Hello folks and on today's episode of I complain about Overwatch Lore, may I present Gabriel Reyes' son?!
And his freaking wife????
We're introduced to them during the 'Code or Violence' short story and we don't really get to know much about them, other than they met after the Omnic crisis and she found another partner after Gabriel Reyes was pressured dead.
They mention a 6 year old son in the short story and that has to be the kid in the picture, no doubt.
But it bring to question, when was he referencing his sons sixth birthday? How many years before Overwatch was disbanded was that? Presuming it was the last one before Overwatch disbanded he was be 11 in the current Overwatch timeline. Why have we heard nothing about a little Reyes running around in the world? Why are there NO in game voice lines about his son?? Or wife????
And his wife! How did they meet? When were they married? How long were they together? Does she still mourn him and want him back or has she accepted things and moved on with her new partner?
Give me more Blizzard I beg đŽâđ¨đŽâđ¨
⢠Blazeâs strong need to keep hold of her responsibility as the princess of her kingdom was due to her strict father, the emperor. He kept her isolated throughout most of her childhood.
⢠She was taught swordsmanship as even though she can master her pyrokinesis, itâs still part of the royal tradition for her to learn.
⢠Whenever her mind is feeling stressed, she goes down to the beaches to meditate or quietly read a storybook under the trees, only temporarily though.
⢠Every time she sneezes, her ponytail grows into a burst of fire; itâs even worse when she catches a cold.
⢠As much as sheâs embarrassed to admit it, but Blaze has a bit of a sweet tooth. She loves it when Amy and Cream share desserts with her although she attempts to hide it.
⢠Her favourite genre of books are romantic novels (the nicely written ones of course) she can get lost within the bittersweetness of the stories, to the point when Marine thinks sheâs ignoring her.
⢠The reason why sheâs scared of heights is due to her chasing a butterfly up to the highest top of her castle once as a child⌠she nearly slipped off.

⢠Somewhere, sometime, the Sol Emeralds called her once again to Sonicâs dimension only to see everything in flames. There she met a white psychic hedgehog and agreed to stay around until she can find some answers for her own.
So here is a long long bio for Elita-1 and my story for her in my AU !
Formerly Ariel, she was once a council worker on Cybertron, specializing in supervision of all sorts of workers from mid and lower castes. She could have done far greater, as she had been gifted by the Well of AllSparks with the ability to change her form not just twice but three times total, to walk on legs, wheels or fly.
Yet she still chose to work where she did. Grunt work, in comparison to the great Senators and other somewhat rulers of Cybertronian society butâŚAriel loved her line of work. It kept her humble, in comparison to great many of her councilmen and women who did otherwise.
So, Ariel spent many many times seeing how they worked, as well as going to the record halls, studying what she could to ensure she did her work correctly. That was how she met, then Orion Pax.
The two were close, as he often fetched her the necessary data of her work, and would speak with her about all kinds of things. Be it speaking of the caste system, history, myth, legends and so much more. It was only natural thus that she fell for him, and he for her.
Of course, then all changed as Megatronus and Orion crossed paths, and tensions rose, when Orion was deemed worthy of a Prime by the council. Ariel, who had sided with Orion, made it clear to the council that this caste system was by no means a benefit to anyone, made her voice heard andâŚpaid the price dearly for it. If she wanted to advocate for the lower caste, then she would live as lower caste.
Sentenced to the docks, she was. Made to toil in them day and night, as rebellions stirred further and furtherâŚtill Megatron came to be, and Optimus Prime was reborn. When alliances came to be, factions decided and each parted from one another.
Ariel, found by the Autobots after an attack on the docks, was heavily damaged. Awakening to a medbay, she was delighted and saddened to be reunited with Orion, now Optimus. Had they lived another life, perhaps things would be different. So, that night, Ariel died. In name and frame, she was remade and rebuilt by the medics, and chose a new name for herself. If the council thought herself so elite, then she would take that name. Elita-1.
She rose the autobot ranks, using her knowledge from her former line of work to coordinate attacks, recruit and train soldiers of all kinds.
Then came the grand Exodus, and Elita-1 was forced apart from her Conjunx, having only committed themselves to each other a week before. He had given her the coordinates for Earth, to follow him, but she couldn't follow aboard his ship, as she and the last of her team would forge a distraction till they made it out.
And when that was secured, and she was the only one left standing, she boarded a ship of her own, broken as it was, but it was something still. The damage was substancial, especially as Cons found her, and alone, she could do nothing but chart her courseâŚand jump into a cryo-stasis pod, and wish that Primus would keep her safe. That she would make it to this new planet in one pieceâŚand that maybe, Optimus would be there when she made it.
