening lol) Also, I’m just going to admit now that I have no idea how black ops works, sorry if it’s so far out of place that it’s distracting.
Warning: artistic liberties, angst, and blood
The moon shone bright above, stars snuffed out due to light pollution. The skies were clear and the warm breeze was soft and lush. Any other night, this would have been downright relaxing. But tonight, it was a false sense of security.
Things had been pretty silent for the past twenty minutes or so, but Genji knew hacked Omnics were in the area. The trail of mangled steel he left in his wake was proof enough. He watched the street from above, broken windows greeted him with the sound of paper skittering across pavement. Smoke billowed from shops and apartments, their alarms calling for firefighters that weren’t coming. It was a scene that was all too familiar.
He was distantly aware of the chatter in his ear. A proper Overwatch team was on the way to aid the situation, but they were still a good ten minutes out.
He bounded to the next building and listened. Again, he heard nothing. Whatever was out there was hiding. And it was hiding well.
Just as he was about to move, a flash of light caught his eye. He blinked and looked across the street at the apartment building. There, in a window on the fourth floor, a flashlight blinked on and off in short bursts. Genji glared and watched the light, ready to spring away if needed.
The flashlight went off and a tiny green beam, like that of a laser pointer, pierced the air. The haze of smoke showed the green line as it pointed down the street. He understood instantly. Whoever was in that apartment was trying to warn him.
Heavy footfalls echoed off the street, obscured by smoke and fire, and the laser flickered off. An Omnic the size of a car trudged down the street, looking for a sign of life with that little green light.
Genji backed away from the edge, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Something fell and shattered across the street. In the apartment.
“Shit.”
The Omnic turned to the building, guns aimed directly at his helper’s window. The guns whirred to life, tearing into the bricks. Without a second thought, Genji unsheathed his sword and dove off the roof. His blade sank into the metal, sending sparks flying as he twisted it through the Omnic, destroying it.
It teetered and sank to the side, the lights on its body going out as it died.
Genji looked up at the crumbling wall of the apartment and sprang up to the window. He grabbed the windowsill with his cyborg arm, avoiding the broken glass as he hoisted himself up and into the window.
He found himself in a kitchenette with dishes still in the sink and an empty wine bottle in pieces across the floor. Turning his attention to the apartment, he surveyed the situation as he listened.
Bullet holes dotted the walls, letting light seep through in eerie beams. Judging by the size and shape of the holes, the Omnic was using high caliber bullets. It left little hope for whoever was in there. A mist of paint and drywall dust hung in the air, accompanied by a familiar burning smell. He carefully tread across the glass littered tile and paused at a soft choke and cough.
Genji darted into the hallway, following the sound. He found you sprawled on the ground, kicking weakly at the carpet in an attempt to find some safety. Upon seeing him, you stilled.
“Did… did you get it?” your voice was thick with pain.
Genji froze. No, it couldn’t be. He instantly fell to your side, hesitant to speak. Your top was soaked in blood and you hissed in pain as he moved you to unbutton your shirt. His fleshy hand trembled as he ripped the shirt from your shoulders and wrapped it tight around your waist, covering the several bullet wounds. He desperately pressed his hands against your abdomen, putting as much pressure against you as he could. You squeezed your eyes shut and gasped for air, trying not to attract more Omnics with the cry of pain threatening to tear through you.
He couldn’t help but think bitterly at the last time he removed your clothes so hastily. He never yearned so deeply for those carefree days as he did now. It was a deep pain dead center in his chest, like maybe if he wanted it bad enough, he could force the hands of time back to before all of this.
“Did you get it?” you repeated weakly.
He slowly nodded, “yes. Thank you.”
You sighed and laid your head back against the floor, blinking lazily, “g…good.”
“Genji, what’s going on?” an agent buzzed in his ear piece.
“There are wounded,” he struggled to keep his voice firm, “what’s your ETA?”
“Two minutes. Hang tight.”
He nodded at you and held your wounds a little tighter, blood seeping through your shirt and between his fingers, “help is coming.”
Genji tried to keep his voice low and words short, hoping you didn’t hear the pain he felt. Praying you wouldn’t recognize him. Not like this. Not now.
