|| synopsis: reader has had bad days before, some that makes them feel unworthy. keigo will always be there to try and help you through it though. (comfort)

It was a bad day. something you weren't strangers to. Something Keigo wasn't strangers to either, he knew how to help. On days you would get out of bed and the day would just shit on you. Or days where you couldn't get out of bed period. Today was one of those days you genuinely tried, but the world was still unkind.

"You're okay, dove," Keigo whispered into your ear as the two of you sat in bed. You were curled up, a hood over your head as you kept yout eyes closed. The winged hero faced you as he had a wing over the both of you, acting as a warm red blanket. "I'm right here with you."

"'m sorry." You muttered, toying with the strings of your hoodie as you kept your eyes shut.

You hated that Keigo saw you like this. Shit, he was probably tired from hero work. He just got home, and that guilt ate at you. A small pit in your stomach had created when he asked you beforehand if you were in bed all day. It wasn't condescending, no quite the opposite. He wanted to knkw what type of day it was, just to know the best way to try and help you.

"Don't say that, my little dove," His fingers brushed through your hair, a way to try and calm you. Something he found out helped when you were going through shit like this. "You have nothing to apologize for."

"But you're probably tired from hero wo-"

"Nah, I'm super strong so I'm barely tired," He shot a playful wink to you. A small attempt to try and lighten the mood. "So right now, you're my top priority."

"It's probably-"

"Don't even try and say it's annoying, little dove." He held you closer, his gentle hug tightening around you. A way to help ground you, or a small comfort. Either way, it helped. "You matter to me. You will always matter to me. You mean so much to me and would ditch any hero meeting to come and help you if you're having a shitty day."

Before you could try to say something he pressed a small kiss to your forehead and took a big inhale before speaking more.

"I love you and care about you. Nothing will ever change that. The world is so much better with you in it. I know you won't believe me, but I want you to know that. I'll repeat it everyday if you need me to." Keigos words sounded so genuine, so true coming from his lips. "I'm so proud of you, little dove. Even if you just stay in bed all day or if you find out to cure every disease in the world. I will always be proud of you."

Small tears welled in your eyes as you pulled Keigo closer to you. A few moments of silence passed as you let Keigo's words sink in. Somethings you needed to hear today, and mlst likely things you'll need to hear in future days as well. But Keigo will gladly repeat them a million times over.

"Thanks, Keigs.."

"Don't thank me, little dove.. I love you."

"I love you too."

|| You and Keigo have known eachother since ya'll were children, due to being in the commissions hero program. As children you guys were more friendly to eachother, but still super shy. As you grew up, you two were more introduced to eachother. But.. It wasn't exactly a welcome team up. Keigo was confident and snarky when you were quiet and serious. It got worse when the commission enrolled you both in UA.

|| You two quickly fought for being number one in class, whether it be training or academics, you made sure to try and one up eachother. It did not help that Keigo was popular though.. His blonde hair, good guy, charmer aesthetic? Everyone ate that up, girls and guys alike. And he was open to the teachers too! A teachers pet, if one may say.

|| Keigo, despite having all these friends, he always sat with you at lunch and talked with you. Despite having a rivalship, he always made time for you. For training, he always paired with you, and for projects he'd ask to be partners, and the only other person he'd pair up with was Touya. Honestly you, Keigo and Touya were the "Top 3" in your time. With Keigo's speed, Touya's strength, and your stealth, everytime there was training with three people, you three would come out on top.

|| I DIGRESS! Back to Keigo and you! It's giving Glinda and Elphaba, especially with the song "What is this feeling?" the rest of the class deifinitely respects you! But... not exactly.. likes you, at least as much as Keigo. When people realize you share a dorm back at the commission! YEESH! Rumors spread like wildfire! People thought you and Keigo were dating! Or, y'know beat eachother up at home. One or the other. Keigo didn't mind, it was entertaining to him, but you on the other hand hated every second of it.

|| You pushed yourself over the edge, if you couldn't be liked by your classmates, might as well be the best of them. Keigo, of course noticed until he came back to your shared dorm and you were passed out at the coffee table, papers and textbooks all around you, and you were in your work out clothes. So using his detective skills, he realized you had worked out before studying, and looking over to the small kitchen, there wasn't any food. You hadn't eaten, drank water or taken a break at all.

|| He never told you he saw this, but his tune had changed, he'd been more clingy towards you.. It was.. Weird. He'd stayed right by your side, at school and at home. He kinda ignored everyone else, your classmates at least in favor of talking to you, well at least he didn't ignore Touya at the least.

|| Keigo also INSISTED you keep one feather of his at all times, it was weird but to get him off your back, especially if he was out late training. If his feather noticed you studying to late or working to much, it'd fly around you push you to take a break. Not stopping until you agreed and ate or took a nap. It was really sweet.. NO NO! keigo's weird! There's no way.

|| Yeah, after years of being rivals, just a few months in UA made you change your tune. With him being clingy and the forced proximity, you had gotten a crush on the guy you once were rivals with. Well, you're still rivals but you're... Nicer to eachother?

|| For example, when training and sparring, instead of being serious and throwing insults, you'd be laughing and well- still throwing insults but it'd be more flirty or jokey. He definitely noticed and welcomed it with open arms. He'd pamper you and cuddle you, BUT IT WAS JUST FRIENDS!! as just friends.. And it KILLED YOU. Especially knowing he'd probably find some partner in UA, and they'd be over everyday... Oh gods, it'd be actual hell.

|| But one day, when opening up your locker back at UA, you found a note,, A love note! A LOVE NOTE! Oh gods.