So we all know how weirdly antagonistic Haz is to Mercy. Ever think it's because he saw her as a saviour when he was younger, but got dissolutioned so hard by his accident that he began to grow a specific dislike for her? Like he was waiting in the hospital hoping that an angel would appear and make the pain go away, only for him to be abandoned by the system to suffer alone? I think about it.
Honestly, that's such a raw and compelling interpretation of Hazard's character. I could totally see itâhe was probably at his lowest point, clinging to the hope that someone like her would swoop in and save him, like the angel of mercy that she is supposed to represent. Instead, he was left to rot in a broken system, and that betrayal might've cut deeper than any physical wound. It's not just a dislike for Mercy as a person; it's the shattering of an ideal she represented to not just him but possibly everyone.
Every time he sees her, it could be a reminder of the hope he once hadâand the pain of realizing that hope was misplaced. Itâs not just personal, itâs existential. Maybe that bitterness fuels his drive to rely on himself, even to a fault. Thatâs why the second voice line with him and herâ
Mercy: Given the injuries you've sustained... you must be in an immense amount of pain.
Hazard: Let me guess: you want to poke and prod, make it all go away?
Mercy: Well, an examination certainly couldn't hurt.
Hazard: Examine all you like. It won't mend the harm you've done.
This exchange is brimming with tension and layered with resentment, it perfectly illustrates the fractured dynamic between them. His bitterness is palpable, but itâs not just angerâitâs deeply rooted disappointment.
When Mercy acknowledges his pain, her concern comes across as genuine, but to Hazard, it likely feels like empty words.
Autobot sex appeal
so, he's a cyborg right? what if the certain fleshy tissue near certain areas where his implants and cyberbits are very *very* sensitive? sensitive in a way he shivers or jolts when it's touched? like say, his nape?? teehee
Ticklish Bear
Hazard x Reader
A/N: AAUUGGHH I LOVE THE WAY THAT YOU THINK (WHY DIDENT I THINK THAT THIS COULDVE WORKED IN SO MANY SCENARIOS)
Summary: Hazard just wants to tune his guitarâŚ
The dim glow of the city lights filtered through the window as you sat beside Hazard on the floor of his small apartment. A half-empty bottle of whiskey rested on the table nearby, his idea of a ârelaxing night.â He was leaned back against the couch, his guitar balanced across his lap, fingers absently picking out a haunting melody that seemed to match the low hum of the world outside.
You watched him silently, captivated by the way his hands movedâso sure, so precise. His cybernetic fingers glinted faintly in the light, but it was the smooth transition from flesh to metal at his neck that caught your eye. Right at the base of his skull, just beneath the implants, there was a sliver of exposed skin that seemed softer than the rest of him.
âYouâre starinâ he said without looking up, his Scottish accent pulling you from your thoughts.
âMaybe I amâ you admitted, leaning a little closer.
âCarefulâ he muttered, his lips quirking into a faint smirk. âYe keep lookinâ at me like that, and I might think yeâve got plans.â
âMaybe I doâ you shot back, voice light with mischief.
He chuckled under his breath but kept playing, the gentle melody filling the space between you. Emboldened by the moment, you reached out and lightly brushed your fingers against the nape of his neck, where flesh met cybernetics.
The reaction was immediate. His entire body stiffened, and his hand froze mid-strum. A sharp inhale escaped him, followed by a muttered, âChrist!.â He twisted to look at you, his glowing eyes narrowing.
âWhat the hell was that?â he asked, his voice tight, the faintest edge of a tremor betraying him.
âWhat was what?â you replied innocently, though you couldnât stop the grin forming on your lips.
âDinnae play dumb wiâ meâ he said, rubbing the back of his neck with his cybernetic hand, careful to avoid the spot youâd touched. âYe know exactly whit ye did.â
âI barely touched youâ you said, scooting closer.
âThatâs the problemâ he muttered, shifting uncomfortably. âItâsâach, itâs just sensitive there, alright?â
âSensitive how?â you asked, curiosity sparking as you leaned in.
âSensitive likeâdonât bloody touch it againâ he grumbled, though the faint flush creeping up his neck was impossible to miss.
You didnât listen, of course. Reaching out, you brushed your fingers over the spot again, lighter this time. His reaction was immediateâhe shivered, his shoulders jerking as a muffled curse escaped him.
âAre you ticklish?â you asked, your grin widening.
He shot you a glare that couldâve melted steel. âIâm noâ ticklishâ he growled, though the pink blooming on his face told another story.
âYouâre definitely ticklishâ you teased, leaning closer.