You looked at him, brow furrowed and lips parted as you struggled to breathe. Tears slid from the corner of your eye, dripping down toward your ear as you laid there. He fought the urge to flick your tears away and hold you close.
With a violent jerk, you curled toward him and coughed, blood spraying from your mouth and nose. Unable to hold back, he quietly hushed you and stroked your hair, mentally cursing you for revealing yourself to the damn Omnic just to help him.
“Hold on just a little longer,” his voice cracked with emotion as he tried to comfort you, “you’ll make it. Help is coming!”
You looked up at him deliriously, beautiful in spite of your condition, and whispered, “What kind of angel are you to be sad for me?”
“Angel?” he found himself repeating. It was something he called you on more than one occasion. And here you were, calling something so disfigured and grotesque as him an angel. He cursed you again, bitterly.
Your focus went past him and slid to the wall as your breathing shallowed, “you…you sound like someone I know.”
With that, he broke.
“It’s me, my love,” he said, barely over a whisper, “I’m here.”
He couldn’t do it. He pressed his forehead to your shoulder and squeezed his eyes shut. He couldn’t let you think you were alone with some stranger in your last moments. Several agonizing seconds passed as he listened to your ragged breathing, as blood seeped between his fingers, as your flame struggled to stay lit.
“Some people… see angels when they die…” your voice was so quiet, so distant, “I’m glad I got to see a sparrow…”
“No, my love!” he whispered desperately, “no! Just hold on.”
He looked into your face and saw softest smile as your gaze grew more and more distant. One weak hand stroked his hair before falling to the side. He wrapped you up tightly in his arms and pressed his face into your hair, begging you to hold on just a moment longer. Just one more moment, because he could hear the dropship coming.
You knew him when you were an assistant under Dr. Ziegler
One day you saw Genji with no limbs and half dead
So you helped Dr. Ziegler attach him
During the process, you thought that Genji was kinda cute and very handsome

As the aircraft was slowly making its approach to the ground, you grew more and more nervous. Biting your fingernails, you glanced around at the heroes who you happened to befriend. There was Zenyatta, you and him didn't talk much but he seemed very calm and collected in battle. Then Mercy, or Angela as she was most commonly called, was always a wonderful person to talk to however whenever she was treating a patient you knew to never disturb her. Next there was McCree, he had a much more "rough n' tough" exterior but whenever you guys were off duty he was a bit of a charmer, though you never fell for it. Orisa followed you around a lot, mostly because she was programmed to protect others but she also genuinely enjoyed your company, or at least, you thought it was genuine. It's hard to tell with robots.
Now there was Sigma, a bit of a newer addition to the crew but he was a strong fighter and an interesting person to be around. Despite his seemingly split personalities, you two have managed to have very pleasant conversations when everyone else is asleep. Finally..Genji. Genji was the hero everyone strived to be, or that's how you saw him. He was fun and goofy whenever you guys were off the job yet calculated and passionate when in the midst of a fight, but one trait persisted on and off the battlefield: his flirty-ness. McCree was a charmer, more "old fashioned" in his wits but Genji was a lot more audacious and up-front in his advances. Unfortunately, time doesn't stop for your daydreams so by the time you got to thinking about Genji the aircraft came to a particularly rough landing, jostling you around where you so happen to fall onto none other than: the cyborg ninja himself. It took you a second to fully realize what happened, as you were so busy in thought you disconnected from the outside world. That was, until you heard Genji's robotic yet endearing voice emit from behind the mask.
"Y/N, I know you're falling for me but you don't have to be so literal about it~" He teased, holding you up so you wouldn't hit the floor. Your face went hot, you still haven't quite gotten used to his banter yet. You quickly stood up properly, removing your arms from his hands. He chuckled spotting your reaction, he had a habit of doing that. "Relax Y/N, you know I'm just teasing."
That was true, but you still couldn't help but wonder..'No, now is not the time Y/N, you're about to go into battle for f×cks sake.' You put on a smile, shaking your head lightly in a playful manner. "Really Genji? Do you ever stop?"
