I read this over two days ago and it is still haunting me.

This one is on FanFiction.net and is just amazing. In the aftermath of the Skye vs State trial, circumstances bring Phoenix and Miles closer. Phoenix comes to terms with his sexuality, and Miles comes to terms with his life. Beautifully written, sweet, wonderful banter and on point characterization, warm and tragic. This one really moved me. I wish I had the skills to illustrate some of the scenes. I will never listen to Aida the same way again

YES!!! I can’t fan-person enough about this fic! It’s fucking fantastic. The prose, the pacing, the descriptions, settings and dialogue are just excellent. All the locations are set in real places (like the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center pictures below), which just lends this air of authenticity. The Narumitsu is restrained but so good. I am still thinking about certain scenes days later. 😊👍

Modern AU narumitsu fic!!!

los angeles, japanifornia (or, conflicts of interest) by allicanseeispink I love ace attorney with my whole heart. But sometimes I wish the series was more law focused. This fic by allicanseeispink has humored this wish of mine with a modern au! It shows a more realistic interpretation of the lives of our favorite lawyers! There is alot of legalise here but the author explains it pretty well at the start of each chapter. I honestly found it pretty informative! I definitely recommend reading it! I finished this in like 2 days lol.

My piece for the @aa-spring-swap! I love a nice fandom exchange when the time permits it. This gift is for @krowmanticism, who gave the prompt:

this one's totally insane and self indulgent, but i've been thinking about an aa4 ghost trick au with vera misham as the protagonist, who communicates with the living through paintings!! it'd be so cool to see what someone might come up for this. :]]

Vera's a side character I'm really fond of but haven't done anything with before, so I thought this would be fun to work on. It definitely was! More below the cut.

I think there's a lot of good potential here I could probably spend a month straight just jotting down notes for how this would all work narratively and logistically. So I just put together some fun conversational snippets until I ran out of space in tumblr's image limit.

Sprites and backgrounds are here should anyone want to play with these toys themselves.

Working on the background was probably the trickiest part; originally I wanted to try and redraw the drew studios background in the ghost trick style, but I realized pretty quickly I wouldn't be able to finish something like that within the time constraints for this event, so I tried to collage a little something together out of the actual game's assets. It was a bit finnicky but I feel like it came together well! Hope you enjoy!

Life is about the journey, not the destination, right? Some of my most enjoyed reading time has been spent experiencing long, unfinished but satisfying fics. These fics may not be finished, they may leave you wanting more, but in a 'I could eat more because, dang that was tasty’ kind of way. But isn't that kind of a good thing? This au fic is sooo layered, so creative, sooo…. I haven’t come anything like it. It honours the games and characters by following canon touchstones, but through a new lens. Miles, Maya, and oooh Phoenix, are just written so sweetly and charismatically. Great dialogue, great emotional moments, and the foreshadowing and Easter eggs just so generously given! I imagine the authors’ living quarters are wall papered with stickies and red strings cross-crossing to multiple rooms to keep track of them all. Also read if you like cliff hangers. Around chapter 20, the author evolves into the GOAT of cliff hanger crafters. This is the longest bookmark rec I’ve ever written for

This is a magnum opus of slow burns. Even though it is unfinished, it’s so worth your time to get into. Miles' character growth is really the heart of the story. The author describes the story as 'An exploration that begins with colour, continues with grey-scale, then fluctuates between the two...'. Delicate and lovely yet substantial. Kinda like Miles!

3. (Ya Got) Trouble by Chatvert

Rating: E Words: 303, 655

I wish that this work was complete (we are sitting at 44 of 48 Chapters) but really, it doesn't matter. This fic has some of the *best* Maya lines I've ever come across. The dialogue and banter is SO GOOD! Recommending for those that like sweet, sexy and sensitive portrayals of canon adjacent characters (read the tags for more details).

4. A Brief for the Defense by orphan_account (May have been Ophelia_Writes?)

Rating: T Words: 261, 895

Sadly orphaned, I still think this is a top contender for one of the best fanfics I have ever read. Tender, laugh out loud humour, pain, healing, insightful, thoroughly entertaining…Look at the number of comments, Kudos and Bookmarks! It is so worth your time. Sending lots of love and gratitude to the author, wherever they may be ❤️

5. A Series of Turnabouts by LeFlayART

Rating: E Words: 128, 264

Yeah, ok this is a series so I'm kind of cheating, but I think it still meets my 'over 100,000 words collectively and marked unfinished' criteria for this list. For folks who are driven nuts by incompleteness, go enjoy the first two stories in the series. It's only the last one that is unfinished.

Interesting and sometimes explicit long fic where it's revealed that Miles is related to the Feys. Epic in scale and feels.

6. BONUS Super long Chat Fic!

Virtual, Visual, Viral by TrueImmortality

Rating: M Words: (who knows?! This story is 173 chapters (so far) of phone text screenshots. It took me days to read it.

The feels! Incredible emotional mileage given out of screen captured texts. Some are funny, some infuriating, some tender and all with heart. Woah, also some unexpected ´A-game ´ cliff hangers and drama story arcs. And playlists! File under “came here for the story, left with a massively loaded playlist.”

Amazing.