âTouch me there again, and Iâllââ
âYouâll what?â
Hazard sighed, letting go of your wrist, but only to grab his guitar and set it on the table behind him. âKeep pushinâ yer luck, lass, and Iâll show ye squirmâ he muttered, his voice low and teasing now.
âIs that a threat or a promise?â you asked, your grin widening as you inched closer to him.
He raised an eyebrow at you, his glowing eyes narrowing. âItâs a bloody guaranteeâ he said, and before you could react, his handsâboth flesh and metalâmoved toward your sides.
You squealed as his fingers dug lightly into your ribs, tickling you relentlessly. âH-Hazard! Stop!â you gasped, squirming and laughing uncontrollably as you tried to wiggle away.
âYe wanted tae play, aye?â he said, his tone smug as he continued. âWeâll see how ye like it.â
âOkay, okay, I give up!â you cried, breathless from laughter.
He finally stopped, leaning back with a satisfied smirk. âThatâs what I thought.â
You glared at him half-heartedly, still catching your breath. âYouâre evil.â
âAyeâ he said, his grin widening. âBut ye love me anyway.â
You rolled your eyes, but you couldnât help smiling. âYouâre lucky youâre cute.â
He chuckled, reaching for the whiskey bottle and taking a swig. âDamn right I am.â
I love the 2 cayde fics you've done. That exo dosnt get enough love. All I ask is a fic with some angst and a dramatic confession the exo himself. Do as you will with the rest and keep up the amazing writing đ
Iâve been waiting for this one yâall. Tysm anon!!
TW: Canon typical violence, near death experience.
âTake me with you.â
Heâd always said it as a joke. Well, not exactly.
If somebody had taken him up on the offer, he wouldâve gone in a heartbeat. But nobody did.
And then, you.
You, whose so dangerously like him.
You with the attitude that Zavala calls recklessness.
Cayde prefers fearlessness.
Itâs what he loves about you. Not that heâd ever say that. Not aloud.
The sun is setting rapidly on the Tower as you enter the Hall of Guardians, the last beams of sunlight landing on Cayde.
Cayde, the man the plagues your every thought.
Cayde, the only reason youâre ever excited to come back to the tower.
He looks up as he hears you walk in, the usual slouch he carries disappearing as his eyes fall on you. He straightens his back out, rolling his shoulders out to accentuate his height as much as he can.
Ikora stifles a laugh.
He does it every time you walk in, like clockwork. He looks casual enough, sounds it too. But the second he sees you, a small part of him turns into a nervous wreck.
âHey, Y/N.â
One of the many things heâs done to make you fall for him. He calls you by your name. Not Guardian, the same title given to every work mule in this tower.
No, to him?
Youâre a person.
âSix.â As you greet him your voice is breathier than you meant it to be.
He notices.
He doesnât say anything, though.
You catch him up on your latest job quickly. It was a boring one, and heâs tired of listening to it about a minute in.
Although, you have a nice voice.
He doesnât dwell on that too long.
As you finish up and go to leave you wait for a second, already knowing what heâll say.
He shifts, leaning in closer, his voice just a whisper as he brushes the side of your face.
Youâve been planning for this.
âHey, take me with you.â
Heâll regret that later.
But right now, as a smirk finds itâs way onto your lips, as your hands slide past eachothers and you slip a note into his hands.
Needless to say, regret is the last thing heâs feeling.
Even more so when he opens up the slip of paper and reads whatâs inside.
Meet me at the hangar when youâre done with work.
Cayde looks up, letting his eyes trail you as you walk away.
Heâs got quite a bit of work left to do.
Nevertheless, he decides heâs done after five minutes. Wasting the night on paperwork isnât exactly something Caydeâs willing to do.
Zavala eyes him suspiciously as he walks away hurriedly. He caught the interaction between you. Knowing the both of you, he assumes your plan canât be anything heâd approve of.
Ikora just smiles.
Caydeâs an adult and so are you. Even if you donât always act like it.
Besides, the tower can get boring. You two flirting tends to be a source of entertainment for her.
It feels like your stomach flips inside your body as you see Cayde walk into the hangar. Youâre not quite sure what you expected.
Youâd hoped he would come. Hell, itâd be unlike him not to.
But still, worry crept in. Made you wonder if he never saw you the way you see him.
Although, itâs not like this is a date.
Not officially, at least.
âHey.â Caydeâs voice snaps you out of your thoughts, and you look up at him as he steps in front of you, close enough that your chests nearly brush.
âWhatâs the plan, doll?â Heâs made a habit of calling you those kinds of names.
He just likes to see you blush when he does.
âNothing too special, just thought you might wanna get out of here for a while.â You step to the side as you talk, watching Caydeâs eyes light up as he sees the speeders waiting behind you.
You grin, not letting yourself stare at him too long.