"No Y/N, no he does not." The cowboy spoke up, chuckling lightly as he flicked his cigar, sending light sparks on the floor. "He won't stop talking 'bout ya eithe-"
"Jesse! What did I tell you about the smoking?!" Angela spoke up, quite literally a guardian angel in this moment as she distracted McCree from spilling all of Genji's secrets. The two went on to bicker, however the aircraft broke out in silence when the doors started to open slowly. You took a deep breath, knowing that this could possibly be your last mission. Though this was the case with every mission. Hanamura…Where Genji grew up. It was truly beautiful. Y'know..despite the smoke and fire from a battle that seemingly had already begun. After another deep breath, you and your team jumped off the aircraft. As you jumped, you looked over and made eye contact with Genji. He seemed to smile, giving you a thumbs up for good luck.
You were grateful your team was victorious. You were terrified of what could go wrong, of the people they could harm. Luckily, everybody was safe. Well, everybody but you. Currently, you were buried underneath the rubble, a wound on your head and you were 90% sure you broke your foot or perhaps your whole leg. You had tried calling out for your teammates, but the oxygen was getting thin. You weren't even panicking, because you knew your team had won the battle. That's all that mattered. That everyone else was safe. You closed your eyes, blood dripping down from the wound in your head. You let out a sigh, and everything stopped. Things went black, you felt numb. You were sure this was it. Until you heard a voice that was all too familiar.
"Y/N!!" The cyborg ran towards you in full distress. Fighting the calming blackness that over took you, you opened your eyes.
After coughing, you called out. "Genji…I-I'm here.." It was soft, and you weren't even sure if he could hear you. Hearing how panicked Genji was, was enough reason for you to keep fighting. He ran over to you, his enhanced robot hearing helping him greatly.
"Y/N!" He called out once more. "Y/N I'm here." He kept muttering random words, thanking the heavens you were alive, saying how stupid you were to go on your own, and then scolding himself because he was just so happy you were still here. He did all that as he moved the rubble off of you with ease. Genji relaxed greatly when he finally saw your face. Gently, he picked you up. You shuddered a bit against the cold metallic suit but quickly relaxed, your strength being all gone. "You're safe, Y/N. I promise, nothing bad will happen to you again." You nodded your head gently before closing your eyes once more, grateful for your savior.
When you finally awoke, the hiss of metal disconnecting was the first thing you heard. You stirred a little as you slowly gained back all your senses. You were laying on some kind of bed, and you were holding someone's hand. You could immediately tell who's it was though, the metallic fingers gently caressing your knuckles. You couldn't help the smile that etched on your face. You also felt some tubes run through your arm. 'Must be an IV..' Regarding your leg, it already had a cast on it and was elevated. Angela must have cared for you. After a moment, slowly, you opened your eyes while turning to look at Genji. You were a bit surprised though, when you saw he had taken his mask off. His face was scar ridden, but that never made him less attractive to you. Really you only saw him like this when he was injured, or sleeping. He was looking down, tears in his eyes. You tried reaching your other hand out to cup his face but he was a bit too far away. "Genji..C'mere.." You said softly. He immediately shot up, looking at you. The tears finally fell and he squeezed your hand.
"Y/N!! You're okay!" He smiled, tears still coming down. He leaned forward, planting a gentle kiss to your hand that he was holding. The action made you flush, yet you continued to look at the ninja in front of you. You gently cupped his face in your other hand. You couldn't tell if it was because you were weak or if you had just grown more confident, but you weren't as shy as normal. "Y/N, I am so so so sorry for letting anything bad happen to you. I promise I'll protect you now, with all my being." You smiled sadly, you didn't like the fact that Genji blamed himself and yet you were grateful for his future protection.
"Genji, none of this is your fault. I wandered off on my own, it's alright. I'm safe now with you." You rubbed your thumb softly against his rough cheek. He kissed the side of your hand that was cupping his face, and yet again you flushed. He's never done anything like that; he's never kissed any part of you before. So, a part of you couldn't help but wonder why he did it. Was it just from a place of protectiveness? Or did he truly have feelings for you? "What's important is that everyone else is safe, we saved the city." You spoke up after a moment.