" I don't know how to say this without being awkward, actually you're the only one I feel scared around. But I don't wanna be a coward, so meet me at the training grounds at 5 pm, today.

|| You freaked out, but there were so many people with a name that started with K in your class! So who could it be? You rambled to Touya during english class about this, it was the only class you didn't have Keigo in, thankfully, so you could talk as much about this as you wanted. He just rolled his eyes, "You know it's probably Takami, right?" Your face went all red as you grumbled and tried focusing on your english assignment.

|| And soon enough, you went to the training grounds and stood there, waiting.. Oh god it was probably a prank. You frequently checked the time, it's already been 5 minutes. This was a mistake.

You stood at the training grounds as you waited for this mysterious "K" person. 10 minutes had already passed.

"This was a mistake," You muttered under your breath as you turned around and started walking away, after a few steps you heard familiar wing flaps. "W-WAIT!" It was Keigo! He... Looked rough. He was flying towards your direction, small scratches at his face and his hair was a mess. "Lady Nagant told me to come over and train for a little bit! I thought it'd only take an hour! But we got carried away and- and.. Are you crying?"

You stood there, eyes puffy and cheeks pink.

"YOU- you-" You wiped your eyes quickly. "You're the one who almost stood me up!!"

"I'm so sorry!"

".. So, what's this about, birdy?"

His wings fluttered lightly at the nickname and his cheeks dusted a light pink. This always happened when you called him "birdy."

"I-" He took a step forward and took a hold of both your hands into his. He took a deep breath as he stared down at your hands as he spoke.

"You.. Were always really cool to me. Honestly, you make me wanna be a better person? Be a good future hero. You make me wanna work harder, and- and training and studying with you made me realize.. That you're.. Uh-" He looked up at you, nervousness in his eyes. "Your opinion is the only one I really care about.. And I really care about you, and you-"

You placed both your hands on his cheeks, a hard look on your face.

"Shut up and kiss me"

He complied, leaning in and kissed you.

Smiles, this was really fun to make. I've always liked this idea :3

AUGH CRYING MYSELF TO SLEEP THIS IS SO GOOD

going ice skating with Dabi and Hawks and just laughing whenever they fall <3

it's practically the end of winter but I can't get off my mind

okay contrary to popular belief i think touya shows off the he knows how to ice skate. keigo can't and he is like a baby deer on the ice.

and it's so cute, when you brought up the idea touya was actually excited to go. neither could ever really say no to you (keigo's weakness is your pout and touya is always down to go with the flow) and both thought that ice skating was a fun little date idea.

so here the three of you were downtown hosu, touya showing off by skating past keigo backwards with his hands in his pockets while the blonde clings to the walls on unsteady feet. you can't help but cackle at the sight-- you've offered your hand to him multiple times but he refuses it every time. he's determined to 'look cool' in front of you and actually skate, but you only find him endearing and dorkish.

at some point you pull off to the side and throw your legs over the wall and watch the two of them antagonize each other. keigo is trying to defend himself against touya's teasing-- it's not working.

the sight is sweet. touya looks a lot healthier since rehab and getting out of the hospital, and keigo is starting to relax and take care of himself better since taking the role of president of the hpsc. and yeah, they are happy-- you know they are. they've come to terms with their situations and their lives but in this moment, where they only have to worry about gliding (or trying) to move around the ice-- they couldn't have looked more carefree.

the sight of them makes your heart clench. touya's eyes meet yours over the makeshift rink and he grins. you can see the warmth in his eyes, there's a fire in those irises but it burns for a different reason. still hot and scorching, but not nearly as unconstrained as before.

"he looks happy," a voice speaks beside you and you practically jump at the sound of it.

"shouto!" your heart races as your head turns to find the boy standing just off to the side of you, hands clasped behind his back and staring off to the rink where his eldest brother terrorizes your boyfriend. your heart settles slowly, watching his gaze and tracing it until it lands on your two idiots. "what are you doing out in hosu?"

"i help with the rink sometimes," he shrugs halfheartedly. "patrol shift."

you hum in response but don't really say anything. your relationship with the youngest todoroki isn't the strongest, but it's there. since the war both you and touya have been trying to build a relationship with him-- with all of the todoroki siblings.

touya's head lifts and sees his younger brother standing next to you-- he lifts a hand in greeting and shouto returns it. your boyfriend's mouth moves a little to form what you know is a small smile but whether shouto knows that is beyond you. touya looks as if he's going to move to join the two of you but he can't go anywhere with keigo clinging to his arm and desperately trying not to land on his ass.

"you want to go to dinner with us? if your patrol is over any time soon," you're speaking before you can even think about it. but you can see the way shouto watches the two of them, he's moved closer to stand next to you and there's a hint of a fond smile on his lips.

shouto nods a little. if he's shocked at all about the offer his expression doesn't show it. "i'm off in thirty minutes. i'd love to join you guys."

your smile mirrors his. and yeah, touya was a little grumpy about his younger brother crashing date night with you and keigo-- but he enjoyed spending time with his younger brother.