âWhere we gonna go?â You ask him, trying not to let your eyes betray the nature of your feelings towards him as he turns to you.
âEDZ?â He asks. The conversation is simple.
Comfortable.
Sweet.
The kind of thing that makes you want to spend the rest of your nights doing just this.
You nod, going to walk past him before he catches your hand in his.
You turn around, inhaling sharply as he holds onto you.
âThank you.â His voice is low and earnest, a tone you donât think youâve ever seen him use with anybody else.
Itâs just for you.
This side of him that doesnât feel the need to crack a joke every other second just to fill the silence.
The side of him that knows he can be comfortable with you.
âWe both need it.â You answer simply.
He nods slowly, searching for the right words to say in reply.
Theyâre sitting right in front of him.
Three words. Three, simple, little, words.
âDamn right we do.â There he goes again.
Heâs wanted to say them.
Hell, heâs tried to.
But itâs like he chokes on his own feelings whenever he does.
Itâs too much, and this feels too good to risk ruining it.
Being a Guardian isnât a life full of joys. And being a vanguard?
Thereâs even less.
Youâre his best one.
Heâs not gonna put that on the line.
The ship ride down is quick, and on the speeders, youâre even faster.
You zip through a maze of pine trees, dodging boulders and fallen logs. The only sound you can hear is the wind flying past your ears, and Caydeâs laughter.
And taunts.
And, of course, flirtation.
âHow about if I win, I take you out for dinner?â He offers, shouting so that you can hear him.
In reality, youâd like nothing more.
You pretend otherwise for reasons youâre not even sure you completely understand.
âWeâre racing?â You ask, laughter bubbling up in your voice.
He rolls his eyes as if you shouldâve known this already.
âSweetheart, itâs always a race.â His voice reaches your ears, and you canât help but feel like this is heaven.
The wind in your hair, the freedom you feel, and him.
Itâs always been him.
Itâs like youâre not even on the ground anymore. So much so that when you enter a dark zone, you donât even notice.
And when fallen begin trailing you two?
You donât notice that either.
Eventually you come to a stop, climbing off your speeders breathlessly.
âHow was that for getting out of the tower?â You ask, leaning against a tree.
Cayde canât pay attention to a word youâre saying.
Your wind whipped hair falls to frame your face in waves. The playful little smirk on your lips that heâs grown to love so much.
Everything about you renders him speechless.
âCayde?â You question his uncharacteristic silence.
âI lo-â Those fated words almost leave him when the attack begins.
Fallen swarm you suddenly, coming in from every side.
Itâs a dogfight, and one neither of you are even close to prepared for.
Everything turns into a painful haze after a bullet is lodged into your ribs, even more so when you realize your ghost canât help you right now.
So much so that as the gunfire ceases, and as Cayde drags you out of the area, you can hardly tell whatâs happening.
Maybe itâs fear.
Although, if you were thinking clearly, you would know itâs probably blood-loss.
Suddenly your ghost is flying around you, healing up the wounds youâve sustained.
âY/N? Y/N?!â Caydeâs voice is laced with panic as he tries to get you to respond to him.
You attempt to sit up, only making yourself dizzy in the process and falling back.
Cayde catches you quickly, helping you to sit up.
âIâm fineâŚIâm fine.â You groan, rubbing your ribs. Your ghost might have healed you, but itâs still sore as all hell.
âYou almost died!â He responds, more worried than he would be in any other circumstance. Risk is part of your lives, he knows that.
But when it comes to you? All objectivity is lost.
âCayde, I almost die everyday. Itâs basically my job.â You try to joke, even though you know Caydeâs probably not in the mood for it.
He sighs, looking away, trying to find his reason.
He canât.
Because the only thing coursing through his mind is that this is his fault.
The only reason you were out here is because he wanted to get out of the tower.
You did this for him, and you almost died.
He almost lost you.
âIf I hadnât-â You cut him off before he can finish.
âCayde, this isnât anybodies fault, so donât go blaming yourself.â He sighs, running a hand over his face.
Youâre right, he knows that.
Still, it scared the shit out of him.
âIt doesnât matter, Y/N!â He doesnât mean to shout, he justâŚhe doesnât know how to feel.
âWeâre out here because of me. And because we were out here and because we were distracted you got hurt.â
Youâre starting to get confused. Why the hell is he taking this so hard?
âItâs really not a big deal, it happens. Whatâs going on with you?â You ask, standing up as he does too.
âIt wouldnât be a big deal if it werenât you.â His voice slowly trails off to a whisper as he responds.
Oh.
Oh.
So thatâs what this is about.
âCaydeâŚâ You begin, knowing exactly what that meant. He cuts you off before you can finish.