The cyborg merely chuckled weakly, giving your hand yet another kiss. "Y/N, I would let a thousand cities burn to the ground as long as you were safe." He smiled softly, looking at your flustered face. "Sure it's great that we saved everyone…But if you weren't okay, I couldn't live with myself." He explained, but it seemed like he was holding himself back from…what? His cold knuckles rubbed against yours, giving you butterflies.
You smiled as well, and squeezed Genji's hand softly. "Hey..Don't worry about that." You coughed, your torso raising from the bed with the movement. The cyborg's face immediately filled with worry. "I'm safe, you're safe..the people are safe." You reassured him, laying back against the slightly elevated hospital bed.
"Yes but-" He started, but then sooner than he had started, gave up. He shook his head, and with his free hand grabbed the missing part to his helmet. "Get some rest, Y/N. I'll be back, I have some paperwork Jack needs me to fill."
I roll my eyes at the mention, but understand regardless. "Go ahead, I know how strict he can be." You gave a weak chuckle and the ninja before you slowly let go of your hand, as if it pained him to do so. You closed your eyes, falling asleep to the soft hiss of Genji's metallic helmet connecting.
After an hour or so, you woke up to the sound of the door opening. "Genji? Is that you?" You called out quietly, head still feeling groggy from your nap. You heard a feminine laugh, and immediately recognized it as Angela's. You slowly opened your eyes and watched as she put her rubber gloves on.
"Sorry to disappoint, but no, it's not Genji. Just your resident doctor." She smiled, walking over the to monitor you were connected to, looking it over.
You blushed lightly and shook your head. "I didn't mean to look disappointed, he just…said he'll be back." You said, feeling a bit stupid for expecting him to be back this soon. "He's probably busy still.." You mumbled, trying to make yourself feel better.
Angela looked down on you and checked your head wound, smiling softly. "Don't worry Y/N, he'll be back. Jack is..upset that he ran off to find you." You tilted your head a bit. "No- No don't do that please, I need to make sure your wound isn't infected." You moved your head back, but still had many questions.
"I don't understand, why would Jack be upset at that? Doesn't he always want to save as many people as possible?" You asked, confused. You saw Angela take a deep breath out of the corner of your eye before she seemingly made up her mind.
"When we couldn't find you, we all assumed you were dead. We were given direct orders to report straight back, as there was word that there was an emergency somewhere else. Luckily some other agents were free so they got there in time, but Genji insisted on staying and looking for you. We were all heartbroken, really, but Genji…He really didn't seem like he'd live without you." She confessed, turning back to her counter with medical supplies. "Young love, right?" She joked, trying to lighten the mood.
You were stunned, and didn't say a word. 'Young love?' You thought. 'Does he..really care about me like that?' You asked yourself, thinking it was way too good to be true. But how could you ignore the obvious signs any longer? As you were overthinking your crush on the cyborg, Angela had some good news.
"You should be able to leave tomorrow. Of course you won't be able to walk, and you can't go on any missions with us, but you won't be confined to this 'hospital' for long." She smiled. "Genji has already volunteered to be your personal nurse, seems to think he can do a better job than me, but I'm sure you'll be fine on your own. We all know you're a fighter, Y/N."
You thanked her and appreciated the compliments, but you were obviously preoccupied. By mere coincidence, someone knocked on the door about five minutes after Angela knocked. "Come in!" You called, flicking through the channels of the T.V in the room. Genji emerged from the door, holding a small bouquet of flowers. You smiled seeing him, along with the nice gift. "Aww Genji, you didn't have to." You said.
His robotic chuckle emerged from the mask, and he closed the door behind him. "I've wanted to give them to you for a while, actually. So yes, it was very necessary." You couldn't see him, but from his tone of voice you can tell that he smiled. He sat back down on the chair next to your bed, putting the flowers on a nearby table. You two sat in silence for a bit before you spoke up.
"Genji..You've been really sweet to me today. First with saving me-" You started.
"Technically that was yesterday." He chimed in.
