Have you ever tried a new medication, or other such thing, and felt some weird side effects? Like getting drowsy or feeling silly or whatever.
I tried a new pain medication, Naproxen, and thought it was making me feel drowsy and and bit loopy after a few hours.
I went to pull out my phone to see if that was a known side effect, and realized I never took the dose I was planning to take today, had a moment of panic that I'd eaten my phone, and decided that maybe I get too little sleep in general.
Naproxen isn't making me weird, I'm doing that all on my own.

There’s a few things going on with this statement.
1. Assuming that low empathy makes someone a bad person. It does not. Actions are what matter, not empathy levels.
2. Demonizing autistic people whose low/no empathy they attribute to their autism. Autism fundamentally impacts the way you interact with the world, others, and yourself. That includes empathy.

On April 16th 2025 the US federal government has proposed to change the interpretation of the endangered species act so that it no longer protects habitat.
This is open for public comment until the end of May 19th. Please comment and make your voice heard.
Wildlife need their habitat. If the ESA redefines harm so that habitat is no longer protected, the implications for wildlife would be catastrophic.
Most of my bog interactions are throwing branches/fallen trees into them rather than leave then in the road.

in light of recent events i'd like to make it clear again that trans people, especially trans women, are extremely welcome on my blog and in my hockey community no matter what. i would welcome trans women on my team any day (and i would welcome them to be really good, too, not just limited to an "acceptable" standard of mediocrity/anonymity that seems to be one of the more common arguments for trans inclusion in women's sports). trans women are women, trans men are men, genderqueer and nonbinary people's genders are real, and everyone deserves respect and will find it with me.