âNo- IâŚletâs just head home, okay?â
You roll your eyes. Youâre honestly shocked he hasnât realized that his feelings are reciprocated before.
âCayde.â You try again, and get interrupted again.
âWe donât have to talk about it.â He insists, trying to hide his shame.
Youâre smart. He knows you know now.
And the thought that you might not feel the same?
It kills him.
And how could you? How could you, beautiful, brave, daring, you, love him?
Him, the exo. The one that nobody takes seriously because he never demands it.
How could you love him?
You canât, heâs convinced himself of it.
He knows it.
âCayde, I love you!â You shout a little, trying to get him to shut up for a second.
And then his whole world shifts.
He whips around to look at you, searching for any humor in your face.
And all he finds is exactly what you said.
Love.
You love him.
As you walk towards him, everything feels like it slows. Your hand cups his face, your eyes boring into his.
âI love you.â You repeat, hoping he realizes just how serious you are.
And by God, he does.
He kisses you quickly, sweetly, nervously.
Itâs perfect.
Heâs perfect.
This, right here, this moment.
Itâs so, very, perfect.
He pulls away, looking down at you, your foreheads touching.
âI love you too.â
A/N: Wrote half of this in a Home Depot. Loved it. Hope yâall do too.

The Guardian was actually not expecting herself to have a âHunter Vanguardâ stay at her room for the night, Her and Cayde had been friends for some time now before starting a romantic relationship.
Bringing herself from slumber, she felt the side of her head on his chest, she did a small nuzzle on him, not long before she shot up to a loud crash outside her room in the distance, looking towards her room door before turning her head to the sleeping EXO.
âCayde! Cayde!â She whispered in fear, hand shaking his chest, no matter how much she tried to get him to wake up, she failed.
She then moves to shift her legs to the edge of the bed, before standing on her feet, making her way to her side of the nightstand, opening one of the drawers and getting her gun out before wondering to the door.
The hatch metal door opened at her command, hiding in the doorframe as she pointed her gun to her right and left, looking over a shoulder to see if he woke, but he remained asleep on her bed.
Later turning her head to the dark hallway, she wonders out to investigate what caused the loud crash that woke her from her sleep.
After some wondering, she hid in a corner of the hall thatâs straight, with a left and right turns, pointing her gun at each direction, the hallway is clear, very silent.
She turns left, continuing to slowly wonder, assuming that crash came from somewhere thatâs distant from where her room is.
After some more wondering and finding spots of the hallway clear, a chill went down her spine, heavy breathing as she sees that a window broken with glass shards on the floor, it is clear that someone must have broke in.
She aims her gun as she heard the sound of something run past her from behind, she moves up to hide at another corner, she can feel her heartbeat starting to go faster, her arms were beginning to shake while she points her gun left and right.
It was clear, scared to speak⌠she moves forward down the hallway, later startled by loud banging and snarling coming from one of the doors, causing her to run down the hallway before hiding herself behind another corner.
Shaking in fear, panic slowly beginning to rise⌠she slowly peeks her head over the corner, the snarling and the banging behind the door seemed to stop, leaving her in quiet sounds in the air drifting in the hallway.
She looks to her right, tightening her grip on her gun⌠she later looks to her left, greeted by something that stood many feet away from her, light flickering, it didnât look human.
The figure had its head down, breathing weakly⌠she slowly brought her gun to aim at the figure with her trembling hands, finding it slowly moving its head up to stare blankly at her with a creepy-looking face, causing the female hunter a racing heartbeat.
âW-What the hell..?â She thought to herself.
She can feel it pounding out of her chest, her quiet panicked breathing brought the figure to a horrible smile, causing it to run towards her, she lets out a loud scream as she ran down the hallway while the figure chased her with bolting legs.
She later ran into a dead end, panicking as the figure walked towards her before pouncing her against the wall, clenching her eyes shut tightly, turning her head to the right, holding the weapon so she wouldnât be able to shoot it, she fought back in fear as it held her hands, trying to avoid being killed by it.
Later feeling reality come to her, she felt an actual hand gripping on her right wrist⌠another hand on her left shoulder, she can hear the sound of someone snapping her out of the darkness that is tormenting her.
Slowly opening her eyes, she sees that it wasnât that dark figure that isnât pinning her against the wall, she slowly turns her head to see that itâs Cayde and the Ghosts that are behind them.
She sees him with a worried look on his face, her heartbeat can still be heard pounding in her chest with panicked breaths.
âC-Cayde⌠I⌠IâŚâ She was trying to explain why she was out here at this hour, but couldnât get the words out of her mouth due to fear, tears beginning to fall.