You rolled your eyes with a smile. "Oh hush, you know what I mean. What I'm trying to say- Or ask, rather is…Do you..have feelings for me? Maybe I'm reading this all wrong but you kept kissing my hands and got me flowers and-" You started going on a nervous ramble, hoping that something made sense and if you were wrong Genji didn't hate you. You were so nervous, in fact, that you didn't hear his helmet disconnect. In a moment's notice, Genji was mere inches from your face.
He smiled, and nodded his head. One of his hands grabbed your own, while the other tucked your hair behind your ear. "Of course I do, Y/N. How could I not? I really do care for you, and want to have a relationship with you." He kissed your forehead softly. "I'm sorry I waited this long to tell you, I just didn't want to ruin things. I thought maybe you had someone else.."
At that you chuckled, and shook your head. "No, Genji, nobody else. Nobody else but you." You leaned your face closer to the other, neither of you connecting your lips yet.
"May I kiss you?" Genji asked, voice a whisper as if he's scared that he'll ruin the mood.
"Of course you may." You answered, and just melted feeling Genji's lips on yours. There were a few scars around his mouth, but you knew that and it felt surprisingly nice. It was like a perfect moment, one that the two of you were dreaming about forever. After a moment you pulled away, wrapping your arms around Genji. "I love you, so much Genji." You admitted with the biggest smile on your face.
"I love you too, Y/N." He said, with an equally big smile on his face.
Can you do more relationship fluff HCs with blackwatch and fem s/o? I love your other blackwatch work! Thanks!!
Genji loves to go out, but in his Blackwatch era the days of arcade games and goofing off are at an all-time low
However, he loves to hike.
He feels in his time of getting used to a cybernetic body, he has lost touch with himself.
Being out in nature helps him find peace whereas being in Moira's lab cannot
He doesn't really camp and spend the night too often though with you he'll pack a couple hammocks and find a nice campground
He'll pull you in with him a set you in his lap and pull out a book all while having his arms around you
Occasionally if you're cuddled against his chest, he'll pull you up to kiss you, and he'll have his body cybernetics heat up to keep you warm if the day grows cold
Genji doesn't necessarily eat, but Angela made it so he's able to enjoy small amounts of food
This means S'mores!
He enjoys them, but he likes feeding you them and laughing at the chocolate and marshmallow mess on your face
you did the same to him and it was one of the first times you've heard him laugh whole heartedly and man was that a majestic feeling
On the side, another hobby he's picked up is wood carving
Genji loves to make little statues for you, whether it's of dragons or foxes and if you're lucky he'll make a little inscription
Doesn't really have technology, but he does own a Wii?
Wii sports date night with the cowboy who's weirdly good at Wii bowling
Cassidy jokingly calls himself a gamer, but even a junker with -1 braincell could see he's not
The moment you buy Mario kart Wii and beat him over and over he's on his KNEES begging to play something else
REFUSES TO PLAY RED DEAD REDEMPTION NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE GRAPHICS ARE
Like I said in other post, while He can't barbeque his specialty lies in making comfort foods like corn bread, BBQ beans, mashed potatoes, and a basic pan seared steak.
On days your sick he'll whip up a hot tomato bisque with some bread on the side
Cassidy would love if you'd join him in the kitchen, meal preparation is always a pain in the ass
Going out, another thing he likes to do is go to carnivals, though he hates rollercoasters of any kind
He just likes showing you all the cheats to the unwinnable games
Not because he's scared, he just gets sick on them very easy
ok fine he's scared, I tried to cover for him but no he's a scaredy cat
If the day is free and slow, he's totally ok with chilling at home and holding you on the couch
Beware his beard tickles you during most kisses
Likes to wrap his poncho around you and put his cowboy hat on you
Definitely can't resist to kiss you when he sees you in his clothes
matching western outfits YES!
Such a weeb, and you'll know it after many nights in her lab
Watches anime while doing trivial experiments or documenting her results and she'll have you right there with her
When she goes home, she takes you with her and in all honesty she way too tired to cook so expect some take-out and a bottle of wine
Dinner is usually pretty animated; home is a place where she feels open to talk to you about her frustrations and excitements and she knows you'll listen and take to heart what she says
Make-out sessions with wine-stained lips, moira's pretty saucy milf don't sass me anon
Her corrupted hand pains her though she doesn't show it in front of others
Having you near her helps distract her form the pain ahd you and turn just puts some heat packs in the microwave and hold them against her arm
Occasional affection, but not much and that mostly stems from her fear of hurting you
Won't hesitate to kiss you though
absolutely no PDA
Long chess matches, she likes to play wits against wits
insert another wine-stained make out session here after you lose a match
her haughtiness after a winning makes her this way
She loves to style hair; it helps her unwind and she's rather good at it
same goes for nails, honestly, I can't paint nails for shit, but know that moira can and she will do yours in a heartbeat
SPA DATES
I have this image of moira with a cucumber mask and i can't get it out of my head god damnit
Big man. big arms. big cuddles
Sparring matches at HQ! Helps burn off energy and Afterwords he likes to head home with you
karaoke night, he probably finds some songs to sing in Spanish to woo you
Definitely a dancer, and won't take no for answer if he drags you out onto the floor
His thighs save lives
pulls you into his arms and sways to the beat
Twirls then dips you (the crowd gasps)
type of guy to have a rose in his mouth tbh
On the drive back he' gets drive thru and you two are laughing your asses of on the standup comedy radio
Gabriel occasionally takes you to this seaside cliff where he goes to contemplate and reflect on his decisions.
It's late at night and with the bags of fast food in his hand and a flashlight in the other he takes you to the top.
Once Gabe finds the spot, he finds the remnants of an old campfire and starts a fire and a couple worn plastic chairs are already set around the fire
You two are chowing down on fast food burgers and fries, and he reaches over with one arms and pulls you to his side
After finishing he puts out the fire and the stars become clearer than ever and looking over the cliff, the waves glow blue with bioluminescence
Gabriel smiles warmly at you and wraps an arm around your waist and brings his lips to yours
His kisses warm you up as the ocean breeze blows past the two of you
A/N: Not as much as the last one, but I pulled what I could from my brain to write more for the Blackwatch crew
the intimate moments you have with genji during sex will never cease to make him weep. cuddle fucking him while kissing his scars, telling him how beautiful he looks. reminding him that his scars are progress from how far he's gotten to be laying here today. all from his hard work and preserverance. he'd shudder, nuzzling deeper into your chest. hands on your hips as he buries himself further onto you, wailing softly. genjis being so overwhelmed with your love and feels so out of body he cums, peppering kisses on your chest, entangling your bodies even closer. you feel his heart thumping with yours, in sync.
his scarred hand reaching to cradle yours, rubbing his thumb across the top.
"ありがとう[名前]、あなたがいなかったらとても迷っていたでしょう." he'd croak, biting back a sob, voice laced with tears, admiration, and love.
-
barely any smut LOL but genji needs love and affection. also i feel during sex sometimes genji switches to Japanese and he doesnt even notice.
Everything feels better when Genji is with you.

“I have not seen you around recently.”
You look up to find Genji leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed over his chest. Quite some time has passed since you first met him. If you were younger, you would’ve jumped out of your skin at his unexpected arrival, but you didn’t. Instead, you didn’t bat an eye, far too jaded to be surprised by anything anymore.
“I’ve been busy,” you say.
Your words feel practised, dishonest, though they aren’t entirely false. Between the increasing Null Sector attacks and the pressure Soldier: 76 has been putting on you, time has felt like it’s been slipping out of your hands. You wish you could be as uplifting as Lena, or maybe as relaxed as Cassidy. It’s never been in your nature to relax, you suppose, having been raised in a disciplinarian family. Yet here you are, curled up in your blankets as you wallow in self-pity, looking the most pathetic you ever have in front of him.
He doesn’t seem bothered by it, something you can’t decide whether to feel thankful or upset about. Guilt begins to seep into your system as he takes a seat on the edge of your bed. As if he can sense your spiral into pessimism—he probably can, he’s known you for long enough—he laces his fingers with yours, the metal cool against your skin.
A beat of silence passes.
“Genji?”
He hums, waiting for you to continue.
“I’m sorry.”