She felt his arms wrap around her before being pulled into his chest, her body shaking while gripping him tightly.
âI⌠IâŚâ her voice was now breaking from what she saw in those dark halls.
Thinking about River and his "it's hard for me to talk about what's biting at my ass" line (during the Hunt) and then later (during Following the River) he opens up and tells V about his parents and if V interrupts him before he gets into more detail he responds with "heard sob stories enough?"
Do you ever just... think a bunch about characters like these? You know, the characters who are always the rock to lean on, the anchor, the source of safety and stability and calm? The ones who are so selfless and full of love and compassion, that might not always have their own needs met because they always put others first? And especially in a world like Night City, where everything is just so very fucked? Where something like this can definitely be taken advantage of?
And this is not to say that River is some doormat that others walk all over as they please, and all he does is smile and put a thumbs up. In River's case (and in general honestly) I do not think kindness should be mistaken for weakness.
He is not weak or boring or naive, not even for someone living in Night City. In fact, it's pretty damn brave to hold onto kindness and altruism like that especially considering the world he lives in and everything he's been through.
I think about the text he sends to V letting them know they can always talk to him. And then I think about the Sun ending, the Path of Glory, how there is the opportunity for V to tell River that he is their rock, their anchor.
And he smiles with content for a moment. But V is leaving.
V, the one who helped him find Randy, helped him put his life back together in a different, but more beautiful way. The one he could turn to in his time of need, the one to be like yes I will help you, and I do not expect anything in return. The one who listens when he opens up about his trauma. The one who refuses to accept his help, the one that says "you being here is enough."
V, the one he falls so hard and so quickly for.
V, the one that is dying, that he may never see again.
I don't know where I was going with this, but on a completely unrelated note, my heart feels like it has been shredded to a million pieces.
Thought on being Genji's first love after his accident.
After coming to terms with his new body under Zenyatta's guide, he still never really put himself put there. Back before Genji always had someone to spend time with, he never was as alone as he was now. He always had a girlfriend or many people he spoke to, but now it's just him and a body he still didn't really like to look at. He more focused on training, meditation and any missions overwatch sent him on.
That was until the new overwatch recruit came along, they were friendly and treated him like a human. He enjoyed talking to them, either training alongside them or a quick wave when they passed by. He felt his heart quicken a little bit when they were near but he pushed those feelings down, nobody could love something like him right?
Soon enough him and that new recruit would spend time outside of overwatch, getting lunch together or him walking them home. With enough convincing, he would eventually show his face to them. Removing the helmet willingly for once, his face was so pretty you couldn't help but admire it. Genji felt embarrassed, scars were everywhere and he didn't like to think about them.
He reached for his mask again but you caught his hand, stopping him from covering his face again. He relented and let you touch his face, his cheeks were dusted a soft pink and he averted your gaze.
"I don't know why you cover your face, it's very handsome."
His blush deepened, he tried to reply but he couldn't think of any words. You realized what you said but before you could apologize he spoke.
"Thank you.. I. I never expected to hear that.."
He smiled softly, he took your hand in his.
"Especially not from someone as beautiful as you."
Genji never thought he would be called handsome again, but maybe this was the beginning of something new.
Submitted by anon, reposted from my old account.
It was a few months after overwatch had announced the recall when youâd joined the ranks. After the Paris incident you saw the time had come for heroâs to return and new ones to arrive, and you were willing to take up the gauntlet.
It wasnât long into your first week on the Gibraltar base when youâd finally encountered the famed cyborg who sliced and diced a null sector behemoth to pieces and survived an encounter with doomfist. You bumped into him in the hall and greeted him with a chipper hello.
Error 404 â-I need healing!â
He took off running like a bat out of hell, his face felt hot, steam was pouring out of his valve releases. He was smitten with you at first sight and he didnât know how to deal with it... He left you standing there in the hall confused beyond words...
The second encounter was no better, he saw you in the training hall and tried showing off. Needless to say he accidentally almost ended up destroying half the arena with his dragon blade. Almost killing you and endangering others in the process... He apologised profusely but he just couldnât get a coherent sentence out. Whenever he tried talking to you it was just a mess.
He tried and tried his hardest to speak with you, but each time he did his confidence fell to pieces and along with it his tongue.
In all honesty? You thought it was very sweet, youâd heard of the cyborgs unfortunate story, you found his attempts at making a closer relationship with you very cute too. You decided to ask him out. And as it would turn out? Genji was planning the exact same thing.
You were walking through the halls to your room late one night, a midnight snack in hand from the cafeteria. You were approaching your dorm when suddenly, right in front of you, a set of green lights illuminated themselves. âY/n!! Y youâre up late!â Genji said, he sounded very startled, as if he wasnât expecting you to be out of your room.