You don’t like him seeing you in such a state. Genji caresses the back of your hand with his thumb, seemingly lost in thought for a moment. It’s hard to discern what he’s thinking. He’s been keeping his mask on more frequently, just out of habit, but a part of you wishes you could just see his eyes on you one more time.
“I know you didn’t mean to ignore me,” he speaks up, turning his head in your direction. “But I have missed you. That’s why I came here.”
You manage a weak smile. “I missed you too.”
“Cassidy has been asking for you as well.” There’s an amused lilt in his voice. “He said it’s sad not having his favourite sharpshooter around.”
That gets a chuckle out of you. “His favourite sharpshooter?”
“Yes. And mine too.”
Heat rises to your cheeks at how easily he says it. The fact that he’s holding your hand isn’t helping much, either. Still, it amazes you how a simple two words can make you feel the lightest you’ve ever been. You missed this. You missed him.
“Don’t say it like that,” you mumble, flustered. “I’m trying to mope, Genji.”
“I am not allowing it.” He lets go of your hand and you’re already missing his touch, your bottom lips slightly jutting into a pout at his sudden movement. It doesn’t last long, though, now that he’s shifted his position so he’s laying his head on your lap. “And I was only telling the truth.”
“Shut up.” There’s no actual malice in your words. Even without your other hand coming down to cup the side of his face, you think he knows that very well too. “You can’t just come in here and get me all soft and mushy, you know. You’re so mean.”
“I am mean?” he retorts in mock offence. “I tell you that I miss you, but I am mean.”
“Yeah. The meanest.” You giggle, bringing his hand up to your lips to press a gentle kiss on it. With a pleased sigh, you feel your worries ebb away and let yourself sink into the comfort he brings you. “I’ll probably come back tomorrow. I’m feeling better anyway—”
“You will come see me first, yes?”
You playfully nudge his head away, avoiding his gaze again because somehow it’s like second nature for him to make you feel this way. Like you’re a blushing protagonist of a romance story. In a last ditch attempt to keep your cool, you clear your throat and say in the most deadpan tone you can muster.
“Actually, I think I’ll see Winston first.”
“You would prefer him over me?” You can practically hear him sulking. “And you say that I am mean.”
You find yourself smiling at how natural it feels to fall back into this kind of rhythm with him despite all your setbacks and isolation. It makes your heart swell in joy, being cared for and understood by someone like him.
“Hey, get up,” you urge him gently. He does so without question, though he still tilts his head at you curiously. You scoot forward, finally leaving the mass of blankets to throw yourself in his arms, pressing a kiss to where his cheek would be. “I love you, Genji.”
He lets out a content sigh. “I love you too. You don’t have to push yourself so hard.”
You fall into a comfortable silence. In the embrace of the one you love, you’re slowly lulled to a peaceful slumber until he speaks up again, this time sounding genuinely concerned.
“But you will come see me first tomorrow, right?”
Your laughter is all he hears.
| Reaper | Soldier:76 |
He loves you with all his heart; always letting you know how much you mean to him. In his line of work, he never knew if he was going to come back home from a mission, so he wanted you to know that you were his world.
You are his everything; he wouldn’t know where he’d be if it weren’t for you (most likely drowning beneath pile of paperwork and neglecting his health to distract himself from romance).
Being in a relationship with the Blackwatch commander definitely came with benefits. You were treated as an equal by the other higher-ups, soldiers were as sweet as can be to you and you were allowed to put your input when it came to missions.
The benefits of being in a relationship with Gabriel was also accompanied by a high number above your head for your life by villainous organizations that wanted the Commander to suffer.
Gabriel loved to shower you in affection; hugging you from behind as you worked, giving you kisses whenever he saw you, complimenting you on how well you looked and how you always managed to steal his breath away.
He loved taking you out on date; being able to show that he was your lover was a privilege and he took it with pride. He would take you to different restaurants, letting you lavish in the expensive life style, but he always preferred to stay at home a cook a delicious meal beside you, slow dancing in front of the fire place while soft music played in the background.
He did his best to protect you. Whenever you were assigned to a mission, he tried to talk you out of it, but soon understanding when you refused, telling you that he completely understood and that he wanted you to come home safe and sound.