You nearly dropped your snack out of fright, âg Genji! What are you doing here?!â You say sounding just as startled as the ninja. âI I just! I had to! I mean! Iâm sorry I Iâll go!â He stammered out turning to leave. You grabbed hold of his hand and the surprised noise heâd made still makes you giggle thinking about it, âwait! Please...â you say holding on tight.
You heard Genji take in a very deep breath. He turned around grabbing hold of your hands with his. âWill you go out with me?!â He blurted out.
You stand there for a moment before giggling and nodding. âI was about to ask you the same thing.â You laugh. âYes Genji, id like that.â You smile up at him.
Genji couldnât tell which was better, your answer or your smile. He let out a breath he didnât know he was holding before falling onto his back on the floor with a loud thud. âThank you.â Was all he said, he sounded so relieved. âI donât know what I was so afraid of.â He laughed.
You giggle and open your door. You step inside and put your snack down before returning and offering genji your hands to help him up. âIs that what youâve been trying to do this whole time?â You say as he gently takes and admires your hands before getting up. âYeah heh... I... I didnât know how to ask you... every time I opened my mouth my brain broke.â He says tapping the side of his visor. â Iâll, Iâll let you enjoy the rest of your evening, how does Friday sound?...f for our date I mean.â He says shyly.
You smile and nod. âFriday sounds nice, thank you Genji.â You chirp giving his visor a peck on what you assume is his cheek. His lights flashed pink. âOh I didnât know you could change their colour?â You say amazed. âI... I canât, not like that at least!â He says flustered before rushing off. âG goodnight y/n!!â He shouted as he disappeared down the corridor. You couldnât help but laugh.
...
Friday night arrived, Genji told you to meet him in a rather odd place. It was a parking lot next to a drive in theatre. You waited there quietly in one of your nicest outfits, you were beginning to worry maybe he stood you up... then he jumped down from the building next to you. He looked nice, it was strange seeing him wearing clothes over his armor, a hoodie and some trousers.
âYou came.â He says stepping closer to you. He had a bag over his shoulder filled with snacks and drinks. âOf course I did.â You smile. âYou look nice.â You say staring up at his visor. His lights flashed pink again. âI need to get that checked, I think your compliments have broken me.â He chuckled.
âHeh, sorry.â You giggle. âWhere are we going?â You ask. Genji pointed at the drive in theatre. âBut.. we donât have a car.â You say raising an eyebrow. âWe donât need one.â He says picking you up suddenly. âG Genji!!â You say now very embarrassed. âHold on tight.â He said before suddenly jumping up onto the roof of the theatres ticket and concession building.
Up here you had a great view of the screen and the sound was perfect. He laid out the picnic blanket and set out the snacks before removing his hoodie and folding it up like a cushion for you. âI used to come here with Mccree all the time when we were in Blackwatch.â He says softly. âWe just gotta keep our voices down or weâll get caught.â He snickered.
You couldnât help but giggle. Even still you felt bad about not paying. âAh, I donât feel r-â he cut you off by raising his hand. âDonât feel bad about it, the guy who runs this place is an asshole, he jacks up the prices enough as is and doubles it for Omnics to keep them out...â he says bitterly. âOh... Fuck him then.â You smile and snuggle on the blanket beside him.
You two sat and watched the film, eating and drinking a 6 pack Genji had bought. It was a nice fruity spirit based alcohol, you had no clue what it was due to the label being in another language but youâd be sure to ask him later. You felt his hand make its way around your waist, you gladly leaned into him as he pulled you closer...
The film ended and the night was still very young. Genji packed the blanket back in his bag before unfolding his hoodie and putting it back on. âCome on, I got somewhere el-â he was cut off by an aggressive sounding old man shouting at you two from below. âI knew I heard something! Get down here you rotten kids!!â He shouted. Genji scooped you up and laughed making a run for it.
You were on the other side of the city by the time Genji stopped running, he wasnât even slightly out of breath, but you were, even though heâd carried you the whole way youâd never laughed so hard in your life. âGod he could have called the cops on us.â You giggle.
Genji snickered, âI know, fun being a little bad right?â He says gently putting you down in front of a very large building. âWhere are we?â You ask looking at the empty parking lot, âcome inside, I booked this place out for us.â He smiled taking your hand.
You followed him inside and blinked, âan ice rink?â You ask as you look over the fresh untouched surface. Genji nodded picking out a pair of skates for you. âHere, let me put them on you.â He says softly. You could tell he was blushing by how he looked away from you.
You nod and sit down for him. He removed your shoes carefully and slid the skates on. He took his time tying the laces making sure they were snug. When he finished he couldnât stop from sliding a hand up your leg, you let out a soft gasp at the bold move. You werenât expecting it, but you liked it...
He took your hand and led you out. Instantly your legs bowed and you nearly ended up on your face. He was quick to catch you and hold you up right. âHeh Iâve got you.â He says softly. Up this close you could see past the green light and through to his face. He had lovely eyes. âTh thanks. Iâve... n never skated before.â You say shyly.
âDonât worry, Iâll teach you.â He cooed helping you stand up right before slowly moving back and leading you along with ease. After a few minutes the stiffness in your movements disappeared and you began to gain balance. âI never knew you enjoyed skating.â You say staring at the ice being cautious of where you stepped next.
âLike a lot of things, I never used to do it before I joined Blackwatch.â He says as he began to skate beside you, his hand never letting go of yours. âWhen I got my new body, I was uncoordinated and very clumsy. Iâd lost my agility, and couldnât get a grasp of my new legs. So Commander Reyes brought me here one night, he put a pair of skates on me and pushed me out onto the ice... he wouldnât let me go home until I managed to get up and go around it three times without falling over.â He chuckled.
âI hated him for it at the time, I thought he was being unfair... but he was just pushing me in the right direction. He brought me back here every night after training and each time I got faster and better. Soon... I was moving with my new body as if it were my old one.â He says softly.
You hung on his every word, Genji had a horrible and rough past, to hear of a fond memory in the darkest time of his life was so... heartwarming.
You gasped as he suddenly twirled you about. Your skates spun on a point and you landed perfectly in his embrace again. âY/N?...â he says now looking right at you. âThank you... for tonight.. and for being so patient with me.â He says gently placing his hand on your cheek. â genj-â he gently placed his thumb on your lips silencing you. âPlease... let me finish before my nerve leaves me again.â He whispers.
âI never thought it possible for me to find love after what happened to me, to my body... but you gave me a chance... and... Iâd very much like another one if youâre willing to.. be mine?â He asks sounding so hopeful and shy. You nod and smile. âIâll be yours, only if you be mine.â You whisper back.
He was silent for a moment before reaching up and pressing the release on his visor, a click, a hiss as the air locks opened. Your breath caught in your throat as you saw his eyes, unobstructed and in full view. Then his face, you saw a tuft of black hair peeping out from under his forehead guard. You looked over every scar, every burn, then your eyes landed on his lips... you couldnât see anything wrong with him, to you he was the most perfect man youâd ever laid eyes on. âY/N?...â he whispered.
You leaned in and kissed his lips gently, you wrapped your arms around his shoulders and he slid his around your waist pulling you closer. His lights turned pink again. â d damn it, youâre going to break me with how sweet you areâ he stutters out. You giggle and kiss him again. âDo you really mind if I break you?â You whisper. â...no... come hereâ he says pulling you back in for another more passionate kiss...
The two of you stayed like that for a while before eventually deciding it was time to go. Instead of skating back on your own he scooped you up once more and slid back to the side of the rink. He helped you put your shoes back on before taking your hand and walking back to base.
You were halfway back to hq when you both felt your stomachs growl, âheh, I guess I didnât bring enough snacks. What do you want to eat?â He asks pulling out his phone to look up places nearby. âGenji.â You tug on his sleeve and point at an in and out. âOh thatâll do!â He chimes.
The two of you ordered and sat down outside watching the city life at night. It was a beautiful evening. You both ate in relative silence, occasionally offering each other a bite of one anotherâs food. Every now and then your hands would find their way into one anotherâs.
...
The pair of you arrived back at base to find that 76 had waited up to make sure you two got home safely, he really was like a dad... once you were both inside he locked up the building and Athena began the evenings lock down protocol.
âIs he always like that?â You ask Genji as you both approach the dormitoryâs. âHe never used to be, he actually used to hate me and Mccree, but... after Reyes died and the recall happened... I think he saw us both as his wards like gabe once did.â He says softly. âPlus, I think heâs lost so many people he cares about he wants to make sure all of us are happy and safe you know?â He says as you both come to a stop outside your room.
You nod, âI suppose he cares more than he lets on.â You smile, you look sheepishly down at your feet. âThank you Genji, I... I had a really good time tonight.â You say softly. âI did too, thank you for giving me a chance.â He says taking your hand again. âYouâre a chance worth taking... do you... wanna come inside? I got a bottle of wine and some Doritos?...â you say looking up at him.
He nods and removes his visor again so you can see the genuine smile on his face. His perfect face... âIâd love that y/n.â He chuckled. You both end up drinking the whole bottle and spending the rest of the evening snuggled on your bed.
Genji was already planning to make your next date even more special...