He refused to show you his face, fearing that once you saw his rotting features you would see him as a monster and never near him again.
He kept you secret from Talon, making sure you were under the radar from the terrorizing group. He also never spoke word of his occupation, telling you that it was better left unsaid.
He always kept you safe, protecting you from anything that threatened you; whether it be a stranger passing by or Talon itself. He would do anything to keep you out of danger, even if it meant taking down Talon himself.
He wanted to ravish you in jewelry and pricey items, but you refused the gifts, telling him that his presence was gift enough and being near him always made you feel safe.
Reaper always surprised you with appearances; showing up out of nowhere with a bouquet of flowers in hand. He would occasionally be at your front door, but you became used to leaving your window unlocked for him whenever he wanted to visit.
You were his getaway. You were the one that made him happy and feel as if he was worth something. He wanted to show you how much you met to him, but he never found a way to express himself. He was nervous to speak of romance around you, fearing that you would change you mind of being his lover.
He loved you with all his being, whether he was dead or alive, his overwhelming feelings for you would never shift. Even though he was always one to stray away from affection, telling you that he loved you whenever he saw you was something he never forgot to do.
He was excited to have you as his lover. He had loved you dearly and when you had said yes, he was over the moon with happiness.
He cherished every moment with you. Laying in bed beside each other? It was everything to him. Seeing you laugh and smile? It was the world to him. Every moment with you was held with upmost importance.
Forehead kisses were a staple in your relationship. He loved pulling you close, his chest against yours, to press his lips to your forehead.
He loved seeing you kick ass while out on a mission; it was hard for him to hold himself back because you looked so amazing. Your clothing left nothing to the imagination, allowing you to be more agile. You looked down on your defeated enemy, your foot on their back to hold them still as your gun rested on your shoulder. You were a total badass is Jack’s eyes.
Jack loved to you to the movies, even though the whole demand for a cinema was dying out. He would always ask you which film you wanted to see and what snacks you wanted. While you watched the movie, he would pull you close, his arm around your shoulders and your head leaning against him. Occasionally he would settle for holding hands, but he loved it whenever you were pressed to his side.
Whenever you were sent on a mission that he hadn’t been assigned to, he would walk up to you before you left on the Dropship. He would cup your face and pull you into a passionate kiss that left you wanting more; “Come back to me safe so we can finish that.” He would say, sending a flirtatious wink.
He was slow with everything, making sure you were comfortable. Before your first kiss, he asked you if it was alright and waited to see if their was any hesitation. He cared about you and he wanted you to know that.
Reluctancy at it’s finest. Yes, he wanted to be in a relationship with you, but he was scared of the consequences to come. What if you found out who he truly was before he was read to explain? What if Reaper began to target you in a form of revenge? Thousands of “what ifs” flew through his mind when you first popped the question, but after a while of speaking with one another, he said yes.
He was gentle with you, afraid to hold your hand or even kiss your cheek. He didn’t want you to regret your decision.
Your happiness was his happiness; whenever he caught eye of your grin or your laughter filled his ears, he couldn’t help the small smile that crawled onto his lips.
While out on missions, he always looked after you, making sure you were covered and safe — even though you continued to tell him that you were okay on your own. He never wanted to see you slightly injured, let alone a severe wound that could possibly claim your life. He wanted to be the one to take the attacks instead of you.
Soldier: 76 was not the first to say “I love you”. He wanted to tell you how much you meant to him, but he was scared, especially being a wanted man. His heart fluttered when the words left your lips — he felt as though he were on Cloud 9.
A simple home-cooked meal shared in front of the sunset was his favorite date. He would have a bundle of flowers set in a vase in the center of the table; nothing too tall and invasive, but just enough for there to be a decoration. He always enjoyed sitting down with you, the warm glow of the setting sun caressing your skin as you chatted about your day.
Being alone with you was relaxing; no one pestering him about paperwork or going on missions. Just a calm atmosphere as you relished in each other’s company. He liked his personal space, but he couldn’t help the way his heart skipped a beat when you fell asleep leaning against him.
